i guess bookies figured dussel would score....you have the catch 22 bet happening right now ... do you cheer for dusseldorf to score in hope to tie it later or do you cheer for no more goals????? hmmmmmm....

i know you can't win them all but i do find it kinda funny that in 6 french II games were the under is the norm - i took the lone game without 2 goals....in the EPL that's no big deal but in french II that's kinda crazy.....

That's nuts.

I don't know how Shalke didn't win.

I'm beside myself. This is a CL team? Can't hold a 0-2 lead vs. Dusseldorf. Nuts.

well first congrats on the draw...i wish i watched the 2nd half because the amount i watched in the first half dusseldorf looked very flat and outclasssed...for a second there i thought i had an idea on what i was doing...i guess not. Matches like this happens and a good reason to bet the same every match no matter what...2-2 is shocking though...i would have given you 40-1 odds for dusseldorf draw/win at HT.

didn't dortmund blow a 2-0 HT lead too???? recently??? oh well ... always hard to win on the road even with a 2 goal lead.....2-2 for the day - juice loss....on to tomorrrow

Finally updated the record..

Overall:
88-76-14 +4.96 units
September 3733-11 +0.52 units
August 46-36-2 8.14 units

Saturday September 29th
German Bundesliga II
1860 Munich v Sandhausen
1860 -1 -114 -1.14 to win 1 unit
1860 with 3 wins and 4 draws in 7 matches - at home they beat Jahn and Duisburg and drew Braunschweig. Road draws to Bochum, Kaiserlautern and Dresden and a win vs Ingolstadt. To me that is great start to the year. Sandhausen had started strong but have lost 3 of the last 4 - fellow promotional candidate won 3-0 at home vs Sandhausen and even St Pauli managed to win. Jahn beat Sand. on the road last round. I think Sandhausen will be the type of team that fairs well at home but will continue to struggle on the road esp against the top teams of the bundesliga II. With St Pauli and Koln struggling I think 1860 are a serious promotion threat and certainly should win here. 3-0 much like the paderborn match i think.

Union Berlin v Cottbus
over 2.5 goals -110 -1.10 to win 1 unit
i hesitated to take this because Cottbus still not being the over giant i thought they would be esp on the road with just 1 over in 3 matches. But 2 of their last 3 have been overs and my theory is an over cottbus team can finish top 3-5....so hopefully with a winnable game they will go out to get goals. They did score early vs Jahn (4th min if you remember) and then no more goals...but Jahn is a team i think cottbus knew they could hold onto a 1-0 lead...union won't fold in with a 1 goal deficit like Jahn did. Koln scored in the 3rd min vs Union and they bounced back and won 2-1 and both Ingolstadt and Hertha both scored early enough (17th and 30th min) and those games went over. In fact Union had 3 overs before playing the over killer (but great under bettors) Aue...Crazy to think after 7-8 matches there are still 4 undefeated teams. Certainly Cottbus can win here like Hertha did but union two straight wins. Cottbus lost 1-0 last year but Cottbus were so poor and tough to watch that this is a whole different team...i could see union suprise some and win but i do think 1-2 2-2 type match.

----
i really have no idea on the arsenal match - 11 of 14 h2h in the right side of London have been overs and 3 of the last 4. last year was 0-0 but it was in the middle of Chelsea's CL win over Barcelona. Perhaps a draw suits both but who knows...i really think any result is possible. I'll be watching and looking at more games in the morning...gl....

atkinson is terrible.....15-0 for chelsea when atkinson refs....i wonder if letting strikers grab the defender while scoring has anything to do with it. I wouldn't wish injury on anyone but if gervinho was out for 3-4 weeks i think i would smile a little bit.

agree with many on german overs today - just betting one myself...i do like the hoffenheim over but no bet.

German Bundesliga I
Werder Bremen v Bayern Munich
over 3 goals -126 - 1.26 to win 1 unit
7 of the last 8 h2h in bremen have been over 2.5 goals with 4 games having 4+ goals. Bremen 4 overs in 5 matches - the lone over was a 2-0 win vs hamburgh. Bremen have scored in every match and have scored in 10 of the last 12 matches at home vs Munich. Bayern also 4 overs in 5 matches this season - their lone under was a 2-0 win at schalke. Bayern yet to conceed on the road in two matches and they could play a tight one but i think werder still play that wide open game. I do wish i watched more Werder games this season but statwise the over looks solid. Early goal would give this a 5+ goal chance.... 2-2 2-3 hopefully.

hate to skip EPL but i don't like anything today - i think newcastle pk and taking a gamble on fulham +0.5 might be decent wagers but i like 2 plays in the lower leagues on england

England Championship
Hull v Peterborough
over 2.5, 3.0 -117 -1.17 to win 1 unit
back on the p'boro bandwagon...hull playing some overs recently and certainly a change from last year. The match in Hull last season ended 1-0 but that was a typical hull score. This season hull has 4 overs in 7 matches doesn't sound great but considering last year they only had 16 overs in 46 matches. Mostly road unders but still just 10 overs in 23 home matches last year. In the last 4 league matches all 4 over 3 goal matches and against some more over friendly teams much like p'boro. P'boro will struggle to score but could easily conceed at least 3 times - P'boro certainly better at overs at home but have scored in 5 of the 7 matches. The big worry is three potential promotional candidates like Hull, Birmingham, Leicester and Wolves all played unders vs P'boro and between the 3 teams only conceeded 0 goals. Hull have conceeded in 5 straight matches and certainly p'boro still have some talented strikers...hull wins easy but hopefully p'boro can score...3-0 3-1...maybe p'boro can mini-shock today and grab a point at 2-2.

England League One
Shrewsbury v Swindon
Swindon pk -127 - 1.27 to win 1 unit

Sunday September 30th
Russia Premier League
Rostov v Rubin Kazan
over 2, 2.5 goals -122 -1.22 to win 1 unit
RuRussia Football has been very over friendly, just ask Messier, and the over 2.5 is hitting at a 64% rate. At over 1.5 the overs are hitting at 83%. Rostov 3 over 2.5 goals in 4 home matches and Rubin 4 overs in 5 road matches. H2H in Rostov 2 of the last 3 have been overs and 4 of the last 6 in all competitions. Rubin play thursday in Europa but it is a home match vs Patizan so i don't think they will be looking ahead. With the over hitting in the league it looks like blind betting is working but i do think we should have at least 3 goals.

German Bundesliga I
Wolfsburg v Mainz
over 2.5 -118 - 1.18 to win 1 unit
just can't ignore that h2h record in Wolfsburg....in the bundesliga the last 6 matches in wolfsburg have all been over...goals scored in the 6 matches - 4, 7, 6, 5, 3 and 7. Even in the 2nd Bundesliga these two clubs played high scoring matches but that was in the mid-1990s so i don't think those stats matter. Wolfsburg 1 over in 2 home matches but last year 12 overs in 17 home matches. Mainz an average road over side but both Schalke and Bayern played home overs vs Mainz. Wolfsburg with just 2 goals scored this season so this is no slam dunk despite the numbers...the h2h makes it tempting to back the over 3.5 but only if Wolfs. was scoring more imo.

looking at a third

Spain La Liga
Espanyol v Atletico Madrid
over 2.5 goals -101 -1.01 to win 1 unit
Espanyol is a lot better then their record and A Madrid could lose here but in the end probably a bit too strong. But h2h in the other part of Barcelona 4 straight league overs and 8 of the last 10. Both teams have 4 overs in 5 matches this season. Athetico's one road under was one of those pissoff over losers where the score was 1-1 after 22 mins and no more goals. Espanyol's 1 under came last round was a 1-0 road loss. A Madrid have been scoring a ton but they also seem to conceed a goal - or score 3 or 4. 12 of the last 13 matches in barcelona, espanyol have scored at least 1 goal. Espanyol with 4 straight wins/draws vs A Madrid and could get a win here despite the difference in form. 1-1 is a big worry as it probably would suit Espanyol but in the end Athletico probably takes it 1-2 1-3.....both to score pays -138 and might be the better bet but i know it not usually available.

Bad call on this play Dial, I'm Lucky I pick Atletico MAdrid on the money line.

W/out Falcao, they can win but they can't score more goals than He is on the field.

Champions Leauge
Valencia v Lille
Valencia -1 -106 -1.06 to win 1 unit
- after watching the match vs BATE i was heavily leaning towards Valenica....see rolltide's midweek thread for the stats - he did a great job so no need to repeat here....

Nordsjælland v Chelsea
Chelsea -1 -122 - 1.22 to win 1 unit
odds have been brought down to the point where i like -1. I know Chelsea failed to win on the road in last years group stage but chelsea only won 6 EPL away games last year and already have 2 wins in 3 road matches this season. Arsenal certainly gifted them two goals on the weekend but they did play a solid road match. I know people are saying Nords can surprise and certainly winning Denmark last season was impressive. With Juve and no doubt a tough trip to Ukraine ahead for chelsea max points against nord might be a must to get out of the group esp with just the draw at home vs Juve. Certainly a draw here would still put in a good position but i think 3 points is most likely. The match is being played at FC Coperhagen's grounds where chelsea played 2 years ago and won 2-0. Copenhagen a much more experienced european side so Chelsea should feel confident in the match - and winter hasn't hit the sccandinavian countries for any home field advantage. Nord should be tough but in the end the necessity of 3 points and (gulp) the great league start for Chelsea should really prove too much...0-2 but certainly 1-2 and a push possible.

I like Spartak and Juve a lot but overnight odds have shortened and maybe i'm just paranoid but in the CL that always seems to spell trouble. (and i already risked some with chelski) Not enough to bet for Celtic or Shakhtar. I do think the over in Juventus match is solid as they should win but it is mighty tough to keep the visitors of the scoreboard. Juve could score all three....i might take it i am around close to kickoff...Chelsea/Valencia double instead of -1 on Valencia/chelsea might be a strong play. Odds for Barca and Bayern are far too short to consider imo.....

England Championship
Hull v Blackpool
over 2.5 goals -128 - 1.28 to win 1 unit
two of the better over sides this season - still surprised about hull but no doubt blackpool is always a decent over wager throughtout the years. Both clubs have 5 overs in 8 matches - Hull with 3 overs in 4 home matches. Blackpool just 1 over in 4 road matches but it did come last round vs Cardiff and 2 of the 3 unders had 2 goals in them. Blackpool 17 overs in 23 road matches last year...the fixture in hull ended 1-0 but on saturday i capped Hull v P'boro over despite 1-0 last year and that match ended 1-3.

i think goals in huddersfield and maybe over 3 in barnsley could be solid plays...sticking with 3 for now.

Wednesday October 3rd
UEFA Champions Leauge
Arsenal v Olympiacos
arsenal -1 -142 - 1.42 to win 1 unit
it was bound to happen again but i am tipping my own club...i really can't remember the last time i bet for them to win. Maybe a total now and then but first time in at least 4 years. The line has been bought down quite a bit in the old reverse money trick bookies do....at least i hope so. But seeing arsenal -1 in my juice range is just too tempting for me. I wouldn't take a -1.5 line because a 1 goal win is good enough for us. Diaby is out and Arteta are questionable which will worry me as we are not deep in the midfield - although Cazorla has impressed. I think you have to go back to 2009 before you can find a home lost in the CL with mostly wins. They have played Olympiacos twice in the CL since 2009 winning both matches 2-0 and 2-1. Olympiacos beat Marseille last year on the road but are not very good travellers....i really see a bigtime class difference and Arsenal are playing like a team and i'd say much better than last years club....perhaps a push but 3-0 3-1 seems like a very likely score.

Dyanmo Kiew v Zagreb
over 2.5 goals -120 - 1.20 to win 1 unit
i'm not sure kiev deserves such a big favourite...i think this will be the battle for EUROPA and both clubs probably would settle for a 3rd place in this group. Of course both will still go for CL but realistically this will be for 3rd. Both are high scoring in their domestic league and enough goals in the CL this year and years pass to think a classic 1-2 2-1 match today. Kiev could score all 3 as Zagreb are pretty poor but I don't think they'll consider themselves outclassed despite it being on the road and the odds. They did lose 2-0 to Porto but the 2nd goal came very late and porto should be tough to score against for most clubs. I think a must win scenerio for Kiev as it will be tough in Croatia but the visitors good enough to score...3-1 makes sense in the end but i could see 2-1 or even 1-2. 3 goals works for me.

Manchester City v Dortmund
Manchester City -0.25 -116 -116 to win 1 unit
i just don't see dortmund taking all 3 points...1/2 loser on a draw is worth the risk even though Citeh have not proven themselves in europe. The struggles in the EPL have been on the road - they did beat Southampton, QPR and drew Arsenal at home - i realize poor opponents and the draw vs Arsenal isnt a great result but still good. Getting the late goal to beat Fuhlam should give them a bit more confidence. City is undefeated at home in its last 17 European matches....i watched dortmund closely in last years CL since they were in Arsenal's group and they really didn't impress esp the road matches. Arsenal took max points at home and Dortmund have stuggled over the years in England. I don't watch city games but there is clearly a problem in defence and certainly Dortmund is a team that can exploit teams but City can still score goals...over makes the most sense probably but if dortmund play like they did vs ajax it might be a slow boring ass game....hopefully the over hits for the board and citeh win 2-1 3-1....

well i just typed my three plays and clicked submit only to have the internet temporarily down and lost it all ... so just picks today..

Friday October 5th
German Bundesliga II
FSV Frankfurt v Paderborn
over 2.5 goals -124 - 1.24 to win 1 unit

St Pauli v Union Berlin
St Pauli +100 - 1.00 to win 1 unit
sucker bet but new manager and union pretty poor on the road....

- hertha is missing a few players so the 1860 +0.5 is tempting but i don't really count injuries in the lower levels of soccer. Certainly there are exceptions but not in this case. In the end 1860 could get a draw/win even vs a full strenght Hertha so perhaps it is a wise play...no bet for me though.

Norway Tippeligaen
Valerenga v Stromsgodset
over 3 goals -101 - 1.01 to win 1 unit

record updated very soon.....and sorry for no writeup...

perhaps more later on....
