ADDITIONAL INFO:

Also, what makes a good singer is someone who is not carring to many insecurities, but someone who is confident. You can tell by the song choices, that some of the contestants are carrying some insecurities, which is a normal thing, and more so for the older contestants as they are at that age where your on your own or your out of HS and starting your life. Well in this time life, we all were very insecure in some way, in order to exist , survive, be accepted, be loved, or whatever else we were trying to be or thought we needed to be or have. Jasmine and the younger contestants in HS does not have to deal with these type of things yet as they are not at that age yet. They will later as they get older, but for now there needs and support is being covered by their parents and family, so they are free to test the ranges of emotions, as they have their parents to fall back on due to their age. They are having fun, whereas the others feel all the pressure and that will cost them as well. This is just another angle I felt could give Jasmine another edge.

-Inside info for you all on Jasmine. She won the Road to Fame contest that was filmed here. This was the spin off from Star Search, but it didnt last. She also has been taking singing lessons for awhile , something that the show didnt touch upon or mention. Hmmm, I wonder why. Maybe because it would somehow influence the voting. Or the betting? Anyways, I hope this also helps out. Take the Odds with Jasmine, to be your next American Idol Winner. Aloha CC.

I think that this competition will be a tough one to figure out who will win. I think a lot of people have an opportunity to win after last night's performances, but here are some of the reasons why I don't think these people will win. I don't think that America or the American Idol people will vote a minor as a winner. No minor has gotten into the top 3 in the previous competitions and I do not see it starting this year. This would eliminate Jasmine (although I think that she is very good, and will make it into the top 4, she will not win) This also eliminates John Stevens, Camille, Diana, and Leah (Leah will probably be eliminated tonight if not then Amy will)

I also do not think that Matt is a good singer, and he will be eliminated before the top 8. This leaves Fantasia, LaToya, Jennifer, George, and John Peter. I don't think that Jennifer has a chance either, she has had some good performances but has not received many votes. I think that John Peter Lewis could get really far and ride a wave of popularity to the final 4 but not much further. George is someone who has a lot of talent and the crowd appears to like him, but he too has not gotten many votes. This could change as he advances, so he could be a sleeper, but he will most likely not win. This leaves Fantasia and LaToya. I think they both are really good, but I think LaToya has the advantage over Fantasia. Fantasia has a unique voice but it does not seem like she can sing a variety of songs. This will catch up to her during let's say a country theme night. I think LaToya has the best opportunity to win, with George, Fantasia, and Jasmine as the only other people who have any chance to win.

Camile has the look, but she is so nervous, if she had Jasmine's poise she would be a shoe-in. LaToya and Fantasia are still question marks, I get the feeling that they are pushing the pro-African American agenda at times, and then they disparage Jennifer Hudson who is probably better than both. LaToya is more polished than any of them, but I am still hesitant to put my money on them. Fantasia, I strongly feel, will fail at some point, I just don't picture her as THE American Idol. Jasmine definitely has the talent and is indcredibly sweet and grateful in all her interviews, but I think at some point she will get screwed. I keep hoping and praying that Camile will put it all together, because she has it all, but then she may be gone as soon as tonight. None of the guys have much of an ounce of talent, in my opinion.

The following participants should be among the first to be ELIMINATED (BTW, I may not be a fan of all types of music, but I certainly can appreciate all types):

1.Matthew Rogers-I don't see the talent...although he brings a different style, he is just not performing on the level of many of the other participants.

2.John Stevens-Once again, someone who brings a different and unique style to the competition, but his vocals, even for this genre of music, are not up to par.

3.Camile Velasco: She has talent...she has a voice...she has the look...but she lacks the confidence and should not make the top 8...she has been nervous throughout the entire competition and yet she still gets praise.

4.Amy Adams: Has a great voice...but my impression is that she may not be versatile enough to compete with some of the better performers in the competition...last night was a good example of her lacking versatility when she sang a song that was not by Celine Dion...one would be led to believe that if she can sing songs of Celine very well that she could sing anything...not the case here.

5.Jennifer Hudson: She has lots of talent...she sings very well...but I sensed a little too much arrogance/cockiness in her response to Simon last night and as a result, she may have lost some fans...I think remaining humble throughout the competition is key.

I'm on the fence with Camile, as much as I love her sweetness and beauty AND her singing talent, I have to agree that she needs to get over her nerves. She is DEFINITELY one of the top 5 SINGERS in this group, but not one of the top 5 PERFORMERS as of now. I only hope she gets it together before it is too late.

This group can't compete with last years anyhow IMO. I know some of you guys like here, but Leah Labelle has no business there either.....

I like her in a way also Doberman, but the girl isn't that good of a singer....lol....Also, she's one of those girls that thinks she's much hotter than she really is, and I can't stand that. I think Simon thinks the same thing.......

I completely get a different vibe, that she really doesn't realize how beautiful she is. In a way it depresses me, because she reminds me of many girls I knew, who didn't realize they could do anything. And I definitely think she can sing, last night she wasn't that good, but the time before was outstanding.

Leah is not terrible. She can sing. If you are just not a fan of that type of music, then just admit it.

And if she were so terrible, why did she make it this far?

Are you sure that it's not something else that you don't like about Leah?

Boxing Freak, I think we were talking about two different girls, my comments were geared towards Camile, and you were referring to Leah. I don't thin Leah is terrible, but I think, like Camile, she has a bit of stage fright, which is magnified on Tv.

It's Ok Freak, your opinion is welcome here. If it came off as mean, I didn't mean it that way at all, I would let you know if I did. I respect all these people because I think 99.9999 % of the population would be dying to be in their shoes, me included.

Then don't post and don't care, that is fine with you and your right. I just started watching this show this year and was mesmerized by a few because of my music background. If you don't care, then pass it by, and let us that do debate.
