Normal? This kid was "normal" with the limited background checks currently in place.

Hey dumbass:

SANTA BARBARA, California (Reuters) - Police in the California community where a man killed six college students said on Monday they had no grounds to search the 22-year-old suspect's home when they met with him in April over a report that he had posted disturbing videos.

The disclosure that the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department sent deputies to Elliot Rodger's door just weeks before Friday night's shooting rampage has raised questions about whether police could have done more to prevent the attack.

Hey dumbass:

  • Officers interviewed him on April 30 and found him to be a 'perfectly polite, kind and wonderful human'

Watching you flail away with these loony talking points is both funny and tragic.

You have no clue as to whether or not the background checks in place are "limited" or not.

You are so comically ignorant on this topic it is sad.

The NRA has won. They want as few checks and restrictions as possible, because they are only interested in protecting Gun Manufacturers. Not society.

Hey dumbass, the NRA has no influence in California.

You have been provided references showing the anti-gun people bragging about how strict California's gun laws are.

Instead of showing everyone how stupid you are in post after post, maybe it should occur to you that the stupid slogans you are shouting "deep background checks" have no actual practical effect in the real world (and they would be impossible to do) Which is why the Democrats who have been authoring California's strict gun control laws for decades haven't bothered to implement them.

But when you're both ignorant and stupid, shouting "the NRA!!!" makes more sense. Of course.

It might have at least made it harder for him to obtain the guns he did legally. Psychological testing and evaluation should be part of every background check for gun ownership.
What about the knife he attacked the other 3 with?...

Just another issue that's pretty much driven by one party over another.

Liberals want to make it hard for those who want to bear arms, and republicans go into a fit.

Republicans want to make stricter laws on voting identification, and Liberals go into a fit.

Party versus Party. Nothing new here.

If they banned guns for everyone, only the criminals would have guns... there are WAYYYYY to many unaccounted firearms in the united states to have this happen. Making a law abiding citizen go through checks, doctors, waiting periods and such makes no sense... when some gangbanger can get a hold of a gun in less then a minute if he wanted to.

Nope, BOTH parties are in the tank with the Gun Lobby. Of course every citizen applying for a gun should go through all of those things. But you are correct, that ship has sailed, and it will never happen.

Psychological testing and evaluation. This sicko was undergoing treatment for years? And yet he legally got multiple guns? There were enough red flags that should have prevented this guy from obtaining Guns legally if we had REAL, DEEP background checking. Will it always weed out sickos like this? No, nothing will, but anything that will weed out some is beneficial to society, don't you think. But it's a moot point, and I get it. The NRA has won. They want as few checks and restrictions as possible, because they are only interested in protecting Gun Manufacturers. Not society.

Hey dumbass, everything you said here is comically ignorant. So, Let's go to the experts:

Solutions that focus on reducing crimes by the mentally ill will make only a small dent in the nation’s rate of gun-related murders, ranging from mass killings to shootings that claim a single victim. It’s not just that the mentally ill represent a minority of the country’s population; it’s also that the overlap between mental illness and violent behavior is poor.

...

Those who suffer from mental illness are much more likely to harm themselves than other people.

http://www.nationaljournal.com/maga...-would-do-little-to-end-gun-violence-20130124

Another:

Although the recent mass killings (in Aurora, Colo., Tucson, Ariz., and at Virginia Tech) were committed by young men believed to have severe mental illness, the vast majority of those with mental illness are no more likely to commit acts of violence, and are no more likely to want to inflict harm, than the general public. As the director of the National Institute of Mental Health, Thomas Insell, said, those with severe mental illness, known as SMI, are more likely to be violent, particularly during a psychotic episode with paranoid delusions, but "mental illness contributes very little to the overall rate of violence in the community. Most people with SMI are not violent, and most violent acts are not committed by people with SMI."

http://articles.courant.com/2013-01...30125_1_mental-illness-mental-health-disorder

Another:

Mental illness is the cause of fewer mass shootings than the public perceives, Appelbaum said. "If you look at the lists that are put together of those kinds of events, they are primarily family and workplace violence episodes," he said.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/31/mental-health-gun-violence_n_2583986.html

The idea that there is some big problem in America where "mentally ill" people illegally purchase firearms and kill people in is silly.

But of course this comically ignorant loon is suggesting a "solution" in search of a non-existent problem.

What about it? Has nothing to do with him going on a shooting spree with legally obtained guns.

Uh, your total disregard for the people stabbed to death shows that you have nothing but a pathetic political agenda.

This is all 20/20 hindsight but I wish somebody in the vicinity of the knife/gun attacks would have had a legal gun to stop the guy before anybody else got injured or killed dont you?.....Always has to be for something to happen first but Id bet CCW permit apps will be going up in California & especially around that area & that College...
Below is a copy & paste for my States CCW requirements one line in bold by me for your convenience:
7. Take your documents to the sheriff's office and apply for your license. As part of your application, you must:

  • Present your completed application, Certificate of Competency (or documentation of equivalent experience), and passport-sized color photo.
  • Present a valid photo I.D., such as your driver's license.
  • Pass a criminal background check and mental competency check.
  • Submit to having your fingerprints electronically scanned or inked and rolled onto a card.
  • Attest that you have read the Attorney General's pamphlet on Ohio's concealed carry laws.

It means that if the nut only stabbed 3 (or more) people guesser wouldn't care.

This goof is only here to screech against the NRA.
This sign would have to go up if guesser moved in next door

No surprise, coming from continuous PROVEN LIAR Ace that he steers the topic away from guns, and tries to bring Knives into it. Irrelevant.
His latest PROVEN lie was stating for a fact that Vit violated his bet and posted in the Poli Forum. It was just another Lie in the Continuing Lying World of Ace, and of course, he just ignored it and is on to his next lie.
You are a shameless, liar, with zero morals.

This is the first I've heard of vit posting here since the Super Bowl. Where did this supposedly take place?

Secondly, you really need to explain what's irrelevant about this asshole stabbing three people to death. What exactly does that mean...that this whole episode would have been considered meaningless if he would have only stabbed a few people to death, but not shot anyone? Considering an equal amount of people died as a result of stabbing and shooting, it couldn't be any more relevant in this case. Why don't you ask the parents of the stabbing victims if they feel those deaths weren't really relevant to this rampage?

If anything, stabbing someone to death is more gruesome to me than shooting them. It's one thing to pull a trigger and send hot lead into someone's flesh from a few feet away, but hacking someone to death usually takes multiple stabbings to get the job done. It's probably one of the slowest and most painful ways to go. You've got to be pretty fucking deranged and full of hatred to do that to another person.

One final point...didn't the cops come visit this guy multiple times before he went on his rampage? He was able to sweet talk his way out of any trouble for posting threatening YouTube videos. Why wouldn't he have been able to pull the same wool over the eyes of a shrink whose job it would be to do "extensive psychological testing"?

I'm all for some gun control when it comes to somebody being able to get a weapon that can kill 50 people in seconds but in this case the nut was going to kill a lot of people no matter what. So I am not going to blame the NRA or anyone else besides the nut job. I am not going to criticize the father either, I am sure I would blame a whole lot had it be me in the situation.

Can somebody post the thread where Vit posted? TIA
