It's OK hache, it doesn't offend me, very few things do. I don't hide behind who I am and what I believe in. I admit the show is a little cheesy, but for me it is damn good entertainment, and I wouldn't want to miss it.

The only "cheesy" part of the show I feel is when they put these kids together and make them sing and do ridiculous songs and skits. They've been doing it for 3 years now. The first year was the worst. Last years show improved dramatically, especially in the later rounds when they brought in legendary artists as an extra judge each week, such as Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, etc.. The thing I will always question is the voting system. Not only myself, but many others feel FOX isn't honest about the true results of the voting public and pass along whatever they think is best for the ratings. Still talk about last years screw up in the final with Clay and Ruben. There were different reports everywhere about the voting results being bogus. First year was legit I believe, as I feel has still produced the best singer in Kelly Clarkson.......

john peters is awful. no better than william hung. a complete joke.

I'm glad someone agrees with me on that.

personally, I like the redhead kid who sings Sinatra. He is not good enough to win the competition, but I would buy a CD from him in a second. He can sing the rat pack, that boy is gifted.

He a freak, and nerd, sorry to say, but they need him in this competition to have balance representing the American population. Its good business, and its good for everyone in a whole to be able to relate to their Idol who is like them.

They got a geek. a jock, black guy, black girl, white guy, punk rock locking chick with the pink hair representing those who are different, the asian, the ethnicly mixed girl, the overweight girl, the country girl, an a skinnier black girl, oh yeah a single mom, and midwest white guy. I think thats a good representation of all the singers.

I believe that it is Country theme this week.
Jennifer could stumble tonight and I don't think she is getting many votes. The 3 times she has had a chance to get votes she has not done well.

Ok here goes my summary of tonight's performance.

Diana- solid, workmanlike performance, she seems prepackaged and unoriginal, but definitely talented. She will stick around a while.

George- soulful, a little throaty. By far the best of the males, George stays on.

Fantasia- Macy Gray singing Willie Nelson, ow my ears. Sounded like a duck, and while she looked nice, it was definitely forced. Her little tantrum at Simon hurt her too, she falls back from frontrunner to top 5 here.

John S.- the red-headed stepchild took a beating as he forgot his words. Dean Martin's illigitimate son sounds the same EVERY time, and his limited range will hurt him. Doesn't deserve another week, but would be a surprise if he was gone.

Camile- looked stunning and gave an improved performance which was needed. Definitely wasn't her style of music. While she's my fave, she needs a knock your socks off performance...and soon.

Jennifer- nice change of look, she still oversings. There is not enough room for three black girls, and she lingers far behind LaToya and Fantasia. Will be a sleepless night for Mrs. Hudson as she teeters periliously on the bubble.

Jon-Peter- Mormon boy had Steve Young in audienc for support. He has the teeny-bopper vote which may carry him to the top 5, but his limited talent will be his Waterloo.

Jasmine- The sweetheart of the dance picked tonight for her worst showing. Luckily, she's been money before and will be glad to get the country monkey off her back. A serious threat and a definite up and comer.

Matt- painfully off key and just not in the class of the others. I would have walked out on him if it was Karaoke night at the local pub. But the girls like him, so he stays, but honestly he has zero chance.

LaToya- established herself as the definite frontrunner. She has the most polish and poise and it shows. Her personality and class will sway those pondering her and Fantasia. Right now the chalk.

Amy- she needed a home run to stay alive as she was the odds-on fave to get the boot. Not only did she knock it out of the park, but she hit a grand slam. The pink lady deserves another week based on her performance tonight. It would be a shame if she was booted this week.

Green, solid analysis and writeup. Only if others here could do the same. Thanks for sharing your personal opinions. I like how you tied it all in to the CBB theme we are in right now. On the Bubble and the chalk. Luv it.

BTW, put me down for 7 units on Jasmine at 9-2, and I will take some of that Amy at 16-1, just for the hell of it. She might be the Nevada of this American Idol dance.

I was surprised but looking at it from a purely musical standpoint, Matt is by far the worst. I agree Camile will be gone if she doens't give a performance that wows people. But Amy did it this week, so maybe she can.

Id take your 45-1 on John Stevens Doberman. You have no taste for talent. He is going to get every adult vote. You wont even see him in the bottom 3 until at least the top 5.

Your right Irish, even though I don't care for John STevens, he will get the older Americans votes. I still say Diana DeGarmo is overall best, package~wise. The Jasmine girl showed she cannot sing variety after her performance this week, as well as Camille. What I do not feel is fair here is that some of the singers turn a country song soulful sounding. If that's the case, last week for example, when the theme was soul, why aren't some of the others allowed to put a country edge in it.Also, George should not have been allowed to sing that song "I can love you like that", because there was a pop version of that, and that's exactly what he sang........

I think John Stevens goes DEEP into this thing. He is really starting to grow on a lot of people. I personally think his voice is better than Harry Connick Jr. and that guy has a cult following. I also noticed John Stevens is a really humble, down-to-earth guy and America will too. (look how people reacted to "She Bangs" humble demeanor). This AI fame could not happen to a nicer guy.

I took some John Stevens at 20:1 (WWTS). I also took LaToya at 2:1. She is amazingly consistant.

Sorry CoCap, I just don't see Jasmine going all the way. That last performance SUCKED. Jazzy will make it to top 5 and become a FilAm pop star, but no way does she have the pipes to win it all compared to some of the older singers.
