If the goal is to rid ourselves of what you guys discuss above, you should both definitely be pulling for a Clinton presidency.

I've stated and linked content stating the merits from clarity that would be brought with a Clinton presidency.

You can sort of do a cost/benefit analysis to that and come to your own conclusions, but I do think the clarity it would provide is on balance a good thing.

It is less than ideal, but it is 1 of the reasons I am indifferent to who wins (the other being obviously Trump is a total moron)

Although I should make clear I am not apocalyptic about the future, I think it is going to be great barring a major geopolitical black swan, but this country does need some major fixes to get there.

I replied to you in the Meg Wittman thread and said something to the effect of this.

The political solution is anger, protest, backlash via Trump/Sanders axis, etc

However, a lot of the societal/cultural revolution is rediscovering the value of technology and creativity and how I think that is starting to show up in culture more now than the previous 10 years.

So you're saying the reason for all this anxiety, unrest and Trump popularity is technology (robots)?

Google's self-driving car was just involved in ANOTHER crash

Unlikely. At least not in our lifetimes.

The ruling class broke America (they broke Europe too, but that's a different topic)

No, that isn't what I said at all.

I am saying the need and desire to solve complex problems with innovation is greater now than it has been and I see many signs of this.

And as far as robo-cars go, the technology is going to get there faster than the government will probably. If it gets held up it will be a regulatory issue with the NHTSA or perhaps cultural (people just not wanting to give up that type of control) but the technology is going to be here very fast.

And of course, anytime you have a new technology in modern times (even something as simple as an app that hurts the taxi business), the big government/crony capitalist cartel has to get in on it or prevent it from happening. One of the main reasons everything is the same. If that happens with robo-cars I'll probably fully understand why Kaczynski went so insane.

The underlying concept here is that of “rentier capitalism” and “rent-seeking behavior” amongst the elite. In rentier capitalism, economic elites use their political and financial power to cement their wealth against potential competition, or to increase the revenue or profit from existing operations by shifting costs elsewhere.
Juxtaposed against rent-seeking is the holy grail of Silicon Valley, disruption, the art of finding a herd of lumbering mastadons and cutting them off at the knees. Uber disrupts taxis; Aero disrupts television networks; Amazon disrupts book publishers. (In response, taxi firms lobby local governments for regulatory enforcement; television networks sue Aero into oblivion in the courts; publishers collude with each other to present a single negotiating front against Amazon. For every move there is a counter to be played.)

Paul Ryan leads his Republican primary challenger, Paul Nehlen, by 66 points five days ahead of the election. Ryan leads with 80% to 14% for Nehlen with 6% undecided.
Paul Ryan’s image in the district mirrors the ballot. Ryan is extremely popular in his district with a favorable rating of 80% compared to an unfavorable rating of just 14%. Nehlen, on the other hand, is viewed unfavorably by 47% of likely Republican primary voters and viewed favorably by just 16%.
The Republican nominee for President, Donald Trump, is somewhat popular in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District with 52% of Republicans viewing Trump favorably and 32% viewing him unfavorably.
"It is clear, according to the most recent data, that Paul Ryan will win by a wide margin on Tuesday. The numbers have moved in Ryan’s favor since we last surveyed this race, indicating likely Republican voters there do not appreciate the attacks on their Congressman,” said Titus Bond, Director of Remington Research Group.

Eric Cantor did not see it coming — and neither did some GOP pollsters.

A late-May survey conducted for the ousted House majority leader’s campaign showed Cantor with a 34-point lead over Dave Brat.

Just saying.

Vits tactics haven’t worked for him. Why would you adopt them?

Vit's tactics? Brietbart is a joke. Should I lie to make you feel warm and fuzzy? All they want is clicks. Their article with the headline "Ted Cruz Refuses to Endorse Paul Ryan for Congress" is a perfect example. Bull shit clickbait. Open the article and you see this..

“Sen. Cruz likes and respects Paul Ryan,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told Breitbart News. “He considers endorsements when asked, and in this case a request wasn’t made.”

Does the headline match the content? Hell no, but they got their clicks.

“Well, then, the question is why do we have Muslims in the country?” Nehlen said, visibly and audibly shocking the two co-hosts.
“Are you suggesting that we deport all of the Muslims in this country?” Proft followed up.

“I’m suggesting we have a discussion about it, that’s for sure,” Nehlen answered, to a stunned pause from the hosts.

This guy sounds like a real gem.

Nehlen is just a little ahead of the curve in a country infected with political correctness.

Don't worry, time will do its thing like it always does.

You’re going to use that as an example? Matching a headline from one article to context. I get it, head line written by the author, contradicted by a Cruz spokesperson. All in the same article, wow!

Beats the shit out of Obama saying the $400,000 million wasn’t a ransom payment. Or Hillary saying she didn’t lie to the FBI.

How long did it take you find the comparison after you humped Breitbart six times without any examples before I pointed it out.

Vit… why don’t you post picks?

Mantis… Breitbart sucks.

Ahead of the curve? You're talking about deporting American citizens.

If they believe in Sharia law, which is incompatible with the Constitution, absolutely - in a heartbeat!

I don't care about Muslim rights, I care about American rights, soooo....

GTFO!

Wow. Didn't realize you were a shareholder in Breitbart.

You should be happy that I'm taking a stand on something. No more fence sitting, eh?

Also have to chuckle at the asinine comparison to VIt's why don't you post picks. One, at least I'm discussing politics and something that actually matters. Two, he posts that phrase more times in one day, than I've posted Breitbart sucks in my entire time here.

That isn't what he said, Joe. He was referring to Muslims as a whole. Not Muslims that claim to believe in Sharia.

Meh, that's a technicality.

Perhaps Newt was more eloquent when he said, "deport all Muslims who believe in Sharia."
