Think people are going with different interpretations to what most athletic means. Pure athleticism he isn't the most athletic C ever, he wouldn't even need to be given his size.

If you mean most physically gifted then yeah I would agree.

I can't stand Jordan, but LBJ could win 6, 7 or 10. He won't ever better than MJ. When MJ had the ball, you always assumed he was going to score. With Lebron, there is no fear that this guy is going to make the jumper or hit a turn around j that will beat you. People forget just how prolific MJ was on the offensive end.

And this is whats sad.
Some people have the minds so made up that no matter what LJ does they will never give him the credit.

I consider physically gifted and athletic to be the same thing.
Being physically gifted is what makes you athletic.

You can't really become athletic.
You either are or you're not.

Jerry Rice must wanna literally punch someone everytime he hears "People forget how good MJ was"

Nobody forgets how good he was, he is the most revered american athlete of all time by a wide margin. He is the best NBA player from the 80s and 90s. Jerry Rice is the best NFL player from that time period and his networth/fame is like 1/100th of MJs.

When was the last time MJ scored 7 points in Conference Finals? Let me say you the time. Never.

LBJ isn't even the best 3 of all-time yet. Ask anyone that played the NBA and they will laugh at you for suggesting that LBJ is close to MJ.

Scotty Pipen thinks LJ is better.

Let's let him win this title first, before we even waste our time with this argument. He has been to finals 4 times and it took Jesus Shuttlesworth on a miracle 3 to give a 2nd one. Chop, I don't know how old you are, but I don't think you watched MJ in his prime '88-'93. Dude was unreal, he was great in 96-98, but the MJ of the late 80's was stone cold killer.

Most athletes lionize the time period they've played in. All the guys that are on TV and in the media now played with MJ. Kenny, Barkley, Shaq, Payton, C Webb...

You ask the guys from the 70s like Dr J or Gervin who is the best and they all say Kareem.

So am I insane in thinking that LJ and MJ are hard to separate?

If I was an NBA GM and a 19 year old MJ was on the board and a 19 year old LJ was on the board I would take LJ.
Should I be fired if I made that selection?

Fair enough, but I think it is pretty universal that everyone I have heard states that MJ was the GOAT, by a mile. Hell, let LBJ catch Kobe first.

No, for the same reason Houston drafted dream. Nobody knew MJ would be the Goat. Dream won 2 titles, top 10 all-time scorer and HOF center and person, any owner/GM would take that.

Lets pretend that we would all know beforehand what both players would do.
Time machine style.

If I draft a 19year old LJ over a 19 year old MJ should I be fired?

So, you are saying, that as you are getting to draft, you know MJ will win 6, right?

If that is the case? Yes, you should be fired.

You also have to take into consideration all the off court stuff.
I think Lebron as a human being is very underrated and MJ as a human being is very overrated.

I genuinely believe LJ is a great guy off the court and I believe MJ is scum off the court.

Im amazed at the perception that people have of LJ vs MJ.

I think Lebron is one of THE most misunderstood athletes of all time.

On a good team that wasn't really deficient anywhere I'd take MJ. So many games comedown to who can score when isolated in the finals mins and he is the best at that.

Although you put LeBron into 1988 and its gonna be pretty ugly.

No it would not be team dependent.
Just from the talent standpoint.

I am the GM of an expansion team in year 1 with no players on the roster.
The first personel move I make is choosing between a 19y old LJ over a 19y old MJ.

Pipen don't come with MJ
DWADE don't come with LJ.

Unfortunately, this part is true. MJ is a prick. A friend of mine works for Jimmy Sexton (pippen's agent), my buddy was Scott's main point person for Jimmy. He said they were out one night and some chick wanted to order MJ a drink, this ass hole orders the most expensive bottle of wine on the menu $1100 and bills the woman. What a fucking dick.
