Previously, Congressman Miller introduced HR 994, the Loophole Elimination and Verification Enforcement Act (LEAVE Act). This bill would remove incentives and loopholes in our current laws that encourage illegal aliens to come and work in the United States. This type of legislation can put Americans back to work.

So on top of ignorant you're a racist. What's it matter if I'm Hispanic?

The border fence is a boondoggle and a joke from the beginning. Can't work. Read up on it.

Because Hispanics are the most racist group in the US, and make up the vast majority of those lobbying for completely open borders and amnesty. In other words, it would explain how you could hold the irrational position that the US should allow an invasion by more than 20 million poor uneducated criminal foreigners with a different language and culture who don't want to assimilate and therefore want to recreate Mexico within the United State. Not to mention Aztlan. A nation divided against itself cannot stand.

It is clear from your answer that you don't want the fence. You probably would like the government to send buses to the border to give free rides to illegal border crossers anywhere they want to go.

The fence only doesn't work in practice because there never has been the political will to make it work. It certaintly works in theory. Ask the Israelis what they think of fences. We should hire them to build the fence.

Allowing this massive invasion is spitting on the graves of all those soldiers in WW I and II who died for the US so we wouldn't end up speaking Japanese or German. If nothing is done, we will end up speaking Spanish without a shot being fired. I had a feeling you were a traitor.

We won the Mexican-American War, but lost the peace. If Mexican-American War II must be fought, I am down with that.

Remember the Alamo, where Santa Ana took no prisoners.

Above video a repost of what happened at a bar in Reno similar to the school demonstration in California...Rodomonte should remember that one being from Reno. http://www.google.com/search?q=mexi...&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=

I remember that well, roadreeler57. I also remember one protest march by thousands of Hispanics to the Federal Courthouse after a DHS raid on several McDonald's. I was one of about 6 counter-protestors. About a dozen young Hispanics who had cut class that day broke away from the demonstration and approached us on the other side of the street with blood in their eyes. Fortunately, there were about 40 Reno cops there and they stoped them from reaching us.

We're just a few years away from a "North American Union" or "American Integration" where we'll all share the same passport and currency so enforcing immigration is pointless. Clinton knew it, Bush knew it, Obama knows it. Why spend as fortune to keep out the people you're actively working towards integrating with?

Yes, those traitors took some public but mostly private steps toward a North American Union. Such a Union would be a treaty and require Senate approval. That will never happen politically. If it did, there would be Civil War II, but it would be a guerrilla war. We have every right to defend the sovereignity of our country.

You can't justify open borders with some pipe dream that will never happen.

Laughable. Nothing you type can be taken seriously.

Angry old white men have had this category covered hands down since, well, the dawn of time.

There are about 10,000 Irish illegal aliens in the US, and no doubt more who are also Anglos. Now I am 100% Irish and I want those Irish illegals treated exactly the same as the Mexican illegals - no amnesty and deported. I want all illegals treated the same without regard to race, creed, or national origin. I can't be a racist.

Sign the Petition to Reduce Welfare Rolls

Friday, February 12, 2010, 8:37 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA</SPAN>

Approximately 1/2 of immigrant households (both legal and illegal) with kids access welfare services, primarily food and Medicaid. Many argue that immigration is a social issue, but it's a fiscal issue as well. Sign our petition urging Pres. Obama, Speaker of the House Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Reid to stop expanding our welfare system through high immigration numbers.
The immigrant population has grown by an average of 1.3 million per year since 2000, plus an additional 1 million new births in those households. That's 23 million new people every decade, and HALF of all immigrant families are using welfare, especially food and Medicaid welfare! This includes illegal AND legal immigrants. See Roy's blog to read the whole ugly story.
Pres. Obama has pledged to reduce our deficits, so isn't this a good time to send hundreds of thousands of petitions to him, Reid and Pelosi suggesting a suspension of most immigration that is driving those deficits up?
Sign our petition NOW and then send it to your friends and family. If your on Facebook or Twitter, please share the link to help get the message to Washington! http://www.numbersusa.com/content/news/february-12-2010/sign-petition-reduce-welfare-rolls.html

South Carolina cracking down + the comments

States Pass E-Verify Laws

Overview

Several states have passed legislation requiring employers to use E-Verify. E-Verify is an employment verification tool managed by the Department of Homeland Security that uses information from the Social Security Administration and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to determine an applicant's eligibility to work.

South Carolina Businesses Fined for not using E-Verify

Thursday, February 11, 2010, 10:04 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA</SPAN>

sc0211.jpg

Businesses near Columbia, S.C. face fines after the state's Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation performed 89 audits and found companies not complying with the state's E-Verify law. A car dealership in Hardeeville, S.C. was slapped with a fine of $5,900.
The Palmetto State has one of the nation's toughest E-Verify laws, requiring all businesses to verify new hires through the system. The mandate is being rolled out in phases with employers of more than 100 workers needing to comply by July of 2009. Businesses with fewer than 100 workers will need to comply by July of 2010.
There are 10 states with mandatory E-Verify laws on the books, and three more with Executive Orders, but some states have come up short in enforcing the laws. South Carolina's Labor, Licensing and Regulation department is being more aggressive in their enforcement, citing nearly 36 businesses with first-time infractions.

Richard2467of TX.....You are exactly right. Your idea of creating 9 million jobs is too easy for this government to understand. I doubt if they would comprehend this. When it comes to common sense our whole government lacks it.. Obama never touched NAFTA because it may help to get our jobs back. Why is it the people who pay all the obscene salaries know how to handle issues better than the criminals we have working for us. Looks like the whole country is disgusted with the Power Hungry criminals in office. It is about time the Legal Citizens of America are all waking up.WE NEED JOBS TO SURVIVE. WHY IS THAT SO HARD FOR PEOPLE IN THIS GOVERNMENT TO UNDERSTAND AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.FORGET THE HEALTH CARE SCAM. WE WANT JOBS. NOT WELFARE. UNEMPLOYMENT I S NUMBER ONE...START WORKING ON IT NOW. THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE EXPECTED....THE ONES WHO HIRE ILLEGALS SHOULD BE MARCHED RIGHT TO JAIL.. We must do everything we can to remove the illegals. everyone needs to stay on top of your local and state politicians to let them know we will not give up on putting illegals out and giving the support and jobs to suffering Americans. Illegals have cost Americans billions of dollars with illegal jobs and illegally using our hospitals, and natural and tax payer paid resources. We need to ask our politicians to make the fines higher and giving more jail time to people who ignore the law. Fri 02/12 1266008708 4:05pm (report this tip)

Illegals cost our State a lot of money education, welfare services, medical and they live in a home for 4 with a number of up to 12, they pay only for the regular 4 adults. They do not keep the property clean and the use fraud to get SS numbers, Drivers license, etc.. Who is paying attention? Higher fines will help pay for services they are stealing from our tax base. The employer knows what they are doing, they know the law! Without higher fines it is profitable for them. Fri 02/12 1266002015 2:13pm (report this tip)

The finds should $10,000 or more for each illegal immigrant, then they should check back each week and fine them again until they are either out of business or all the illegals or gone! Thu 02/11 1265946231 10:43pm (report this tip)

Interesting to see there is some "illegal kickback" in South Carolina. They really need to look at Hilton Head. I used to go to play golf there once or twice a year but it has gotten to the point that if you are going to deal with anyone it is an illegal immigrant. If it wasn't for Mexico Hilton Head would have to shut down. Don in Arkansas Thu 02/11 1265942823 9:47pm (report this tip)

Agree that the fines need to be very substantial...maybe $25-50K per illegal and a 5-year jail sentence for the HR Director and company owner...that would send a real message otherwise it's just the cost of them doing business. They know the chances are slim. There needs to be a hot-line for citizens to turn in illegals and actually see action on those complaints!! Thu 02/11 1265941593 9:26pm (report this tip)

OK, $5900. Yes, it's a start, but the employer probably saved at least that much by hiring illegals. He is still ahead, there is no motivation to stop hiring illegals. There need to be a few more zeros added on, plus jail for that employer. Thu 02/11 1265939852 8:57pm (report this tip)

Thanks to all who are protecting the LEGAL worker and punishing those who don't obey our laws - the fines should be outrageous - enough to ensure no one violates the law again! Thu 02/11 1265935939 7:52pm (report this tip)

Make the fines substantial and add the IMAGE Program to weed out illegals already working and you have what is needed to get 7 Million of our own back to work. Thu 02/11 1265917411 2:43pm (report this tip)

We can pass all the laws we want but if they aren't enforced, as our federal immigration laws aren't, then they do no good. Enforcement is the answer. If all our federal immigration laws were enforced we would not have the problem we have today. Thu 02/11 1265913001 1:30pm (report this tip)

Do you want to create 9 million jobs? How? Pass E-Verify and give 6 million jobs to American Citizens & cancel NAFTA and bring back 3 million jobs sent to Mexico. This is simple and could be done in a couple of weeks. <TABLE width=600><TBODY><TR><TD>53% of Immigrant Families on Welfare!

SIX things you can DO TODAY to fight this outrage
Please donate—help us stop importing poverty!
<CENTER><TABLE style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0><TBODY><TR style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px"><TD style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ff0000">Click Here to Donate Now

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></CENTER> DEAR JIM,
I'm sure you were as shocked as I to read the new findings that . . .
. . . 53% of immigrant households with children collected welfare from at least one government program in 2008.
These programs include food stamps, Medicaid, and free school lunches. And yes, that huge number also includes legal immigrants.
The immigrants America is attracting these days are mostly poor and badly educated. These are not people doing "jobs Americans won't do." These are people getting benefits Americans often don't qualify for.
1. Is this letter making your blood pressure rise? Mine is! Then every last one of you needs to SIGN THIS PETITION to Pres. Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid demanding that they get immigration down immediately! We just can't afford it. Hey, I know we wrote you last week asking for your signature. Did you sign? The numbers show me that most have not. If you're not sure, sign it again--we'll count you only once.
2. Then forward this email to your friends and ask them to sign the petition. Forward this email to everyone on your list. We've GOT to get the word out.
3. Also, click this link to go to a page where you can refer several of your friends and family at a time. What will happen is we will send them an invitation to sign the petition, showing them the complete text, and mentioning you by name. Don't worry. We will not keep bugging them!
Since I've given out my email address to members starting nine months ago, I've received thousands of emails! Many of them are like this simple complaint from Bill:
I live in Dalton, Georgia. We have a real problem with illegals here. They get free food stamps and jobs in the mills.

Bill S. of Georgia

I'm incapable of telling you how many emails you guys have sent about illegal aliens having children in America and those children qualifying immediately for full social benefits. JoAnn's email was sad, and typical:
Mr. Robb, I live on Hilton Head Island, S.C. and in 1990 there were no illegals here. It was only when [outside developers] decided to build here. [The developers] told us that there would be many jobs for the locals. Well that never happened. They brought their own workers from Arizona and now their workers are doing the framing, stucco, painting, plastering, building the roads and sidewalks, driving the trucks. . .

The writing is on the wall. It looks like the start of bankruptcy for Beaufort County to me. Our tax dollars have had to be used to build 20 new schools in the last 19 years. Every time an [uninsured] illegal has a baby in this county it costs taxpayers $54,000, and so many are having babies, almost like a factory. The illegals take advantage of everything. . . I believe the illegals bankrupted California and I believe they are well on the way to bankrupt this country.

JoAnn D. of South Carolina

JoAnn isn't exaggerating. We are importing poor people, then we're subsidizing them. Ready for change? Ready to do something?
4. Did you know that our allies in Congress have actually sponsored bills to fix many of these problems? One bill would end the absurd policy of granting automatic "birthright citizenship" to infants of illegal aliens! Another bill would require all employers to check the legal status of their employees. Two other bills would rid us of the ridiculous practices of "chain migration" (immigration of extended family) and the so-called "visa lottery."
Is your Member of the House of Representative signed on to co-sponsor all these bills. Find out here. Have you looked at your Congressmen's immigration voting records? Local Power is a new place on NumbersUSA that explains the immigration records of your Members of Congress and makes it easy for you to sound off about what you think.
5. Don't just gripe! Who does that help? Instead, go to your NumbersUSA Action Board and hammer your Members of Congress with faxes and phone calls.

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></CENTER>6. When's the last time you made a donation to NumbersUSA? To be blunt, we're a good bargain. How much of your income are you paying in taxes? How much of that goes to pay welfare for immigrants?
Donating to NumbersUSA is giving to your future. To the future of your children. It's an act of faith in your country. We are NOT giving up! We WILL NOT be worn down!
53% of immigrant families on the dole is NOT acceptable! We ARE going to REDUCE immigration.
Please help us. We MUST have your help to have a chance to succeed. If NumbersUSA can't do it, nobody can.

Illegal Aliens Caught Working on Atlanta Area Courthouse

Thursday, February 18, 2010, 11:20 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA</SPAN>

cobb0218.jpg
New Cobb County Courthouse

Ten illegal aliens who were working as bricklayers at the new Cobb County Courthouse were fired after it was learned of their immigration status. Georgia is one of 10 states with a mandatory E-Verify law in place, requiring state agencies and contractors to use the workplace verification system.
Turner Construction Company is overseeing the $63 million project that is funded by taxpayers. One of their subcontractors, Zebra Construction, failed to use E-Verify in hiring the bricklayers. The illegal aliens were detected when a member of "Jobs for Georgians" posed as a bricklayer and found that the illegal workers were being paid in cash for their work.
The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers also contacted Zebra in November and were told that no paperwork needed to be submitted by the bricklayers before starting work and that they were being paid in cash.
"Turner will continue to cooperate closely with the county and to monitor the employment eligibility of all workers on the project," Turner's Public Relations Manager Shannon Eckhart said in a released statement.
Turner has hired a subcontractor to finish the masonry work, and the workers are being checked through E-Verify.

Call your Senators today and tell them to stand up for the American Worker!

On Monday night, the Senate voted to move forward with debate on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) jobs bill, the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act (S.AMDT.3310 to H.R.2847). The HIRE Act has two major tax provisions: (1) an exemption from payroll taxes for employers who hire new employees in 2010 and (2) a $1,000 tax credit for employers who keep those employees for at least 52 weeks. However, the bill does not require that these new workers be American workers or that employers use E-Verify to confirm that the workers hired are work authorized. (See FAIR’s Legislative Update)
To make matters worse, Senate Majority Leader Reid intends to block all amendments to the HIRE Act and to hold a vote on final passage tonight!
It’s not too late to make your voice heard! True immigration reformers in the Senate want to fix these problems, but they need our help! Here’s what you can do:
Call your Senators today and tell them:
 • Jobs created by the HIRE Act should go to American workers, not illegal aliens;
 • Employers should be prohibited from receiving tax benefits if they hire illegal aliens;
 • Employers should be required to use E-Verify to qualify for these tax benefits; and
 • You expect your Senators to demand that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid fix this problem now!
To find your Senators’ phone numbers, click here and enter your five-digit zip code.
After you have called your own Senators, please call Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and give him the same message! (202)-224-3452

Americans might have hoped that finally at this meeting there would be a sign of true leadership in stopping the massive importation of new foreign workers during a jobs depression. But on that topic, hope was as scarce as at the Obama White House.

Earlier this week, Rep. Heath Shuler's (D-N.C.) bipartisan SAVE Act added two new cosponsors pushing the total of number of cosponsors to 108! A study commissioned by the Department of Homeland Security found that illegal aliens with falsified documents were able to slip through E-Verify, but the SAVE Act would stop this from happening.
With 15 million Americans looking for work, the SAVE Act would make E-Verify mandatory for all businesses nationwide, doing the most to help unemployed Americans get back to work. But it also includes provisions that require information sharing between the Social Security Administration, IRS, and Homeland Security and requires notification of identity theft.
Check your Action Board for faxes urging your Three Members of Congress to cosign this crucial piece of legislation. Also, if you haven't done so already, you'll find a new fax urging your Senators to include E-Verify when the Senate begins work on the larger Jobs bill in the upcoming weeks.
Thanks,
Chris Chmielenski
