+1yep, I called it to a T
bought out on favorable terms, financial windfall, no vote by the owners which would have set themselves up for costly litigation lest they never made a disparaging remark in a private conversation.
people who thought there would be a 29-0 vote don't really know the legal system all that well. You can't vote to remove somebody for doing something you yourself have done, you can't force a partner out of the partnership for ethical violations if all or most or many of the other partners have committed ethical violations using the low standard you set.
Sterling walks away with more than twice the FMV of the franchise. I'm thinking other owners he's friends with and his family talked some sense into him. (1) take the money (2) don't put your friends in the league through a nightmare, you may lose friends.
I think his recently disclosed "mental incapacity" opens the door to remove the lifetime ban when things settle down. Can't do it just yet, would smell too fishy and there's still a lot of hate (oh the irony).
If the offer was for 1 billion dollars or less, I doubt we have such a convenient resolution.
PS: my two posts cited above were posted 5/5 and 5/7, long before the 2 billion dollars were put on the table

I am back to ignoring him, just don't enjoy his ignorant non-stop drivel
I'll only read his "lock it or to the bank threads", looking to fade his losing ass that never seems to keep a consistent record for some weird reason. Why might that be?

I guess you're not back.
Lmao!!! Only Willie can twist and turn this in to something Sterling "chose" to do.
#1) He would have lost the battle with the owners
#2) The NBA would have taken his team and sold it
#3) You literally have no clue how much the team would be sold for if it wasn't sold through this process
He did not want to sell his team, he was forced to sell it. He had no legal ground to stand on, like I said, the NBA controls its own league and if they want an owner out it will be no problem for them. And they can do it very quickly.
The fact you are making this out to be Donald Sterling's doing and just what he wanted is beyond despicable. Kind of like the way he tried to pretend his election predictions were right even though he lost... lmao! Hilarious stuff.
You owe my a dollar. Lol. I told you what he would do. Guy can't help himself.
Where is acebb? He always runs from threads after he gets massacred....
Good calls ak
nobody was more right in this thread than me and it isn't even close
I called the sale price in the 1.5-2B range when people thought a billion would be a windfall.
