It’s like this:
someone goes to the blackjack table, let’s call him Gerry. Gerry is talking a bunch of nonsense about stuff that is just dead wrong. You watch him play, and dang hes playing dumb. Hitting 14s against a 4. Doubling 8s vs a 9. Hitting 12s against a 6. Just stuff every normal person knows.
they unsurprisingly lose. This streak goes on 4-5-6 times and then finally a winning session. Amazingly the cards just fall right. Gerry is ecstatic and tells anyone he can about the session he had and the money he won. Mind you it’s not even half the money he lost the previous trips.
you and others try to help Gerry because you actually feel sorry for the guy. In total you watch Gerry play 9 rounds of blackjack, he loses 7 times he goes, wins 2. The losses far outweighs the wins. Yet even to this day all Gerry can talk about is the two winning sessions. He actually thinks he has found a system that wins and wonders why no one else will listen. He actually claims to know more than the people that actually created the game.
making matters is worse is Gerry is the guy at the blackjack table that is trying to tell everyone else at the table what they are doing is wrong and how they should be playing their hands.
think we all have come across a Gerry from time to time. Best thing to do is just put your head phones on, ignore him, and be sure to tell the other people at the table to play their own hand how they want, or try not to let him bother you. After he leaves just have a good laugh and tell the all you’ve seen Gerry blow thousands and it’s sad but you just gotta let Gerry be Gerry.
