Bingo!
It's all about intensity as well.
Your muscles should be fatigued when leaving the gym.

Yep and no way anyone is fully fatiguing a muscle on a full body workout. Do one of my leg workouts and I promise you that you will want to come back another day to work an upper body part.

I think you could probably get the same workout in 2 hours.

You easily could, and a much better one at that. A workout taking 3 hrs has to have way too much rest time in between sets. The rest time in between sets is very important.

Deadlifts and squats are always the last thing I do.
Im not saying there is anything wrong with what you are doing.

All I'm saying is the fb routine that I do is nothing like the fbr that newbies do

How is it any different? No way you can fully fatigue a muscle on a fb workout. And even if so, what are you doing for the extra hour? 1 hour cardio tops, 1 hr-1hr 15 min weights tops. Anything more is a waste, or too much time resting, unless you're a bodybuilder because their workouts do take 2.5 hrs sometimes, and that's for 2 muscle groups and abs/obliques tops, but they are also on 15x more test than the avg body produces in a week, and then some...

No power cleans, snatches, or military presses?

And squats last in a workout is not the correct way it should be done either. They should always be done first. I don't think you will find anyone to agree with you on that one. You're talking about one of the most important exercises here.

Yea I am a powerlifter and I always do the main lift of the day (squat, bench or DL) first and then follow up with the accessory exercises. Having said that I dont agree with much else of what you have said. Plenty of serious powerlifters including myself spend 3+ hours in the gym.

In general full body exercises like squats are far superior to isolation exercises. Guys doing isloation split routines are ussually the weakest guys in the gym (although some of them have a good pysique).

I have already stated bodybuilders spend 2.5 to 3 hrs in the gym. I will add powerlifters in the mix, because my friends that are do as well(I am somewhat one myself and almost fully committed to the Dark Side now, but I hafta do other exercises for my MMA stuff also. haha). I completely agree with what you just said...

I'll be the first to admit on a powerlifting day, I will spend 30min to 1 hr just warming up.

I spend around 45-60min. in the gym. That's with supersets due to time restraints.

im in my 50's here and i got to say being around most married people if you are single are so boring.really dont understand if you are marry why do most people just give up on life

Most wives make the guy give up on life. Figuratively of course. Even the ones that are 'allowed' to do things don't bother since they will have to hear about it a week before and a week after.

Believe it or not, but I've actually thrown up after an intense leg workout.

DD yes you are right on imo, i have a couple of buddies here that use to be great fun, now even when they do get to go out, it no fun being with them as it seems they are watching the clock ect.if you are single it best to hang with the single crowd imo, but the thing i really hate watching is the guy that is so pussy whip it make you sick..........a great sunday here as i worked out early this morning at the gym, played 3 sets of tennis and will be going out later for dinner on the patio at a local restaurant and listening to some great jazz with a lady

I'm not going to say chops routine won't work just that it's not the most efficient way to build muscle. Ultimately any routine you can stick to is better than one you can't so I'd rather a guy do 3 workouts a week at 3 hrs each than miss workouts consistently cause he can't make a more frequent schedule or he finds the shortened sched doesn't push him in the way he's enjoyed in the past (which it should but it takes a training adjustment) but either way better in the gym than not. Optimal use of time there is a different conversation.

I go 6 days a week, split muscles every other day, some sort of cardio opposite days then take 1 day of full rest. Works really well for me, but agree with many others you have to work until you can't lift another inch. I see too many people that quit before they should and don't push themselves. Oh and married...

IMO that's the way it should be done for most people but I don't want anyone telling me how to workout either. There is a guy at our gym that spends 3 hours in the gym but because he stands around a lot and I bet I get more gain in my 50-60 minutes than he does. Chop do your thing but most would not agree with your methods unless you are a pro bodybuilder (my uncle was Mr South Dakota once). But if you like it, keep doing it.

Vancouver is a generally fit city so while there is an abundant of singles at my gym we get a shit load of couples that work out too, so it's not as overwhelmingly one sided here as it seems to be in your area. It's not an even split but I'd say at least 30 percent minimum is married guys and girls and closer to 40 percent probably. Married people are all in and out quick and hit the gym early in the morning, 9-10 am, the singles come out during meat market times, after 7, 5-6 on weekends so they have time to get ready to head out for the evenings. I hit the gym twice a day so I catch both sides.

Single chicks who workout while great to look at are a pain in the ass at the gym, ever since this big ass craze took over I can't get into the squat racks without at least a 20 minute wait, have to linger around them and pounce the second they open. 30 variations of squats and lunges all done in the squat racks or smith machines. Im a member of 2 gyms, I only use one to workout legs, the hardcore one most of us guys can't find our way on the fitness girls occupy them all day. We complained and asked for a mens only squat area its gotten that bad.

Hey nuc. My goal is not to be that bulky. I'm 5' 10" 178 with less then 11% body fat with very visible abs. I am not what you would call buff but I'm very defined and cut.

If my goals where to be huge I would probably need to make some adjustments. But since what I do helps me obtain the look I like I'm good with it.

The diet is criticle also.

You have to know your tdee and either eat at a deficit when cutting or a slight surpluss when bulking.
I think this is the thing that most people do incorrectly.

I even weigh my food by the gram with a scale. But it's the only way to truly do it right.
