Know of somebody who just told me a terrible story about somebody they know who is a nurse and dropped dead from Covid yesterday at work. Had no idea that she had it. In fact on Monday she was telling everybody in the family to be sure they wore masks and gloves. In Florida, on the job. Never had any health problems. Didn’t feel sick. Just dropped dead. Tested positive for Covid-19.

Real life

Maybe we should include this as....the annual flu?

Can't wait for the conversation equating European countries with higher rates and mass immigration and borders. Maybe clown politicians will finely be made to take responsibility. No lefties want to deal with that. Even people on the right(especially those who benefit) don't either.

I don't think it's a conspiracy. Just a flawed metric.
Anyone who understands how it is calculated understands why.
As long as it's taken with that grain of salt, it's fine. But the point is you can't use that # and extrapolate to a billion infections to get to a # of deaths..

Sample size calculation is an important part of coming up with empirical data for population as a whole. It's funny how you readily believe the flu stats as fact even though they're merely estimates based on sample size calculation. They don't actually test every person in the world.

What's true is no other Pandemic has been tested more than the Coronavirus in human history so it's the most accurate data in history. Plus a month ago, you hoaxers were claiming 1.5% death rate would drop to .5% with more testing. On the contrary, its more than tripled since. And data right now is more accurate than it was a month ago due to the larger sample size.

You are 100% correct. The Fairy said exactly that. I remember it well.

Thanks Mango...name calling simply means you have lost the argument. Others here have tried to provide you a lesson in healthcare statistics to no avail. At least you could quote US numbers to make your perspective somewhat more relevant rather than just plain wrong. In about 45 states, this is a bad flu season...you can do the math if you want. Every citizen should comply with the task force guidelines and the majority of states should open immediately with those guidelines in place. In October 2021, if the CDC predicts 80,000 will die of the flu in the coming year, would any governor order the state to shut down?

Well, if you had to deal with dozens of "it's just like the flu" idiots every day, you'd probably become frustrated too.

Did you know that Coronavirus deaths in the US have already surpassed the flu deaths this year and many previous years? And we're probably not even at the half point yet. Care you answer why California has the largest population of any states yet not in Top 5 of cases or deaths from the Coronavirus?

If CDC announced no vaccine for the next season's flu, of course there would panic. That's Coronavirus in a nutshell except it's far more contagious and far deadlier.

Simple question.... would there be more or less Americans infected with the Coronavirus if no stay at home/social distancing orders were ever issued?

Per the table above, I wish we would have followed the lead of China (57 cases per million) or Iran...only 929/1m...that is to say, just don't report the true number knowing there are plenty of people who will believe/quote those stats. To answer your questions: 1) flu deaths surpassed by virus? = c'mon, I know you know the answer to that one 2) California? = Reflection of level of compliance with federal guideline AND Cal state population density. The Task Force docs have covered this. In most states, there is a correlation between population density and positive tests. You probably understand that, for instance, with NYC in the center, the large area of influence based on the number of ppl from surrounding areas that go into the city to work and then take the virus back home. 3) flu vaccine? = When developed, docs/scientists are unsure of the level effectiveness versus the strain(s) of flu that will occur in that season. After the season, they have data...it hasn't been over 50% since 2013. People should practice the guidelines during flu season with or without a vaccine. We don't have to shut down the economy. 4) more or less people affected if no shut down? = More. I'll throw in the "even one life is too many and it's God's will," for the challenged and the rollers. Meanwhile, actions have to be balanced with the potential outcomes. It is a high bar to suspend constitutional rights. When you work in healthcare, you understand that people die, everyday you practice universal precautions (virus or not) and most citizens understand that for about 45 states, this is overreach and scare tactics by both the media and the government who want to take another step to ensure people are totally dependent on them. Let me know if I can answer any more of your questions.

True, although entertaining. Half-Witmer is alot better than what Michigan residents are calling her (Hilter-Witmer).

well put

we are a collection of the most worthless and despicable generations ever assembled. Weak, complaining ass, pussified, never having faced an actual national hardship-having, selfish pieces of shit.

we have it better it terms of just about every facet of life enjoying comforts, luxuries, and conveniences that our grandparents and great grandparents could never imagine.

thus we are spoiled and the biggest offense that most these days will ever encounter is the assault of "fake news" from the rival news station or website.

when did we stop being humans and Americans and become bitchy little poltical sub divisions that can't fathom rebuilding the world's greatest nations economies like it has done in the past.

I take some offense to this, " never having faced an actual national hardship-having" I think you face as many hardships as you manage in life. You can never rest , you always have to push to elevate your socioeconomic class, you always have to elevate the process of learning to behave in a way that is acceptable to society. You always need to elevate the application of mental and physical effort in order to achieve value over others. You need to control the tools and machines of technology so they never over take you, or take away your freedom. you always have to push to elevate the ability of manipulation of the human environment, and you must divide and conquer. .

Data is not more accurate now because you don’t know the extent of who has it. Death rate is lower than the reported number because they’re only testing the really sick still. Not enough tests to go around still. Hell I know 8-10 people who have it, doctors told them they have it, but they’re not a confirmed positive.

rate much lower and it will drop once they test the less symptomatic peeps.

Here's the proof asshole, assuming you can read. US leads the world in infections and deaths and lags most countries in testing per capita. Here's the link https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
