Are the pre-workout supplements you guys are talking about like C4? The stuff that just gives you better pumps in the gym?

I don't really consider c4 to be a pump PWO although it has some pump ingredients.

For pump I use White Pump, Hemovol and CM2 Nitrates.

I stack that with a stim pre work for increased energy and focus.

The PWO's that we have been mostly talking about are energy and focus PWO's

chop, you got 2 flavors of prejym there? whats the better tasting?

My favorite is the Cherry Limeade plus the Hemevol that I mix it with is also cherry limeade so it makes that perfect for me but they also have Raspberry Lemon aid.

Something like a PWO flavor is purely a preference thing.

If you are thinking about ordering some just ask yourself which one sounds better to you.

It doesn't seem like the right word but I'd describe the PI as mellow, it's clean and gives great focus without any stim feel to it...perfect for a day that you just want that mental edge without needing any serious energy help. Its a good add on to the rotation as I don't like to run heavy stims every day your body adjusts so this lighter stim load would give your adrenals a break and you can save the heavier hitters for days you're just dragging.

Haven't done cardio with PI or hyde yet and tmw I got early morning hiit so will give PI or a quarter scoop of hyde a run, pre jym I save for lifting. I hate cardio with a passion so I need all the help I can get here lol

I've never used any pre-workout supplement.
Post workout protein shake and then a large meal about an hour later.

nothing happened to them, they're still there if you want them. Pre workouts aren't necessary, just a supplement to toss in when your body is primed to use it. making use of various compounds from bcaas, creatine, taurine and everything in between, you won't ever have a wasted workout if you didn't use a preworkout, but you may just have a better one if you do. I look at it as a way to maximize my results while im there and use them on days Im not at my best. I work out 6 days a week, some days you just don't have any energy and the help from a preworkout can make the difference from crawling thru a workout and killing one. It's just another tool to make use of. Protein powders aren't needed, most supplements aren't needed but they can help.

^^^ it can make all the difference in the world...anyone can go to the gym and do reps until they no longer can...they go home feeling like they really had a great workout... i can go to the gym and do reps until i no longer can...and then do 2-3 more with negatives to maximum failure...and know that i pissed on their workout and actually got something done... i know that the days i take a pwo supp, i will never say "fuck it" and give up early ...

and then i eat a banana with my shake :toast:

protein powders arent needed....until you realize that its hard as hell to eat at least 1.5x your body weight in protein when you are trying to grow... lolz

When I used to workout seriously, I took less than I do now when I don't workout so seriously. Before, I didnt take anything before and after, usually tuna or a protein shake. Well, throw in a little testosterone back in the late 90's for a bit.

Whole Foods are much better, but post workout you have an hour window to get protein into your system to start the rebuilding process.
1½ grams per pound of body weight.
During the winter I was taking in around 300 grams of protein per day.

lol, I couldn't live without protein powders, but there is always going to be the crowd who says that you don't need supplements and they're right, you can survive without them, you can grow without them but there's an efficient way of doing things and a less efficient way of doing things. I can try to shove in 300 grams of protein with real food but shit I don't feel like moving, Im stuffed all day, but a protein shake goes down easy and I feel hungry sooner able to pack away more cals, it's more efficient for me to deal with shakes at least some of the time, but I try to do the majority via real food for the micronutrients.

I could not imagine getting 200gs of protein without powder. You can only eat so much chicken and salmon

Are the pre-workout supplements you guys are talking about like C4? The stuff that just gives you better pumps in the gym?

That's what I'm trying to figure out.

There are basically 2 kinds of pre workouts.
Stim based and non stim based.

The stim based are PWO's like C4,PreJym,White Flood, Mr Hyde etc...
The non stim based are Hemovol, White Pump, Nitrates etc..

Some people only take one or the other.
Some people take both.

I take both the stim and the non stim.

It is a really bad idea to take 2 full doses of 2 different stim workouts together but its perfectly fine to stack a stim with a non stim.

The stim PWO's are known for energy
The non stims are known for the pump and focus.

But they both have some crossover things as well.

If that's what gets the job done for you guys, great. If it has more than 5 ingredients I'm not putting it in my body. Sometimes less is more.
