you also said you signed up for your dream job a month ago and then signed a contract that didn't include any of these amazing benefits you apparently thought were just going to be given to you because you were really cool. go check that weed thread yourself. I'd be pissed too if I thought I was signing up for a benefits package that I didn't receive. I'd also consider myself a fucking idiot if I didn't ask for anything in writing, and was 27 years old with some great prior experience like you said you are. maybe you can blame Obama for these problems too though? haha
like i said, GL at the new job, hope your cousin doesn't hate you for your decision, that is the person whose opinion you should value most.

keep the continue - hognuts

If I didn't know any better sir I'd swear you were trying to hurt my feelings. :):)

Loyalty is long gone in the business world, people staying at a company for years and years is something of the past. I can tell you from personal experiance that you think you are doing the right thing by staying loyal until they want to get rid of you and that is all out the window. You have to do what is right for you!

I think you are very right.

lol, I feel like a broken record.

I have a couple years experience in financial services.
but that has nothing to do with being the number 1 person. That was by pure luck of being placed in that location. I am very grateful.

Only thing I'm calling bullshit on is the whole "number 1 person in that position in the country."
There are a million people in the financial services industry. Series 7 and Series 66 are very low licenses in the financial world. Not saying they aren't valuable because they are necessary but most people go well beyond those licenses. I just don't see how that translates into the number 1 person in your position in the country. Also don't even know how one could even remotely measure that type of statistic.

This is my take on the Justin/Deshi thing.
Justin originally said in the last thread company B was his dream job.
In this thread he says company A is his dream job.

What I think happened was since company B is the one that offered him the job first Justin willed himself into believing that company B was his real dream job even though company A was his original real dream job.

Once he got to company B he realized that no matter how much he tried to will himself into believing company B was his dream job reality just would not cooperate.

Lucky for him company A(the original dream job) came calling after justin thought company A was no longer in the picture and threw him a lifeline.

This allowing him to return to reality and call company B what it was all along his 2nd or 3rd choice.

CFA representing.

Go get your CFP.

Do what you got to do...the people at your soon to be current job will only talk about you for so long. Then it will be like you never existed.
But go ahead and cross off any jobs in the future that are linked to any of your bosses there now though.

Maybe he meant #1 person in the company not country.
For if he meant #1 in the country this would put Warren Buffet at #2 behind Justin Cruise.

not sure this question has yet been presented in thread (at least I didnt see it)

what if Company A1 offers a job in two weeks.. .. in other words is there a company that is indeed better than even company A who you had your eye on?

if so this thread might be revamped again in a month....

I dont consider this to be true.
Most of the business world is forgive and forget.
I have left places in the past in ways that would be considered in bridge burning fashion only to later do some big deals with those very same people.

The business world is about talent and making a company better.

If I can make a company better in the future it should make no difference what happened in the past.

Do you think the Cleveland Cavs would not take Lebron James back if they had the opportunity?

Maybe not the "business" world. Try the "finance" world. It's amazing how many people are intertwined because people are consistently hopping ships here.
You screw over a manager(s) that hired you, and he has any semblance of pull at another place you want in...not going to happen.
In this industry, academics, credentials, and experience are everywhere, all day everyday.
It's about the relationships you keep or blow up.

If this kid is #1 at a multinational company (moving up from just a national company) then I'm really Tom Brady but we don't have a game until this weekend so I have time to post.

I've always said it those that tell us how great they are, how happy they are, how rich they are, etc really aren't. Those that don't talk about that kind of stuff and have nothing to prove, probably do have all those things.

Hey Tom - Peyton here. Hoping to see you next weekend. Cheers. (Glad to see I'm not the only one not biting - reminds me of the Jaguara stuff)

You're a smart guy chop. seriously. Spot on.

We had our differences at first and i'm sure we will disagree on other topics as well but I think we're starting to understand each other.

That's a great thought and I plan to. I think the firm will pay for it most likely.

nah murph. This is where I want to be. I won't bother looking anymore. And if any recruiters call I will politely let them know I'm happy where I am.
