Happy New Year -- These Pro-Amnesty Voters In Congress Are NOT Coming Back

By Roy Beck, Friday, December 31, 2010, 2:00 PM EST - posted on NumbersUSA
picture-21_1285342200.jpg
I can't think of a more joyous reason to ring IN the New Year than the fact that we will immediately be ringing OUT 61 Members of Congress who voted FOR amnesty just before Christmas.
Take a look at the list below and wish them all a fond farewell.
As they leave office, they will take with them their publicly discredited preference for illegal foreign workers and the employers that hire them. And they take with them their callous indifference to the millions of Americans who don't have a job because these departing Members used their positions of power to keep illegal aliens in their jobs.
Yes, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed the DREAM Act amnesty. But only because of all of these defeated and retiring Members voting for it. Not only will the new Congress in the new year be absent these pro-amnesty Members, but nearly all of them are being replaced by ANTI-amnesty freshmen who were elected in November by voters clearly fed up with the federal government's preference for illegal foreign labor.
Sadly, some of the Members on this list generally held the line against illegal immigration as long as they felt they had to face the voters back home. But once they didn't have to answer to voters any more, they sided with the illegal worker lobbies.
Yes, I know that most of these Members had a sincere concern about the compelling cases of young adults who were brought here illegally at a young age.
But none of these Members had enough interest in the compelling cases of unemployed Americans to consider the fact that the DREAM Act amnesty would have done nothing to slow down future illegal-worker migration while creating more incentives and hopes for millions more illegal foreign workers to come to take U.S. jobs. They allowed this amnesty to be brought up without any chance to amend it to make it more protective of unemployed Americans. They allowed it to come up without any opportunity to try to perfect it in committee.
Every one of the Lame Ducks on this list acted recklessly and callously toward the interests of the 22 million Americans who want a job but can't find one and toward the children who suffer in these unemployed homes.

LAME DUCK DEMOCRATS WHO DIDN'T QUACK BUT INSTEAD STUCK WITH UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS BY VOTING AGAINST THE AMNESTY
I sincerely bid a fond farewell to the following Democrats who not only went against their Party's pro-illegal-worker leadership in most of their career, but also opposed the amnesty after they were Lame Ducks and no longer had to face voters back home.
Even though they were leaving Congress at the first of the year and could have done like so many other Lame Ducks in currying favor with Party Powers, these Democrats demonstrated that they were themselves sincere in their campaign statements that they opposed illegal immigration and wanted to stop it from putting Americans out of work.

Several states have passed legislation requiring employers to use E-Verify. Florida's Gov. Scott Signs E-Verify Executive Order

Updated Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:19 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA

Following through on a campaign promise, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed four executive orders minutes after being sworn in, including one that requires all state agencies to use E-Verify. Florida joins a list of 13 other states that have mandatory E-Verify laws or executive orders in place.
According to a press release from the governor's office:

Executive Order No. 11-02 requires state agencies to use the E-Verify system verify employment eligibility of state employees and contractors.
  • All state agencies under the direction of the Governor must use E-Verify system to check employment eligibility of their current and prospective employees.
  • Requires state agencies under the direction of the Governor to include in all state contracts a requirement that contractors utilize the E-Verify system to verify the employment eligibility of:
    • all persons employed during the contract term by the contractor to perform employment duties within Florida; and
    • all persons (including subcontractors) assigned by the contractor to perform work pursuant to the contract with the state agency...
The Florida State Legislature, which convenes next week, is also expected to consider an Arizona-style immigration enforcement bill that would also require all employers in the state to use E-Verify. The bills are being drafted by Rep. Bill Snyder and Sen. Mike Bennett.

Our Numbers on the New Congress Add Up To Despair For Pro-Amnesty Forces

By Roy Beck
Thursday, January 6, 2011, 12:18 AM EST - posted on NumbersUSA

A bold college student politely asked me an interesting question during my presentation this morning to university students from around the country. She said she -- like many students in the auditorium -- had worked passionately for the DREAM Act amnesty. She wanted to know what advice I could give that would offer them hope for passing the amnesty in the future. But the numbers I provided the students about the changed composition of the House of Representatives sworn in today was not cause for much hope for amnesty supporters. Look at the numbers . . . New House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) wrote an op-ed for Politico.com that outlines his committee's plan for the new Congress when it comes to immigration. Chairman Smith says that a top priority will be to oversee the enforcement of federal immigration laws, which will potentially free up 7 million jobs held by illegal aliens for America's unemployed. The Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011, by Rep. Steve King (R-IA), would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the award of automatic citizenship to all babies born in the United States. HR 140 would stipulate that at least one parent must be a citizen or legal permanent resident for the child to receive automatic citizenship.

Nearly every other country, including all members of the European Union, requires that at least one parent be a citizen or permanent resident for a newborn to automatically become a citizen. Current U.S. policy results in over 300,000 additional citizens from anchor babies each year.

40% of HS Grads (18-29) Don't Have A Job, But Immigration Continues -- Is That Language Too Harsh?

My church's denominational website is after me again for my and NumbersUSA's efforts to dramatically reduce both legal and illegal immigration. The national religious leadership is especially concerned about the supposed harshness of my language as I continue to use the word "illegal" as an adjective when referring to citizens of other countries who illegally reside in the U.S. and illegally take jobs. Have any Legal/Illegal Immigrants from anywhere taken you or me out to lunch instead of depressing our wages by flooding the job market at a time of high unemployment or raising our property taxes to put their kids thru school ect?....Your so bullheaded you wont even bother to get educated on the subject...From what I hear there are plenty of hispanic Republicans out there but I could really care less about that.....

Enforcement Efforts Increase at the State Level
picture-202510_1283369949.jpg
While the new Congress continues to settle in, immigration on the state level is really heating up. We told you last week that, in his first act as governor, Rick Scott in Florida signed an E-Verify executive order.

Well, the newly-elected governor in Maine, Paul LePage, has taken a similar action, rescinding a previous executive order that prevented state employees from inquiring about an individual's immigration status. Gov. LePage's new executive order will ensure that social services are not distributed to illegal aliens.
STATE ACTIVITY MAPS: We're tracking all the state-level activity as new legislation is introduced. We've updated our map of states with E-Verify legislation, and we've created a new map that identifies the states considering legislation similar to the immigration enforcement law enacted in Arizona last year.
We're also finishing up the process of entering more than 7,000 fax numbers for local legislators, and once that process is complete, we'll have faxes on your Action Board to help support these state efforts.
BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP IN CONGRESS: Back in Washington, another 7 Members of Congress added their names to the list of cosponsors for Rep. Steve King's birthright citizenship bill. If your Member of Congress isn't yet a sponsor, you can send a fax urging him/her to do so, if you already haven't sent it.
FRESHMEN ARE NOT "F" GRADES: We also want to let you know that we had a minor bug in our grade card system this week. Many of you have contacted us asking why the newly-elected Members of Congress had recent and career grades of F-minus. This bug has been repaired, but keep in mind that as legislation is introduced, these new Members will see their grades drop if they don't take action.
Finally, I encourage you to check out my blog on the new Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Elton Gallegly. The selection of Rep. Gallegly over Rep. King surprised many in the mainstream media, and many of you have expressed growing concern since the announcement. Rest assure, Rep. Gallegly has an impressive 24-year record on immigration.
THANKS,

Alert! CLEAR Act introduced in new Congressional session!
The CLEAR Act of 2011 would assist local governments and officers in removing criminal illegal immigrants. HR 100, the Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal Act by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), states that local and state officers have the "inherent authority" to assist in the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.

The legislation would also discontinue certain reimbursement funds to states that have "sanctuary" laws prohibiting such law enforcement assistance, and it would provide funds to localities for training and equipment.

From: Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA Date: Tuesday 28JAN2011 6 p.m. EST INTRODUCING:

Immigration Grades For
2012 Presidential Hopefuls

Here they are -- brand new:

www.NumbersUSA.com/content/action/2012-presidential-hopefuls-immigration-stances.html

WHO GETS THE BEST GRADE?

It is difficult to label any of the Hopefuls as "best" when the highest grade for the whole lot is "C."

Click here to see who gets that mediocre grade, and the seven who do even worse.

The choices are pretty bad thus far. Of the 8 Hopefuls, we give:

  • an F-minus to one
  • a D-minus to four
  • a C-minus to two
  • a C to one
  • better than C to nobody
STANCES ON 12 IMMIGRATION ISSUES BY 8 HOPEFULS

I doubt that you have a very clear idea of the immigration stances of any of the potential Presidential candidates. It's pretty tough to figure out based on mainstream media coverage, thus far. And politicians do a good job of disguising their real positions.

But you no longer have to wonder.
Go to our brand new page that rates all key potential candidates on the 12 most important immigration issues.

Our NumbersUSA team has combed the internet for all recent comments and past actions. And we have given each Hopeful a rating on each immigration category. The rating options are:

  • Excellent

    [*]Good

    [*]First Steps
  • Unhelpful

    [*]Bad

    [*]Abysmal
The biggest problem with most of the Hopefuls is not that they are taking bad positions but that they are thus far declining to deal at all with most immigration issues. Declining to speak or act warrants an "Unhelpful" rating.

WE COULD USE YOUR HELP

What are your comments, additions & corrections? We want to hear from you, especially if you have links to media reports of immigration statements and positions that we don't have.

The Prez Grid we put up today is a first draft.

It is the best we felt we could do at the moment. It certainly is possible that we have missed some important media report or official statement from many of these Hopefuls.

Send your information to: elections2012@numbersusa.com

WHY ARE WE SUCH TOUGH GRADERS?

The ratings and grades reflect an urgency about the 22 million Americans who want a job but can't find one (the government's "U-6" unemployment category) and about the federal government continuing to force massive population growth while the nation is unable to meet its infrastructure and environmental goals with the current population size.

Refusal to deal with a specific immigration category draws an "Unhelpful" rating.

Merely avoiding "bad" immigration positions and drawing an "Unhelpful" in all the categories will result in a "D-minus" grade.

To get into the "B" grades, a politician has to be proactively taking "Good" actions/stances in nearly all 12 of the categories. And we are going to have to see some "Excellent" ratings before even thinking about awarding an "A" grade to anybody.

PLENTY OF TIME TO IMPROVE GRADES

It is not too early to start educating and pressing potential candidates on the need to make better promises about what they would do about immigration if in the White House.

I expect that most of you have a favorite among the 8 we feature. So, every one of you must be disappointed in the grades.

We encourage you to contact Hopefuls you support in any way and encourage them to improve their immigration stances. They have to know that their supporters may not stick with them if they remain so insufficient on immigration.

These are snapshots of views that are bound to change: We expect stances, our ratings of stances and the grades for these Presidential Hopefuls to change a great deal during 2011.

We will re-evaluate every Hopeful and every position once every week. NumbersUSA expects that as American voters interact with the Hopefuls their immigration positions will improve.

WHY THESE 8 PEOPLE?

Feel free to nominate people whom you think should be evaluated on our Presidential Hopefuls Grid.

The 8 we show on the Grid now were selected based on the interest they have shown in potentially running for President, and in the interest that the news media has in them, plus their standing in preference polling.

We will be adding other people to -- and removing people from -- the grid as these levels of interest shift.

At the moment, we are evaluating:
Pres. Obama
Rep. Gingrich
Gov. Huckabee
Gov. Palin
Rep. Paul
Gov. Pawlenty
Gov. Romney
Sen. Thune

WE GIVE RATINGS ON A HOPEFUL'S PLANS AS PRESIDENT AND NOT JUST PAST ACTIONS

These are not Report Cards on past actions, which matter but not as much as what these politicians now say in the news media or on official websites about the future.

These grades and ratings are about what a Hopeful says a President should do about immigration. We look at contradictions and changes in stances. We generally give the most weight to the most recent statements and actions.

AS USUAL, WE RESPECT YOUR INTELLIGENCE, ANALYSIS & INDEPENDENCE

We don't expect that you will just blindly accept our grades. Rather, we make every step of our grading process transparent so you can inspect the details and decide if you have a different conclusion.

1. THE GRADE. Every week, we assign a grade to each Hopeful. You will see it above the photo of the Hopeful.

2. THE RATINGS. The grade is based on 12 Ratings in the 12 categories, all of which we provide for you to assess in the column below the Hopeful's photo and name.

3. THE SUMMARY. You can evaluate our rating by reading a summary paragraph which you can see in a pop-up by placing your cursor over the rating.

4. THE EXTENDED TEXT. Furthermore, you can evaluate the credibility of our summary paragraphs by clicking on the photo of the Hopeful and reading extended quotes and descriptions of the Hopeful's official comments.

5. THE LINKS. Finally, we provide links in that extended text for you to check the original news reports and web sites.

We expect that our grading of the 2012 Presidential Hopefuls will become the most cited immigration evaluation for them, just as our ratings were the most cited during the 2010 congressional races.

Thanks for paying attention and for any assistance you provide to us,

Thanks, Roy Beck

I Am the Democratic, Republican, Liberal-Progressive's Worst
Nightmare. I am a White, Conservative, Tax-Paying, American
Veteran, Gun Owning Biker. I am a Master leatherworker. I work
hard and long hours with my hands to earn a living.

I believe in God and the freedom of religion, but I don't push it
on others. I ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and drive american-made cars, and I believe in American
products and buy them whenever I can.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and not some
liberalgovernmental functionary,Democratic or Republican, that
wants to share it with others who don't work!

I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!

I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer; it makes you a
smart American.

I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized,
and does not entitle you to
anything. Get over it!

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac or any other item,
you should do it in English.

I believe there should be no other language option.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when
and where they want to.

My heroes are Malcolm Forbes, Bill Gates, John Wayne,
Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers,
and Willie G. Davidson, who makes the awesome Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.

I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching
or arguing about it.

I've never owned a slave, nor was
I a slave. I haven't burned
any witches or been persecuted by the Turks, and neither have you!

I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to
where you came from and change your own country!

This is AMERICA ...We like it the way it is and more so the way
it was ...so stop trying to change it to look like Russia or China ,
or some
other socialist country!

If you were born here and don't like it... you are free to move to
any Socialist country that will have you. I believe it is time to really
clean house, starting with the White House, the seat of our biggest
problems.

I want to know which church is it, exactly, where the Reverend
Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he
is always part of the problem and not the solution?

Can I get an AMEN on that one?

I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're
breaking the law, regardless of what color you are, but not just
because you happen to ride a bike.

And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my driver's license.
I think it's good.... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money..

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want
you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the
world for the next four years.

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me
stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause....
Get a job and do your part to support yourself and your family!

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two
parents....

I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think!

I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in
AMERICA !

If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.

If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone
you know....

We want our country back!
My Country.....
I hope this offends all illegal aliens.

My great, great, great, great grandfather watched and bled as

I watched as my friends died in Vietnam, Panama & Desert Storm.
My son watched & bled as his friends died in Afghanistan and Iraq .
None of them died for the Mexican Flag. Everyone died for the

Enough is enough

This message needs to be viewed by every American; and every

We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough.
I'm taking a stand.

I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died

Friends of ALIPAC,

State legislation targeting illegal immigration is already starting to happen across America! This year will clearly be an historic year for us in the states if we are well organized and if we work hard.

We have dominated our opposition in state battles over the last few years and ALIPAC has played a key role in organizing these efforts, but 2011 can be our best year ever due to the election results.

Our focus in the states will be to ask state lawmakers to "protect American workers, students, and voters from illegal immigration."

This language will be at the center of all we do in 2011.

We want to request that our state legislators act to 1. Pass an improved version of Arizona's historic SB 1070. 2. Cut off all non emergency taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens and 3. Secure our ballot boxes by requiring all voter registrations to be checked for legal presence.

Each state where we pass a strong bill will increase pressures for illegal aliens to leave. We must secure our elections from illegal aliens by 2012!

ALIPAC will announce our "Battle Of the States 2011" official next Monday via national press release.

Please take steps now by gathering up the contact information for your state senator and representatives. You will need this information handy for many calls, emails, faxes, and letters in 2011. Your representatives may have changed since last year so get that current info!

You can begin your contact now with a general request.

Sample Message

"Please file and pass legislation designed to protect American workers, students, and voters from illegal immigration in our state in 2011. We need a version of Arizona's law here and we need to require that all voter registrations be checked for legal presence."

Please remember that the most effective way you can communicate this request is to call and speak with staff or the lawmaker directly and to follow-up your request in writing.

Many state lawmakers will make the time to speak with you directly.

We will provide you with information coming in from different states so you can monitor our progress and focus your attention in your state or other states as things progress.

Please gather your needed contact information and make your initial contacts with state lawmakers and prepare yourself to be more energetic and more effective than the illegal aliens and their supporters this year!

If you have questions or suggestions regarding this effort, please visit this link. ALIPAC activists stand ready to assist you 24/7.
http://www.alipac.us/ftopicp-1172129.html#1172129

If you apply organized political pressure to state lawmakers early in 2011, it can lead to great results.

Let's get to work.

Sincerely,

William Gheen

We need a new political party, I think it should be called America First, and all of its foreign policies, trade policies, and immigration policies have to put America First.

Fixing the immigration situation with Mexico is simple. We build a copy of Hadrian's wall along the entire Mexican - US border, and just as in Hadrian's wall we put gates containing soldiers, custom officials, and immigration enforcement officials at each gate all along the entire wall. I think Hadrian put his gates one mile apart, with modern transportation systems our gates could be further apart than that, say every 10 miles. The purpose of the gates is to encourage LEGAL trade and travel. Soldiers should man the entire wall, with 4 shifts so that the wall can be covered along its entire length, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

The wall should be 2 sided with facilities in between the walls so that a road, a railroad, electrical wires, cable, telephone wires, water pipes, and gas pipes can be placed within the covered area between the walls. It should be easy to move from one part of the wall to another part of the wall without having to leave the wall. Also, living quarters for the troops and immigration personnel should be constructed within the walls.

With modern technology, the entire perimeter of the wall facing the Mexican side can be monitored. Anyone caught trying to enter the United States illegally should get a stiff sentence at hard labor doing something useful.

An air defense system will be needed to track and catch or shoot down air craft crossing the southern border in order to smuggle people or drugs or both.

A naval defense system will be needed to track sea going vessels attempting to smuggle people or drugs or both.

Given the ratio of personnel to border length that the Soviets used on the borders between its Eastern European countries and the West, 500,000 troops would be stationed on the new US / Mexican wall. With modern technology nothing could get past this wall without going through the gates.

Building such a wall would be quite easy. There are many unemployed surveyors and construction people at this time. Laying blocks or pouring concrete is not rocket science. The length and width of the wall can be surveyed and marked quite quickly. Contracts could be given out to any viable sub-contractor to build a short section of the wall with a bonus if they get their work done quickly, and a penalty if they exceed the allotted time. In California they are using this bonus system when building roads and it works very well. The contractors work overtime, run the job professionally and always earn the bonus. The Army corps of engineers can supervise the work. Military personnel can help do the work. The millions of unemployed can be put to work. Prisoners can be put to work. If we make this a national priority the wall could be built very quickly.

Once the wall is completed, we should send 1 million specially trained soldiers to help Mexico put down the drug gangs. By put down, I mean kill and bury. The NAFTA agreement needs to be abolished and a very simple FREE and FAIR trade agreement put in its place.

After the wall is completed we need to round up all the illegal aliens in this country and send them home.

Go to any other modern country without proper paperwork and try to live there and work there and see what happens to you. Mexico will just pick you up and put you into a slave labor system and your family will never know what happened to you. Singapore will give you years at hard labor. The list goes on.

Any US politician who curries favor with illegals should be given many years at hard labor.

Viva la America!!
