an interesting little parlay for me - cocktail would be proud...

over 1 goal in all 5 CL matches first half.

i took it for a 4 fold and the 5 total - $15 a play totaled $90 to win $1082.40

the lille match worries me the most but if 4 out of 5 hit it would pay $159.40 - if this hits probably a few pushes in the mix and yesterday only 2 of the 5 pushed with 3 losers...interestingly enough you can parlay all 5 teams over 0.5 goals for the 2nd half and it pays +159 at bet365...i took it for $10 to round up the figures.....not recommend of course but i thought i'd share 1 of about 4 parlays of the year.

hey roll - any thought about everton? I couldn't take the -2.5 but -1 first half could be a good bet? Everton/Everton is -250 so -126 for Everton -1 HT might be worth a punt. Maybe it pushes and no fellani, Jelavic, Pienaar etc..it might take awhile for the first goal. I really have no thoughts and it only took 3 mins into the norway i game to think it might be a give some back day.

sorry didn't see your question. i loved their lineup today so tossed the -650 in parlays to cut juice for weekend games. Mirallas is their new Belgian signing and will be a sure-fire regular so they had 6 field players as regulars. up 2-0 and i see Mirallas already scored on his debut. he's going to be really good

really annoying they get "the belgian ronaldo" for $6M and united toss up $30M for eddie freakin munster to ride the bench. word is they'll be selling him to fiorentina for $5M this week. nice ROI

i would feel sorry for you rolltide but if man u were arsenal you would lost rooney, giggs, rio, valencia and would now be set to lose nani....replaced by santos, arshavin, Chamakh and gervinho. Add the fact you wouldn't sign hernandez, RVP, etc....are under 20 team kick some ass though...maybe i'll become strickly an u20 arsenal supporter...let's go Chuba Akpom.....berbatov in italy might work well...they like washed up floppers in that league how else can you explain the love for totti still

no bet thursday for me the swings this week has been very annoying...hopefully a nice weekend...gl i europa if you bet it and don't forget to find a stream for cl draw - Should be 11:30 for us eastern time zoners

DS not sure if you watched the EPL preview show on FSC 2 weeks ago but great story on Southampton. Didn't realize this but Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, and Bale all were Soton youth players and they barely got $25M for them combined. They'd be a hell of a club with that attack force instead of....well...i can't name any current Soton midfielder.

honestly i don't understand the gunners at all. IMO wenger simply has to go as he runs the club like they make the same revenue as Aston Villa or Fulham. The fact is they are the 4th richest club in the world according to Forbes only behind United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. Their revenue is #2 in EPL and the club is valued nearly double of Liverpool and Chelsea and 3x that of City. There is no reason you guys should be selling off assets especially young ones. makes absolutely no sense.

if you ever get a chance to read Soccernomics definitely do so. Has a great chapter on just how stupid football teams are run. Why is Wenger, the football coach, deciding who to buy and sell? His only job should be evaluating talent and making suggestions on players...just like Mike Tomlin would do for the Steelers. But, football clubs don't have GM's but instead allow Sir Alex, Mourinho, and Wenger to not only judge talent and strategy but to run budgets and revenue. Basically way too many jobs for one man. While Mourinho and Alex do it as well as has ever been done in history Wenger does not (at least not in many years).

another crazy stat is that Arsenal's value has increased only 8% since last year while the rest of the top 8 increased by at least 12% so it's not like whatever Wenger thinks he's doing is working. In the top 18 only Hamburg (+4%) and Juventus (-8%) have a lower year-over-year value increase. So you'll just keep falling behind until he's replaced. City , btw were only behind Schalke in highest value increase at a stupid +52% from last year. ugh

Maybe Arsenal is using a form of "Money Ball" in their player selection phylosophy?

I'm not a fan of Wenger. When a manager never smiles it makes you wonder if he forgets its a game.

In conclusion, I love watching him throw that water bottle on the ground.

It's the only reason I watch Arsenal matches. LOL.

yeah, actually the book discusses this. it sees Wenger as some fn guru but then again it was written 4 years ago.

anyway it goes into a statistical analysis on money spent by teams on strikers and attacking MF vs their ROI...and then on defenders. So, it actually agrees with Wenger that you get rid of strikers and attacking mf as they're overpriced and have shorter careers of really productive years. When you look at dudes like Rio, Nesta, Maldini they can play at the very highest levels well into their 30's whereas you can't find many 35 year old quality strikers playing EPL or La Liga. What it doesn't do is show a contending viewpoint like the money United spent on Rooney (25M pounds) and Ronaldo (12M pounds). No way they haven't recouped that money several times over in cups, jersey sales, and marketing.

My issue is that it's one thing to get rid of Henry and capitalize on his value when he's a real commodity but it's a completely different thing to do this with 25 year olds who you haven't even gotten a piece of silverware from yet. If i'm not mistaken there's not a single player on their roster who've ever won a cup with Arsenal. For the 4th richest club in the world that's a joke

in fairness to wegner - when arsenal were winning most of the credit went to him knowing when to sell playes far about thier value and signing guys at below cost. Alex Chamberlain may prove to his final example of evaluting young talent - he really does understand that aspect. But I honestly think the owners are running the club 100% as a business and very little care about winnning - we just had enough talent that we maintained top 4 status over the years. But selling Cecs, Nasri, Song, Toure, Adebayor, RVP etc...has finally exposed the club as not only a seller but a non-factor in europe and maybe the EPL. So I know it is easy to blaim the frenchman but we still have a pool of young stars - the problem is keeping them once they become superstars. There is no doubt Arsenal would be fighting with the Manchester if we had all these players still....so the question i have is who is really selling or not offering enough money? To me it's the greedy owners and not the frenchman....but then again if Arsene had little say in selling he probably would have walked away a couple of years ago.

i'll look for the e-book version - i imagine it is out there somewhere.....

cocktail will probably be the most pissed of the group members here.....madrid, ajax, dortmund and city.....dortmund hasn't done anything in europe but it's a tough stadium to play at. As for Arsenal - if we sign 2 real players before the deadline i think we can win this group..schalke, montpellier and Olympiacos isn't all that bad. Group A is boring as hell...if PSG learn to play together i imagine they'll take it.

no reason for arsenal to not win that group...easy. oly are shit in europe and just sold best player to Everton (the belgian ronaldo) while schalke are nothing difficult, montpellier are destined for disaster.

city were always going to draw a tough group because they were a Pod 2 which meant they had to get one of the group A's and it couldn't have been united, gunners, or chelsea and since neither barca nor madrid could get Valencia from Pot 2 they were most likely to be paired up.

i'd say united are a shoo-in for advancing but this group isn't even as easy as benfica, basel, and galati last year which KO'd them so i'm hesitant to be too excited. still, united B team could win the group

at first glance...barca, united, arsenal are landslide group winners

haha....that didn't take long...arsenal's website says 'Arsenal handed tough Champions League Group' - the only reason it is tough is because we are dreadful...i'm sure city, chelsea would have loved our group....garbage

wow, what a fn joke!

nothing like trying to temper fan's expectations. tough group, lol. 3rd team from Germany, a depleted French champ, and a greek team who only twice in history have made the final 8 and eliminated by Metalist Kharkiv last year in Europa and just sold dude that scored 34x for them in 52 games (20 goals LY to lead league) :)

obviously sir A is confident... "after the experience of last year, we don't want to make any stupid errors this time. We will play our strongest team to make sure we get through."

it could be worst for gunners - we could saurez as our main striker....awful and the worst player to watch in the epl

i have a theory that arsenal were awaiting this group draw and if we avoided a group of death we would buy like last year....so let the buying begin..............1 real striker, 1 offensive midfielder, and leo messi.
