Identity, I actually did like the way Fantasia sang Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind"........But, I'm just not a fan of hers. As I said above, I say Diana DeGarmo is the complete package. Did you read above what I said about the singers not singing the "themes" correctly?

i did see that. but honestly, i am HAPPY they did not sing country songs because country is boring.

fantasia has her own style. it's like michael jackson trying to sing country. it doesnt take away from the fact that he is a stud and the king of pop.

John Stevens does have a following, but he needs to make sure he doesn't forget his words and show he can sing more tahn one style. Remember, the people that vote the most in this are teenagers. I do't see Grannies voting 200 times for John S. He will be around a while longer as there are others that deserve to go before him. But he has a small margin for error at this point.

Guys, I think John Stevens because of his age and his demeanor will have broad reach. He is up to 35:1 at WWTS! Time to double up. OMG, I can't believe I am saying this, but I have a new (used) car riding on John Stevens!

(and yes, I agree the "little dancing pen man" should be voted off asap!). Those people voting for JPL will probably vote for JS once their boy is gone.

ppeter, see my above post, where I said that is the teenagers that call the lines 100's of times that will decide the winner. Regardless of his talent, John S. does not have the voice or looks that will get those that sway the votes to get him to win it.
This is assuming all of the voting is on the up-and-up, which is another topic entirely.
I am looking at it purely from a handicapping standpoint.

The only reason he has lasted this long is because he is a boyish WASP. Simon hit the nail on the head when he told JPL "America loves you because you look like Opie on the Andy Griffith Show." JPL showed how ignorant he is when he said he didn't know who Opie was and acted all insulted and pouty.

Fantasia is butt ugly and her mother cruelly named her after a Disney movie.

If the competion was for who can whip their neck from side to side ala "What you looking at MoFo" Fantasia would win hands down

JPL is no more or less talented than William Hung. I am dead serious. Watch William Hung sing and dance again. He sounds funny because he has a thick Chinese accent but he sings in tune. From watching JPL do his silly jig, I don't believe he is any more talented of a dancer than William as well.

The only difference between the two is image. True, they are both famous, so in some sense there is some cosmic justice in the competition.

Tonight's there is "Motown" night. This should help Fantasia, LaToya, and George secure their places.

Camile is supposed to sing something up-tempo and needs a smash to stay alive. Jennifer Hudson is the other girl on the fence to get the boot and needs a solid performance.

John Stevens could pull this off and will stay alive, but Jon Peter may have trouble with this genre and could come off looking foolish.

Amy, Jasmine, and Diana need to continue solid performances as none of the three seems immune to getting the boot.

Doberman, Every night so far has been "motown" night in my opinion, that was my point in one of my earlier posts. As you said, these types of themes should help Fantasia, LaToya, and George , and, when you look back, the country theme last week should of helped some of the others.........But.....the ones you mentioned above, to go along with a couple of others, were allowed to turn country songs "soul" sounding, which isnt fair at all, and defeats the purpose of showing each singer's range. If thats the case, why arent a couple of the others allowed to take the 1st week of "soul" and tonight's "Motown", and turn them country? Seems totally biased IMO.........

I think Amy is this years Kim Locke. Starting slow but I beleive she has talent and will come on to make the top 5. I'm rooting for her. There is just something about her that I really like but I cant put my finger on it.
