When I pointed out that this nut would have just stabbed more people and/or ran over people with his car (because that is what he did and was trying to do) absent guns, guesser responded that I was engaging in some sort of "false equivalence"

2. Moderator BAS points out that thread is political with post in the thread, moves thread to political forum.
3. The stiff posts reply in thread while it is in political forum
4. Thread is then moved to Rubber Room
5. Stiff and forum weirdo who cheers on stiff accuse me of lying about this endlessly.

No and no. Undergoing a Thorough Background check which includes psychological testing would not cause you to forfeit your right to defend yourself. Getting a gun SHOULD be difficult.

It just slows down the process and makes it a lot more expensive when someone might not have time or money on their side. Getting a gun should be easy for a law abiding citizen.

3)ABSOLUTELY False. Vit sent a PM to BAS to move it out of the Political Forum, lest some idiot Like Ace would accuse him of Posting in the Poly Forum. Of course said idiot Did. Poster Slapshot verified that Vit did not in fact, post while the thread was in the Poly Forum in post 39 of the thread, but posted while it was in the Main Offshore Forum. Vit offered to have Mod BAS verify that as additional Proof.
4)True, and that's where Vit continued Posting. When ace was YET AGAIN revealed as nothing but a Liar, he disappeared from the thread where his lying was proved, and starting accusing Vit Up here of violating his bet and posting in the Poly Forum.
5)Vit and I RIGHTLY Accuse Ace of Lying yet again. All Ace has is His word that Vit Violated the Bet. His word is the most meaningless word at the RX.

Yes, it's hindsight, and of course, it would have been the preferable outcome.
What does the mental competency check consist of in Ohio? Is it administered by a Professional in the field on call at the Sheriff's office? If so, that's a good thing and what it should be, and I applaud them. If not, then it's pretty meaningless.

Secondly, you really need to explain what's irrelevant about this asshole stabbing three people to death. What exactly does that mean...that this whole episode would have been considered meaningless if he would have only stabbed a few people to death, but not shot anyone? Considering an equal amount of people died as a result of stabbing and shooting, it couldn't be any more relevant in this case. Why don't you ask the parents of the stabbing victims if they feel those deaths weren't really relevant to this rampage?

If anything, stabbing someone to death is more gruesome to me than shooting them. It's one thing to pull a trigger and send hot lead into someone's flesh from a few feet away, but hacking someone to death usually takes multiple stabbings to get the job done. It's probably one of the slowest and most painful ways to go. You've got to be pretty fucking deranged and full of hatred to do that to another person.

One final point...didn't the cops come visit this guy multiple times before he went on his rampage? He was able to sweet talk his way out of any trouble for posting threatening YouTube videos. Why wouldn't he have been able to pull the same wool over the eyes of a shrink whose job it would be to do "extensive psychological testing"?

The horrific stabbings are irrelevant to the discussion of gun control. What happened to those guys is, of course, tragic.
Yes, which is precisely why Professional Screening by a qualified Professional Shrink, who is far more qualified to find mental illness than a few cops, is something we should demand of all gun applicants. Is it foolproof? Of course not. Is it better than having a few non professionals come and visit? Of course.

3)Slapshots' post exposing Ace as a LIAR yet again was post 45, not post 39. My error. Slapshot had been going at it with Vit throughout the thread, so his verification of where Vit posted is even more meaningful, and goes to slapshot's integrity in the matter. In this Poly Forum Hellhole, where partisanship rules over honesty, it would be a rarity.

I think this mass-killing has no bearing on the gun control issue at all.

By stabbing, using his vehicle and a weapon shows that even without a gun, this guy was going to go on a killing spree regardless.

In the back of my mind, I think if he didn't have a gun, he would have went even further possibly by using homemade explosives, IED's, arson, and such.
