Rule #1 - Do not burn any bridges. You might be coming back to them with your tail between you legs.

I think by doing this I am automatically burning that bridge with the company and my immediate management if they happen to move to other firms down the road.

I will definitely update this monday after I tell her

Will you have a televised show on CNBC like Lebron James did on ESPN announcing your destination?
Please let me know so I can set up my DVR.

So justin could you go into any kind of detail about what it is about you never liked about company B and why company A was such a better fit?
Since you are leaving company B can you tell us just how egregious the lies were that they told you before hiring on?
We all know its very common for a company to over promise in the interview process.
Just trying to figure out if there's was more so then normal.

I know you said it was a long story but you also know that I live for Justin Cruise threads.
No story can be too long if its about my forum hero Justin Cruise.

didn't you say your uncle got you the job??? are you at all concerned about burning a bridge in your own family? considering he got you the in, I'd have run any of this by him first as it sounds like he is a good mentor.

that's actually a good point. It was my cousin that helped me get the interview for the job that I am now leaving. I called her first to explain everything to her and she understood.

If he is a good uncle he would understand and not hold that against him.
If his uncle does hold that against him his uncle sucks.

I wasn't aware of that. I'd def let him in on this before hand. Might piss him off to find out 2nd hand. He deserves to know.

Justin Cruise = drama queen.

No shit. You took a job, you found a better one. So take it...

This isn't an ethical question it's a common sense one. If you feel the company will pay you more, is more of what you want to do and will be a better long term fit, then take it???

For one thing I was flat out lied to about the benefit package. My manager also told me she would spend the first two weeks with me for hands on training. I saw her for one hour on my first day and haven't seen her since. This has made my first two weeks complete hell. I was also under the impression that this firm would be holding my investment licenses, only to find out after I started that they were going to let them expire because they decided they weren't a necessity in a management role. In the interview process they completely hid the fact that the territory for my sales people was in direct competition with the sales staff for another department, which basically would cut our results in half and make our numbers look bad to the big wigs (both departments selling the same things). I was told that it would be a 50 hour work week only to find out from other employees after I started that to hit our goals it is at least a 90 hour work week. Finally the bonus structure was nothing like they spoke of in the interviews (i should have asked to see it in writing before I started)

There are some other culture type things as well. But most of this stuff I could have gotten past. Company A was my first choice all along I just thought they had dropped me from the process when really they hadn't.
