You wanna give them a division because they "controlled their own destiny" lol
That means nothing controlling it and getting it done are 2 different things
Do Bills get 1st rounf bye then because they controlled their own destiny?
Think we are talking past each other

I'm saying Bengals are sacrificing chance for home field advantage by not playing this game, plus likely chance at 2 seed as well. So it seems fair that they end up with 3 seed.

There's no perfect scenario

Fruit.

you understand if they don't play all 17 games that "25k division winner" ticket very possibly gets voided.

I know its make believe and all but maybe remember that---lol

They erased the Super Bowl bye week when 9/11 happened (season got pushed back a week)

Seems like a reasonable choice here
Division championship is 1/29, Super Bowl is 2/12. That is 2 weeks between games

Fair got nothing to do with it, there are just no easy answers and they probably aren't making up a game with the playoffs starting Jan 15th

Right, so move everything back a week and have Conference championship week 1 week before the Super Bowl instead of 2. That way you don't change the date of the Super Bowl

Tough from a promotional standpoint I guess

Yeah, I don't see this as rising to the level of tragedy of 9/11 for them to change so much of the schedule.

I'd be surprised if all that happened, although not impossible I guess.

They will play the game.

They aren't just going to make up an outcome for a game that matters.

Actually i think Fruit is right on this one...

Get rid of the super bowl "bye week"....finish week 18 on schedule, then have the Hamlin week, then start play-offs.

I think it's unlikely too

Only other logistical thing that makes sense unless the brendanjack scenario where you play Wednesday of next week or something like that. Maybe have two playoff games on Monday of that Wild Card weekend (Bengals and Bills game).

If he were to pass though that game is going to feel really fucked up.

Hell the whole rest of season will have a horrible feeling to it.

You really believe you're going to see other teams jumping around and celebrating plays and wins when this guy just died on the field. Bills really going to just keep playing in his memory?

It will be hard to move on from that...

9/11 was during week 2 so they have time to push a lot of things back

This is going to be hard with a lot of short notice. Sure you can cancel the pro bowl in vegas the week before the super bowl

If you are a playoff team, then this is a GREAT idea as you'll get a week's rest before the playoffs. Teams like the eagles would be thrilled to have Jalen heal for another week.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out in the AFC as the top 3 teams plus the ravens are affected by this.

Personally, i have to be a bills fan on sunday and i'm not sure they give 2 poops about their game on sunday

One thing to die outside of field a complete different thing to die on the field.

I don't think next week (1/15) is going to just be Bengals/Bills and nothing else
That's news already. No changes to week 18. Bills/Bengals yet to be rescheduled.

No, I mean next week...Not the games on 1/8

As in push everything back a week for 1 game to take up an entire weekend.

Getting into an uncomfortable part of the conversation here but I doubt this 1 guy is getting the 9/11 treatment

Tough to push everything back a week when 16 teams have been preparing already for home game this week. People that have transportation, hotels, reservations, etc already booked. What happens there?
