Every book I've ever seen shows that 5 busts slightly more (we're only talking about 1% or so).6 is slightly more not less then 5
my stragety chart from our dealer instructor has the player doubleing on 12 vs a 4-6, so maybe that is was is altering my view, like i said, i was never a big bj player before hand
my favorite thing is that people actually believe bad players can influence there chances of winning, as though the cards are set in a predetermined order. oh let me sit this one out and change the cards! idiots. even otherwise intelligent people make comments like this. it is sad and pathetic to watch at times.
A dealers greatest chance of busting is with a 5 - approx 42%
I've been playing BJ for 60+, there's no substitute for BS played PROPERLY unless you're a counter. Study it until you recite it exactly, IF you're serious about reducing the house "edge". Never hit H12 vs 14,15,16, and NEVER dbl it no mattr what. Always dbl a S hand vs 3-6, vs 3 S 18 only. Always hit S18 vs 9, 10, A!! I personaly dbl ALL 11's, some don't vs A. When I was much younger B4 all the 6 & 8 deck shoes life was easier. Play ONLY 3-2 BJ PO!! Don't dbl any S Hand vs 2 or 7. BOL & press when on a roll!! There's much more, but PLEASE study BS, it's like debits & credits if you're a bookeeper, i.e. a MUST!!! OH last but NOT least MM as in all gambling.<><>
Too bad you don't even know proper basic strategy, and half your advice
is wrong.
Errors in your post:
1. For *any* number of decks (1-8+) you double soft 18 vs. a 2 when dealer
hits soft 17
2. For 4 or more decks, you don't double 11 vs. Ace when dealer stands on
soft 17
3. "pressing when you're on a roll" Being "on a roll" has absolutely no
effect on future results, and in most likelihood means that the count has
gone negative, and pressing is the opposite of what you should do. Unless
you are counting cards, "pressing" means that you are putting more money
out there in a -EV situation.
