I guess you're not back.

Lmao!!! Only Willie can twist and turn this in to something Sterling "chose" to do.

#1) He would have lost the battle with the owners
#2) The NBA would have taken his team and sold it
#3) You literally have no clue how much the team would be sold for if it wasn't sold through this process

He did not want to sell his team, he was forced to sell it. He had no legal ground to stand on, like I said, the NBA controls its own league and if they want an owner out it will be no problem for them. And they can do it very quickly.

The fact you are making this out to be Donald Sterling's doing and just what he wanted is beyond despicable. Kind of like the way he tried to pretend his election predictions were right even though he lost... lmao! Hilarious stuff.

Why do you think none of those 3 things happened

yeah it would sell regardless for 1.5-2B...Can't really be proven and people will probably cling to otherwise. There might be a slight white guilt/making headlines premium that Ballmer paid but that is obviously hard to quantify.

TV revenue expected to double in a few years, local deal revenue is gonna triple soon and the richest americans are richer than ever right now. Bucks (THE BUCKS!) just sold for 550. Could this be a bubble? Time will tell...

One thing people forget is how quick the sale had to be done. This made it harder for financing to be obtained and significantly whittled the amount of buyers, big reason Ballmer bid was all cash. The NBA told bidders that the sale would be quick so have offers ready to go.

Exactly, I don't get how anyone thinks that billionaires would be suckered in to paying more for a team because it's a quick sale. It might even have gone for more if it was a longer bidding process. Or could be less... but to base Sterling on winning because of the price he got, is ridiculous. I'm sure he'd much rather keep it and pass it down in the family as it's going to be worth far more in the future.

Lmao!!! We got to 60 pages before they moved us! Great work guys. Thankfully this ordeal is over and now we can say what we really want. Dumbass racist Willie thinks his racist buddy Sterling won. You cannot write better comedy than that. The dude was forced to sell or the NBA would have sold it for them. Shelly even tried to keep a position in the team and the NBA said no fucking way. The NBA won this battle clearly and Sterling and his legal team knew from the beginning any fight against this would be useless. Sterling will end this without a single lawsuit and forced to sell his team, and he is the winner?? Lmao!!!

Here is the thing akp....the people that think Sterling is a big winner are people who only value money. Many of these guys think that ones wealth equals whether the person is a winner or loser. They don't care that he will go down as the most disgraced owner in nba history who will die a racist fool. If he has billions in the bank....some consider him a winner.

The truth is I know plenty of people with real money that are complete assholes and losers.....but certain guys will only consider those with wealth as the winners.

and yeah people thinking this was gonna end with Sterling going Henry Hill was pretty funny. This ain't the mob people....

The NBA has changed 1/3rd of owners in the last 5 years and over 1/2 in the last 10...He probably doesn't even know these guys. Someone like Michael Pera or Vivek Ranadive have literally 0 in common with Sterling besides the fact they are both worth 2billion.

Ehh, honestly there is probably some premium based on how big of news the event made but that is mostly offset by how quick the sale had to be done which eliminated some other buyers.

We can't create an alternate universe in which he sells with no racism taping but if we could it would probably sell for a similar #.

There is a lot of truth in this post. Not to mention, $2 billion isn't changing Sterling's life in any way. He had more money than he could spend in lifetime before he sold the Clippers.

Nail, meet coffin. That's exactly it. Who cares if he is a racist, disgraced by his family, an adulterer, banned from the NBA where he couldn't even step foot in his office, lost the team he has owned for 33 years... but he got paid $2 billion. That's a winner?? Lmao. Of course Willie thinks so... he's just happy his fellow racist got paid and he's trying to justify it as him winning because he can't stand the fact that he is getting kicked out for having racist thoughts... lol.

Ridiculous... if you read the first 40 pages, it is way more hardcore than the last couple pages. I even refrained from responding to some insults.

Exactly. He is a winner financially for sure....but I'd be willing to bet if he could get in a time machine today....he would pay 2 billion to have that taped destroyed before its release. I highly doubt he feels like a winner in this deal.

He liked the idea of being front row at his games and being the owner of the nba team more than anything else.

nobody was more right in this thread than me and it isn't even close

I called the sale price in the 1.5-2B range when people thought a billion would be a windfall.

I dunno, I think that those of us who said Sterling wouldn't own the team by NEXT season, when it turns out that he won't own it even before the end of THIS season(and, throw in the "bonus" of saying he'd never fight to keep the team given the NBA's constitution), were "more right," but, that's merely an opinion, and, to each his own...

Yeah I did think he would atleast try to sue. Figured he has made a lifetime of fighting in court that he would do so here but the deck was too stacked....

Ended up having to push 3 bets on the vote being 29-0

I thought he would sue to be reinstated in to the NBA so he doesn't die as a disgraced past owner who can't even go to an NBA game. Because the lawsuit against Silver for his punishment was much more possible than the lawsuit against the owners voting.
