Busto in the 0/8 yesterday. Decided to take a break from the events today and hang out with a few friends that I only see here once a year. Sometimes I take Vegas for granted. I've visited Vegas so many times through the years and forget what a neat place this is. We did some sightseeing, which is rare for me. I sometimes stay for a month or so durring the series and never see anything but the Rio. 5 of us went to the strip and we decided we would stop at every casino and each put 100.00 in one 10.00 machine. We stopped at numerous casinos. The morning cost me a grand total of $230 with lunch and breakfast included. We had a blast. The best $230 I've lost in a while. I balanced my books when I returned. I keep very good records of all ring and tournament play. I've had 8 ring game sessions totaling 42 hours of play. I have had a break even session and a losing session. I've entered 5 events, with one cash. I'm -6300 in tournaments and + $15,400 in ring games.... Unfortunately I'm -$3800 in carney games. I plan on eating dinner at Voodoo steakhouse then PLO all night. I'm hoping to put in a 8-10 hour session. Btw.... If you haven't tried voodoo steakhouse, great steaks and a nice view if Vegas from the top of the Rio.

4 hours into PLO session. I've got 2 whales at the table. The guys are friends "learning" PLO. Unfortunately I haven't had many chances to isolate either of them. I'm hoping to find some spots. I'm +1900 but the table is loaded with the whales losses. They are having fun, while reloading constantly.

Played a 11 hour session. Ended the session +4300. Ran up to +7800 but took a horrific beat in hour 10. It's another day of cash grinding, then back to the events Thursday.

Playing the 1500 NL today. These huge fields are amazing. Nothing like the wsop! I really wish there wasn't so many NLHE but that's what the crowds want. Played PLO last night for a 8 hour session. Nothing notable, ran pretty dead with long dry spells for a -2200 session. I did win 1600 playing craps though. Hoping for a deep run today!

Coming back to 3-4x average stack today. About 3PM yesterday they move a young kid directly to my right. After observing the kid for a handful of orbits I can tell this kid has a good grasp of the game, although extremely aggressive. We become friendly at the table with some light hearted conversation. We even place a couple prop bets on the table. I realize the kid has apparently been playing some of the higher limit PLO around town based on a few guys that are pretty well known for also playing these games stopping by the table to chat with him. We end up grabbing some dinner. We decide to place a bounty on a certain increasingly annoying player at the table. I agree to it based on the fact that I have a bit of a advantage based on position. It was a 3k bounty. Soon after the prop I isolate the bounty player on the flop with a flopped nut straight with a back door nut flush redraw. I end up calling a 3 bet shove on the river with the absolute nuts. We don't end up settling up immediately. I leave for break early after folding my hand only to find out after returning from break that my prop partner went bust in the last hand. The kid now owed me 3800 based on all props. I expressed to the table that the kid must have got me for 3800. A well known pro at the table spoke up and said " he would never do that, 4k ain't gonna break him." The pro then handed be 3800 and said "he must have forgot, ill have him pay me back." I asked the pro who the kid was, he gave me his online screename. The kid with the worn tennis shoes and a backpack that looked like it had been through Vietnam had over 6 million in online cashes as well as another 2.2 in live earnings. He's apparently known worldwide as one of the strongest super high limit PLO cash players in the game.

awm, great thread as always every year, when you get time, mind sharing what books or resources your roommate used to help get such a quick grasp and domination of tourney play? Ever since online poker went belly up for the most part, my skills have deteriorated quite a bit but I'm not far from some B&M sit & go's and tournies and would love to get back semi-serious about it, at the very least. Or if you have any tips/resources yourself, even if in a PM or something, it'd be greatly appreciated. If not, no worries either.

GL the rest of the way!
