11/10 THURSDAY
AQUEDUCT
R1 - #4 Biloxi Blues (9-2) Tapit filly has a nice gate work buried a couple of weeks back. Dam's only other starter was a winner. Race looks like a crap shoot, so I'll avoid Pletcher, Asmussen, and Brown and try to get some value.
R2 - #5 Easy Day (8-1) The favorite, #7 Greeley and Ben, looks much the best but at 3-5 I'll try to pick the 2nd place finisher and hope for the best. The Scott Lake shipper can sit back and move late to pick up the place check. And if #7 falters...
R3 - #2 Suspended Campaign (5-1) dropping in class and turning back to a mile (her best distance) after a promising run off the bench. She loves Aqueduct and Franco is on fire. By the way, I'll be giving all his mounts a second look today.
R4 - #5 Grand Again (15-1) multiple class dropper flashed speed before folding in first start for the barn. Now adds Lasix and blinkers.
R5 - #3 Amedeus Music (7-2) newly gelded and coming back from a 2 month break. Only win was fresh off the layoff.
R6 - #4 Value Engineering (7-2) The Maker entries both look formidable, but I'm going with the proven closer in this one. His last two wins were with JC aboard - reunited and it feels so good.
R7 - #3 Merger of Equals (6-1) first time going long, adds blinkers, and lures a quality, albeit frigid, jockey.
R8 - #8 Itsakeyper (10-1) four published works since last try at AQU on 9/18 - seems busy for a 6 year-old. Maybe figured something out?
R9 - #3 Fazaro (30-1) the old "great jockey rides for unknown trainer" angle. Unlikely to be able to steal it, but you never know...
