I think the injury is a non factor.. He doesn't have the game to win a major the last several years anyway

CBS can't be very happy about it. Now all they have is Tits Mickelson. And he isn't playing very good right now. The good news is we won't have to watch endless hours of coverage of Tiger struggling to make the cut.

There is still a large graphic of Tiger fans out there that won't watch golf if he's not playing. Although probably a lot less women these days since Tiger's problems have been more below the back.

I know people who have spent time with Tiger. He has always been a certifiable prick. Also please note that the one person outranking him in his "prickdom" was his father.

Apparently the aftereffects of all the PEDs and whores are really difficult.

Sucks watching Tiger slowly breakdown, piece by piece. No telling the extent of his injuries, but hopefully he can come back and play sooner rather than later. The knee injuries never concerned me nearly as much as the back. the back seems to be the kiss of death for a golfer. I have a feeling the remainder of his career will be similar to Fred Couples, that's what I'm hoping for as a Pro Tiger guy. If that's the case, on the right week he will still be ONE OF "the guys to beat" on those weeks, and then the question is can he hold up for 4 rounds. How many times have we seen Fred at the top of a leader board on thurs/fri and watch him slip away on the weekend?

I still put Tiger at the top of my list as the best athlete in my lifetime, thus far. He has played the best golf over a 15 year period that anybody has ever played. I'd argue he was a better golfer than Jack with anybody, but in the end he will go down as the 2nd best golfer to ever play, even in my book. They are measured by majors, right? With the amount and quality of golfers around the world today, I think It's safe to say Jack's record is safe for awhile, maybe forever.

Red Eye, Kermit, GS......you boys were right, he won't break the record. But I've enjoyed the arguments the last few years fellas

Tiger winning 4 straight Majors is an accomplishment that will most likely never be repeated ! I must say that at that time, He was playing golf better than anyone ever has ! JMHO

Between 2000-05 there wasn't been a better golfer on the planet before or since than Tiger. Most anybody who has any common sense knows that. But greatness is one of the hardest things to sustain. You have to be both lucky and good.

Fair enough. I would argue that he played 14 years of the best golf that's ever been played very easily, cause he did.....but there is no point

The PGA did a piss poor job of growing the sport during the TIGER era.
If they would have played there cards correctly they could have converted the Tiger fans into golf fans but they failed miserably in doing that.
So when Tiger fads away so will all the Tiger fans because they were never converted to the game of golf itself.
