People are also forgeting th fact that it was a different ERA with different rules. More points were scored during that time period other other statistical categories due to differences in some of the rules such as hand checking, zone defences, etc.....
How does Kobe take the court every game with you clutching on to his jock strap?

Don't hate just because I stated a fact. Put down the comp, get outside and enjoy life once in awhile Mr. 11000 posts since June 2006.

If your statement about Kobe is "fact" then I guess Kobe did indeed
factually rape that girl in Denver.

Well your argument about it being a different era is correct. But the difference in the rules (hand checking, etc) make it so much easier for the perimeter player today then in the Jordan days.

The rules are designed now to allow the guards to get to the rim.

Today Kobe can drive around his defender on the perimeter untouched, get into the lane and essentially get to the rim without so much as being touched or a foul or flagrant will be called (and Kobe can even throw the stray elbow if he chooses).

In Jordan's day, hand checking was legal, so Jordan would have to fight around a guy pushing and tugging at his waist. Once by him, on the way to the rim, he would have a couple guys waiting to attempt to absolutely hammer him (see the bad boy Pistons or the Knicks). Any hard fouls at the rim in today's game are auto flagrants, technicals, ejections and suspensions. Not in those days. It was risk/reward, if you got to the rim, there was a price to pay. You were going to get knocked down hard.

The rules of todays nba game are geared towards the guards offensively. So while I believe you are a Kobe fan, you inadvertantly just made a great great argument as to why he is still well behind MJ.

Don't tell me Jordan faced weaker teams. The Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets, Sonics and Suns, and my favs back then, Knicks were all great teams. You are talking about the Jordan that faced great centers like my man Patrick Ewing Hakeem, David Robinson, etc in an era when it was a big man's game not a guard's game and he kicked ass.

Do you have any idea how many 50 greatest players of all time he screwed out of a championship. Ewing, Barkley, Stockton and Malone, Shawn Kemp and Payton. Not sure if every single one of these players are 50 greatest but most of them are I'm sure.

I loved watching the NBA back then and the teams were very good believe me.

Kobe is a mega star and nobody can deny that but Jordan had this likeable charming quality that Kobe doesn't have. As far as talent goes, Kobe is better in aspects, and Jordan is better in others. I still say MJ is the best of all time. Kobe is still second.

I was stating the era Jordan played in was different than todays era. More points were scored and other statistical categories due to differences in the rules and how the games were called, zone defenses, hand checking,..etc...which is a FACT....and for some resason zit brings up Colorado...lol

It's about time.
Finally you are making sense.
Right now Jack is greater than Tiger all time PGA.
In five years Tiger may be (and probably will be) the greatest of all time.
But for now, let Tiger play 3 to 5 more years before we can dub him the greatest of all time.
Same applies to Kobe.

Well if Rings alone measure overall greatest in the NBA , Bill Russell has 11 in 13 years playing ... And Wilt gets the nod overall over him with only 2 ... Its all relative. But Jordan is the best.

Patrick Ewing and Afernee Hardaway are the best players of all time!

I'm not just saying that because they are my favorite players of all time.
