Well gee eh? Dont you think thats a little extreme?

Of course its extreme, but ya know what, you could be right. If the same sort of trick were pulled in a 1st world country, not only would the funds be frozen and an investigation started, but local authorities would be involved and this would be considered a cyber crime.

Maybe Antigua and Barbuda should stand up and the Attourney General there should indict this Revere character, saying that if he ever sets foot in the land of Antigua and Barbuda, that he will be arrested and prosecuted. Now that's extreme!

Exactly, it is time to prove a point. Freeze this clowns money and send it to be arbitrated.

WSEX does not need the money and it is time scammers should pay the penalty for their shaddy actions.

I hope they keep this guy's money tied up till christmas.

The perfect solution to this would be for Steve and Revere to meet in the middle. Pay him half and be done with it, it's that simple.

Lifesabet and eh?
What are you guys smoking. If this happened in Vegas, the casino commission would make WSEX honor the bet since they accepted it. Period. It's only a "cyber crime" if you hack into someone's system to alter the data and circumvent the programming. That was NOT the case here.
As for calling in, WSEX call center was not open yet. The game was at 7am in the US (heh, that's the afternoon in Europe). The player made the bets 1-3 hours before the game started. You can't cry that he bet at an off hour, since relative to the game time, it was reasonable.
WSEX can't just post overnight lines and then take a shot at a player when they admit knew about the play before the game.
WSEX's bank account is full of the money from big bets where a sharp player had info and the game still went for the book. They can't just refuse to pay because the game didn't go their way (after they knew the final score).

With all due respect I don't think he deserves anything close to that. You don't make 10 straight bets on an event let alone 80 without feeling your getting away with something. It was mentioned he played twice before betting a dime a game, a nickle at one price another nickle at an ajusted price. IMO anything over a dime is a gift.

Half my ass, this guy should have to pay for causing this ruckass. Improper actions should have consequences. You pull the scam and get caught you should have to pay the price.

Sad to see some people think this board as judge and jury to come and cry to sympathetic ears.

I for one will never play at WSEX if they pay this guy anything more than the first bet of a nickel.

Books need to stand up and get tough with scammers, legit gamblers will never hold that against them.

The books would be better off having the bleeding hearts that would take offence to such hard actions take their business elsewhere.

"If this happened in Vegas, the casino commission would make WSEX honor the bet since they accepted it"

Pretty funny analogy! First of all I doubt any Vegas sportsbook would take 400.00 let alone 40,000. Could you se a guy betting 400.00 a game and getting back in line to bet it again, and again, and again. I have heard there are a few bad book operators in Vegas but I guarantee the dumbest ones would have taken it off the board before it got to 4K.

Hache,
Why should the player settle for half? The line was +120 not +60.
Do you think if the player had lost that WSEX would have given back even 1 penny of the money? No chance. They would have claimed that the player confirmed dozens of wagers and was responsible for every one.
Well, WSEX knew about the bets before the game started. At one point, Revere's team was actually behind 1-0. If WSEX had cancelled the bet at the point in the game when the player was actually losing, I might have sympathy for their position. But they cancelled it AFTER the game and the player won. You KNOW they watched the game or were checking it every 2 minutes.

As for not being able to contact the player... does a player have to sit by his phone after every wager for fear he will get a call cancelling it?
One of the Holy Grail's for gamblers is hearing about an overnight car accident involving a player. This is why most books have overnight limits. Duh.

I read this whole thread & I'm sorry but this guy shouldn't get paid in full.

Many of us on here are known to put some nice cash down on a game & even if you don't do so yourself, you & everyone else would know that a line would move with that kind of action in place.

What gambler can look someone dead in the face & say with a 100% confidence that they could get down mid 5 figures on a game & the price would stay the same? The answer is no one!

He clearly was trying to take a shot at them. He should only get paid their limit wagers. I mean come on, how do you look when your contact info is incorrect as well? Anyone who would spend 2+ hours trying to get down on one game has some serious bad intentions in my opinion.

Worst comes to worst they should just open the books to an unbiased 3rd party & let all the wagers on this game be shown so it can clearly show there wasn't enough action on the otherside to warrant that line staying status quo. Then pay the man to the limits & be done with him.

I also believe WSEX wouldn't have kept the money if the wagers loss. Unlike some of you on these sites, some people can be honest & do the right thing.

DickW-
...if the Vegas casino had online software. The point of my analogy was that in the US the casino would be forced to accept the wager if the player did not violate a posted rule or hack the system.

EGD-
You think the player was taking a shot by placing bets over a 2 hour period.
Well, WSEX knew about the bets for 5 hours without cancelling them!! They didn't cancel until AFTER the game was over. This is a clear past-post by the book.
Please explain how the book's action are not "taking a shot".

you are a fvcking retard! Why dont you choke to death on a bowl of clam chowder. Your act is beyond old, to think a grown man could cry for 6 monhts over 660.00 that he attempted to cheat a book out of and lost. Lenny offered to donate the money to charity per your request and you still don't have the nads to let it go. What a pathetic little man yoou are

They tried contacting him & couldn't reach him. The man took a shot & hid himself & ran here crying before really having an indepth disussion with the book on how to take care of this. What does that show?

Understood, then this would be a better analogy. It would be like me knowingly finding a glitch in their software and knowingly betting well beyond their limit.

This is pretty cool to see that in less than 2 days this thread has over 6000 views. It shows that people have a genuine concern for truth and justice and it's like a big bundle of positive energy. Apologies to those who I made want to barf, but I think this is cool
