Bengals are playing for the division and possible 2 seed
If they cancel the game, then Bengals clinch the division

Bengals likely out of 1 seed race anyway given Chiefs losing to Raiders is pretty unlikely. Beating Bills would have clinched division and likely the 2 seed, but 1 seed a reach

So if they cancel, Bengals probably locked into the 3 unless they hold the tiebreaker over Buffalo. They can't surpass KC despite h2h win

They have to play this game at some point.

I understand you really can't play it this week because everyone is still going to be unaware of how Hamlin is going to pull through this...

You simply can't just call it a random tie and move on...

They will probably move the play-offs back and week and just have this game.

They dedicate the entire week to Hamlin.

Would be my guess.

Last year nfc got Monday wildcard I assume this year goes to afc. Play it Wednesday loser gets Monday game. Once again I don’t see nfl giving everyone an extra week off takes advantage away from being 1 seed almost a disadvantage

It is going to be very different if he pulls through or passes away,

Very ghoulish to re-start a game at the exact point where someone basically died.

Just starting from beginning is going to be strange also but think this is what they would do...

If he pulls through its obviously much easier and i think they just pick up where it left off.

Very complicated situation obviously...

They erased the Super Bowl bye week when 9/11 happened (season got pushed back a week)

Seems like a reasonable choice here

By doing this your giving all playoff teams 1 week off and 1 seeds 2 weeks off. I would be surprised if they do that but anything possible

Very true. but what else can they do.

That would be a scheduling nightmare, you can't change the date of the superbowl

Not trying to sound callous here but I doubt they change the entire NFL schedule for 1 guy

Bengals 11-4
Ravens 10-6
Ravens win they have same amount of wins but Ravens will have beaten them twice
That leaves a must win for suspended game
11-5 is a better record then 11-6.

I see what you're saying now--people though were pondering if they don't make game up or make it a tie.

I assumed you meant Bengals/Bills game wasn't going to be played

Bengals would be 11-5 in that scenario and still win the division

Thats is the discussion though
What would be scenario in which they don't play the game
Right

If they don't play the game, then Bengals win the division

Which seems fair since they actually had seeding position to gain in the Bills game. Controlled their destiny to be the 2 seed, could be the 1

This whole discussion is based on what scenario would they not play the game Bills/Bengals
Would be another clusterfuck to have Ravend=s and Bengals same win and Ravens beating them twice and give Bengals the division

You wanna give them a division because they "controlled their own destiny" lol
That means nothing controlling it and getting it done are 2 different things
Do Bills get 1st rounf bye then because they controlled their own destiny?
