He tried pulling off a shot that was obviously near impossible. He had a tree in front of him and had to hit it low out of the rough through about a 4 foot window and no more than 5 feet high. It was a 50-1 shot, even for Phil. He ended up hitting the ball way too high, it wasn't even close. It hit the tree and dropped straight down and then he had no shot at all. So he hit it back to the fairway like he should have done the first time. At least if he had hit it out on his second shot, with his short game he had a chance to get it up and down for a par. It was the worst decision by him that I've seen in a couple years. I thought he had put at least some of his bad course management behind him in the last couple of years. But it reared it's ugly head again today..
