John makes some very good common sense conservative points
Max clearly is trying to shape the discussion around his Libertarian ideals.

The number of sick patients relative to the number of beds is the problem. Efforts to slow the spread or flatten the curve is mainly being done to give the USA time to get more equipment and supplies together. Buying time. That equipment would then allow those that get infected to increase their chances of survival. The virus is coming to other parts of the country...just a matter of time.
I think if I recall right you are on the government tit as an employee. There are others on the forum that actually work for a living and we have to show up and do something to get paid. I dont think we are getting our money's worth from federal employees like you that post on the forum all day.
I have a top secret clearance and spent a good portion of my career helping design advanced military weapons for the army and navy that would help allow: fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters that served their country in war to come back alive to have a beer on the fourth of July. Literally within about one hour of my text msg to you last night re "My work mostly unimpeded" both Pinellas and Hillsborough County issued Stay At Home orders with an expected duration of 3 weeks minimum and possibly thru early May
I have not heard *anyone* at local or FL state level declare this moment as "world-ending".
Rather, this is a concerted response from local (here) and state (elsewhere) governmental bodies that are equally made up of GOP-majority and Democratic-majority decision makers
Efforts by anyone to split the various public responses to past seven weeks of increased information into "Repubs are saying one thing and Dems are saying the opposite" seem highly dubious and I am baffled as to any value offered by any such tack.
And Yes....I realize many people from both GOP mindsets and Dem mindsets are expressing such divisive rhetoric. Just a bit surprised that for the moment, you are joining in

It may already be too late for some businesses, even if they get money from the government that only helps pay the bills during this shutdown
