I don't get the lack of respect Texas has been getting by the books all year.
Bettors are getting rich backing this team.
Lots of times at plus money.
Let's hope last game wasn't a sign of things to come for CC.

I've read the recap several times and I'm still in disbelief. Latest game ever at the new stadium after a 3:35 rain delay in the ninth inning. In the ninth inning. Unbelievable.

Joe was completely out managed in this game. Ran out in the top of the 9th when Chapman walked the first batter and had a 3-1 count on the next hitter. Begged for the game to be halted because of the rain. Ranger manager argued that the game would be completed regardless of the delay and umps agreed. Three hours and thirty-five minutes later the game resumed with no Chapman and Yates was a dumpster fire for the Yanks, hitting three batters, and giving up four runs.

Charlie Brown, he's a clown, that Charlie Brown.

Vin radio silent, I imagine he's having what we call where I'm from a "coming to Jesus moment."

Well, Tanaka and Martinez tomorrow.

Thus team never scores for Tanaka not matter how good he is.

Big question is what the fuck happened to Carlos? He's just about the whole damn offense. Left the game in the first inning and there was never an update or I missed it.

I think tonight spells firesale by the trade deadline...

Seeing heavy juice on the Yanks tomorrow. It's a trap Vin! It's a trap!

Tanaka on short rest. Our biggest bat, Beltran, out with a hammie (MRIs negative), Charlie Brown's management in full effect as ARod hitting third. Sports radios and newspapers here mounting up the pressure all damn day that this is a huge game that will define the Yankees season, etc. And our Italian friend ate up every word.

Amazing Value on Texas here IMO as a gambler. Great offense in a rhythm, Martinez with an amazing crap streak on the road (like 0-7) that has to end at some point, Yankee bats might be a little too eager, good chance Tanaka will be off. But.... smart is as stupid does.

Get Jobu some rum damnit. The little fucker has been on the wagon for far too long!

GLTA!

Never doubt the power of the reverse jinx. That was some old school Yankee stadium magic. Wow. What a finish!!!

Vin was screaming into the phone. I though he was going to have a heart attack.

I'm starting to see why hardcore baseball fans have a reputation as being a bit nuts.

What a game. Papa Midnight tomorrow.

After last night's ninth inning miracle, Vin was hoarse but could still get out the words "take the Rangers today."

We won two he said, signing me and croaking in raspy Tarzan English. Starting lineups not out but surely no McCann (can't catch an early game the next day after catching the night before and he looked like he was limping a bit after that first homer) and no Beltran (if they're talking about selling him they're not going to chance him getting really hurt). Papa Midnight (Pineda) has been better in June but he's not facing the Twins or the Angels today. This is the best team in the AL and they can and will hit and core. Done BMC all available but I don't think will see them.

Then I noticed that the open newspapers next to Vin's donuts had multiple cigarette butts put out in pictures of Charlie Brown (Joe G) and ARod. Vin started gesturing wildly - looking like he was trying to flip gang signs out of some 90s movie. Considering he's an aging Guinea curmudgeon, this was pretty damn funny. What is it Vin, says I laughing.

"Three" croaked Vin pounding the picture of ARod and then waving his arms around wildly like that robot form Lost in Space. "No hit" … "pitch guesser" … "no bat speed" … "why?"

I understand, said I. Charlie Brown batting ARod third is insane. He about killed the ninth inning rally last night.

Vin did a facepalm. "Rangers," he croaked again.

So, here's hoping AJ Griffin of the Rangers continues his winning ways getting great run support.

I didn't get to watch the game but it looks like Pineda pitched great. Seems like he's found his groove. Vin said earlier this week that the boys would win two games and they did, but I guess he talked himself out of it.

I can't believe McCann caught today.

Late night in San Diego with the Pods tomorrow. NL rules so no DH. I wonder if we see Carlos at all? McCann due for a break as well.

Good luck tonight if you play!

The see saw season continues.
Just when you think they are done they show a little life.
It's going to be the most interesting trade deadline in the Bronx in a long time.
Tough call if you are where you are now and fighting with a bunch of teams for the wild card.

Very true. Buy or sell.... a new question wafting around the city along with the smell of hot garbage. Coincidence? If we sell I hope we don't get rid of Miller. Vin thinks Chapman is sure to go if we sell. Betances will stay, says he. Carlos pinch hit today and Vin told me he wouldn't be surprised to see Charlie Brown work him into the lineup for the Pods series somewhere. If management wants to sell him they've got to show he's OK. I've said before Vin hates Charlie Brown with a passion. I quote: "The guy looks like a world class dick. I wouldn't want to play for him. He tries to put his mark on every game and I imagine he's the kind of guy who can take the goddamn fun out of anything." Will he stay or will he go? Vin hopes the latter obviously.

He wants our interim manager to be Tony Pena - a situation that Vinny thinks could work. Former catchers make great managers said he. I think the boys will play for him. But he has also said he really thinks it might be time for Cashman to go, even though he basically learned to walk in the clubhouse. He's been there too long, said Vin. The club culture is getting stagnant. Time for a new hand on the rudder, a new way forward.

Cashman getting his walking papers would be seismic and IMO would never happen. As for the wildcard race, there are so many teams ahead of us. Vin is the eternal optomist but this season he's different.

I see a glimmer of the old Vin at times but he's disillusioned - even after last night. Thinks we should sell and start over again. Firesale.

But I don't see it. I think management will double down and buy. I mean hey - is that not the New York way?
