I’m sure the death rate is lower than 6.5%. The under reporting of cases
and the confusion about the cause of death make any rate suspect. The only
real conclusion Is that covid-19 is significantly more deadly than the flu.
that by itself makes it damn dangerous and worthy of many of the mitigation
methods employed; even trump understands this despite his personal
resistance to science.

2,108,933 cases
137,053 deaths
6.5% death rate

What's so funny? The simple math or the deaths?

Your denominator is wrong, and you know it, but it doesn't stop you from extrapolating that to a billion infections.
Infection death rate and CONFIRMED/TESTED infection death rate are two totally different things, apples and oranges, but you use them interchangeably to fit your fear-mongering narrative.

You know what's funny? These hoaxers were perfectly happy with the death rate when it was 1.4% a month ago (US) but now that it's tripled since, they suddenly claim it's a conspiracy.

Whether it's 6.5%, 4.5%, 2.5%, 1.5%.... it's far deadlier than the flu.

So HarryCaray, what is your best estimate on the mortality rate.
Since you are an expert poker player which means you have
to base decisions upon uncertain data; I know you can easily
interpolate a % that is reasonable to you.

I think once you have both ends of the data chain and make conclusions it is interpolate. But if I’m incorrect, I stand corrected.

I don't think it's a conspiracy. Just a flawed metric.
Anyone who understands how it is calculated understands why.
As long as it's taken with that grain of salt, it's fine. But the point is you can't use that # and extrapolate to a billion infections to get to a # of deaths..

Thanks Mango...name calling simply means you have lost the argument. Others here have tried to provide you a lesson in healthcare statistics to no avail. At least you could quote US numbers to make your perspective somewhat more relevant rather than just plain wrong. In about 45 states, this is a bad flu season...you can do the math if you want. Every citizen should comply with the task force guidelines and the majority of states should open immediately with those guidelines in place. In October 2021, if the CDC predicts 80,000 will die of the flu in the coming year, would any governor order the state to shut down?

If South Dakota had a stay at home order, the meat packing plant would have been deemed essential and stayed open. Eighty percent of cases are in that radius. You will have to dig a little deeper to find your "Wow."

Over 500 employees at the Smithfield pork-processing plant have tested positive for the virus, and the factory, which employs 3,700 people, was shuttered until further noticeover the weekend. Over 100 nonemployees in the area have gotten sick after having come into contact with the plant workers, the Argus Leader newspaper reported, citing data from the state Health Department.

Post the proof. Not some opinion piece by Superbowl Fauci.

Here's the proof asshole, assuming you can read. US leads the world in infections and deaths and lags most countries in testing per capita. Here's the link https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
