Having homefield advantage throughout the playoffs can't hurt, but at some point you have to beat the good teams.

Their 9 wins came against teams with a combined winning percentage of .311 and they haven't beaten a >.500 team in over a year.

Their three losses this season (Bills, Eagles, Chiefs) - a combined score of 100-51.

Goes without saying, Dolphins as the #1 seed would be the softest in recent memory.
Buffalo blew em out

the eagles and kc games were close.
The 3 losses were ALL road games

The Dolphins lost pretty competitive games to the two serious teams they've played

The Bills game was just a dud/anomaly against a mediocre team

And yes, they have been DOMINANT at home

^ plus all their home wins were easy wins (I didn’t see the raider game but heard they dominated)

they’re good. The defense is coming around.

sucks losing Jalen Phillips.

they are as good as anyone in the league.
Hopefully they stay healthy and have a little luck

Offensive line is improving as well

Achane kinda underrated

Dolphins are in it. Would love it for them to get the 1 seed.

Mahomes has never played a playoff road game

31-17 against the Eagles, I wouldn't call that "close"

Laying chalk on this unproven squad with an inexperienced HC in the playoffs is fool's gold.

Ravens, Chiefs, Cowboys, Niners... tough experienced top 5 Ds would most likely smother them.

The game where the officiating was 10-0 in favor of Eagles

Probably the worst officiated game of the year

And that's saying something given how officials suck

Chiefs, Ravens, Dolphins are the contenders in the AFC this year

Jags in it as well if Lawrence is healthy

No one else has a shot. Texans too young, and everyone else too injured

Fins were down 7 in the 4th. Refs had 2 BAD no calls that went in philly’s favor in the 4th

They’re beating the average teams and below by impressive margins.

They have 2 easy games coming up and then 3 tough ones. Let’s see what Happens

Yes, the Bills got shafted against the Eagles as well - 11-4 in penalties.

So that's another disadvantage you have to factor in - not getting calls against the established teams like the Chiefs, and probably even the Ravens in the AFC. Niners, Eagles, Cowboys in the NFC if the Dolphins make it to the SB. Sucks, but that's the NFL.

You like McDaniel? Very strange cat with D his Achilles heel. Not to mention, his record in "pressure games". I remember how Andy Reid would win title after title with the Eagles, then choke in the playoffs. Took him forever to learn how to win in that environment and finally get over the hump.

So let's say..

McDaniel vs Reid
McDaniel vs Harbaugh (even with "Playoff Lamar")

You're sold? I'm not.

I do like McDaniel. Very "quirky" but reminds me of HEAT coach Eric Spoelstra who can manage a team of BIG egos and have them produce. Seems like the players love him. Him and Tua seem to have an awesome relationship.

Valid point on "pressure games". He hasnt much success in big road games since he's been here. We only have 1 of those for the rest of the season (balt on NYE) which should be a HUGE game. Fins are undefeated at home this season and 4 out of the next 5 are at home.

Valid points about Reid and Harbaugh. 2 VERY good coaches. If they do matchup in the playoffs, hopefully the game is in Miami. If not in Miami, then i think the fins are at a disadvantage but it doesnt mean that they cant win.

Their D has been VERY good over the past few games. Jalen Ramsey is back and Fangio has the players "doing their thing". What looked "off" in September/October has been fixed and their playing a good scheme.

Sold? Never. Been a fan too long. Pleasantly Optimistic- I am.

Do I think they can make the super bowl? yes
Do I think they can win the super bowl? Yes

Would I bet $$ that they will make or win the super bowl? No

Cowboys tough schedule up coming home vs Philly then Road Buffalo and Road Miami I’m guessing 1-2 or 2-1 you could make the same argument for the cowboys that you make for Miami can’t beat anyone worthy

Buffalo is not a difficult game unless they sleep on them/look past it

The end of the season schedule for some of these teams is crazy so anything possible . Miami could have the easiest path to #1 seed but any team will gladly take that January road game in warm weather

Buf can still beat anyone. They would be favored over KC on a neutral field. KC -1.5 in KC. Buf has some big time injuries in White, Milano and Jones. Even with the injuries, if Allen's on, Buf scores at will and can take down anyone.
