Maybe Revere has left, or had business to tend to. Obviously money is not an issue with him. I do admit the numerous bets do look ridiculous, but I continue to side with the arguement that "A bet is a bet". Cmon, we all know here, whether we will admit it on here or not, that WWTS would of kept his money had those wagers lost.

Thats a good point. I wonder if hypothetically the bet lost and WSEX kept Revere's money if he would use the Beantown Jim theory. Hey Cascade if a bet is not a bet why dont you give me my money back?

ChuckSims--

There is no maximum posted on their site for soccer betting. Many European and Asian books routinely take $50k+ wagers in one shot (ask acw).

Steve and others-

Q: "What was your reason for putting in so many bets with different amounts?"

As I mentioned above, because of the way your software works you can place as many bets as you want but you can't place 2 bets in a row for the same amount.

Q: "Were you trying to sneak them past us when noone was in?"

According to your site, "our phone lines are open 10AM eastern until the last west coast game starts 7 days a week." Your phone center was closed at the time I wanted to place my bets, and the game started before 10AM eastern.

Q: "Is there a reason why you gave us a phoney phone number and email address?"

The phone number I gave you when I signed up was apparently an old number. The email address should have been correct otherwise I wouldn't have been able to use neteller to send you funds.

Q: "Do you think we take $40,000 on soccer without moving the line?"

I am not going to insult your intelligence and tell you I wasn't surprised that the line didn't move. Nevertheless I dont see how it is my responsibility to make sure you move it, unless the line was an obvious human error which it wasn't. If the line was +220 instead of +120 that would be a different story. I would have loved to put some of the action at other books, such as CaribUK.com or William Hill which had the same price (+120) but they don't accept US customers. If you didn't want the exposure you should have laid it off.

Steve I have nothing but the highest respect for your book. Mostly because of Jay Cohen. I consider him a heroic figure in the offshore betting world. It was not my intention to damage your reputation by posting here, but I honestly think I am right in this case and I didn't realize it would cause such a stir.

Your software needs to be fixed, because as far as bettors are concerned if the screen says "Your wager is accepted" then it should be a bet, regardless of the amount.

Hache, not disagreeing with you at all.. I am still waiting to see what Steve has to say in response to when the bets were actually cancelled.

I am just curious why Revere has not called WSEX. I mean, the guy spent 2 hours placing these bets, i wouldn't think a 5 minute call would be that difficult.

In fact, there he is now.

No ones software is perfect.

I remember someone that placed 1,000 $1 bets because the 10 cents juice was rounded down to 0. He was pretty pissed off when they deducted the $100 from his account for the juice on the lost wager.

Has WSEX ever taken multiple increments of the same wager from one player totaling more than the house limit in the past and graded it as won/lost? If the answer to this question is yes, Revere is unquestionably right.

Rever14,

A simple question. Do you want to call me and try to resove this? Would you like to let the Shrink mediate this? We obviously disagree on
some issues. I would be happy to discuss it with you

Steve, have you spoken with Revere at all since this came about?

I mean, did you speak with him before he decided to post this here?

Just curious if he ever tried to work this out, prior to posting about it on the forums.

Fix it or pay it......at least in your case. This one is MUCH different-and the player doesn't seem to want to talk.

Uncle B,

We spoke briefly during the day. We were both a little busy. I had interactive golf and he was busy at work. He said he would call back
in a couple hours. The next thing I knew he was posting here. He seemed very reasonable when I first talked to him.

yeah the whole 'we tried to reach you!' thing is pretty lame. since the bets were cancelled well after game end, what exactly were they trying to reach him for?! to let him know they were gunna screw / had screwed him?!

I mean from what I understand WSEX is a top 7 book. so act like 1 and cancel the bet with a pc just like he placed it, with a pc. and do it before, or at least during the said contest. don't need to shoot the customer an email for that.

at the very worst WSEX can take the 50k theyre stiffing him (revere) of and invest it in fixing the software. if not, it just means you'd invite the same opportunity again. I have no doubts a similar wager has been placed before, theyve been open way too long. .. software been the same way too long to have this be the first time.

Not so fast D2bets. Do you mean cancelled CANCELLED or CANCELLED cancelled?

D2bets,

It is a little complicated. I was notified about 30 minutes before the match about the problem. I instructed the girls to contact him
and cancel the bets. We were unable to reach him. The bets weren't cancelled officially off
our system until after the match. There were 2 reasons for this. First there was no supervisor in at the time who could cancel wagers. The second reason was I wanted to speak with him and decide how much action we were going to accept at that number.
