This is 100% true

Someone somewhere along the line needs to stand up

Yes some of you other guys are right another team will just pay athlete regardless

So the leagues have to meet and come together and make an agreement and trust each other that they won't do that and I'll stand firm

If they strike, so be it let them sit their asses as long as they want and bring in athletes who will appreciate the good money they can make

Eventually the others will come crawling back
You do realize there is a salary cap right ? And every team in the league is required to spend a certain amount of money every year .

Whay you describe is collusion and it’s very illegal

It was 2013 but Peyton Manning isn't black so what does this have to do with anything?

The Mannings are mixed race (black/white).

Seen people talking about how the system is getting out of whack with how much QB's get paid even before being proven and how it cripples teams. Also a lot of talk about Hurts in this thread specifically.

Ironically it might even get worse and partially because of the Eagles . Roseman the GM was somehow able to "fix" his mistake quickly with the Wentz situation. Might make teams even a little more likely to lock down the QB thinking if it doesn't work out it's not the end of the world.

The system really is messed up though. Wentz, Prescott perfect examples. What do you do if your the GM? Wentz looked awesome for a year, most agreed he was legit, then has a couple injury riddled seasons where he was not only hurt but also didn't look as good.
Then the four years are up, time to decide whether or not to commit to him and sign him to a huge deal. with the facts being:
-somebody is going to give him $150+ million or whatever the market is set at, 100%
-player can just sit out that last year of control, or pout
-now you need to decide right now

Do you sign your franchise QB even thought not 100% sold or do you start over?

Signing him to smaller deal, or letting play one more year for more info just aren't options.

Because it is
So when players/agents ballon salaries, it's called "the market"

But when owners try and bring a little sanity back into "the market" it's called "collusion"

It seems players/agents want it both ways.

Rumor has it that Archie said to the kids at a young age... " let the blacks suck you off but never take the chance of impregnating one; we are Mannings... just a notch above the others"

I predict the Patriots will have the #1 overall pick the year Arch comes out.
I’ve seen him in person twice . I honestly don’t get the hype

What?

Such a weird attempt at logic

For some reason when I read these posts, my level of concern for billionaire NFL owners just isn't there. I dunno what it is, but I guess I just lack empathy as a human being. Hopefully they can figure out a way to solve this massive dilemma that I'd call "roster management", maybe we should all say a prayer?

What about Indy and their cap status?

I think they trade up to nab Chicago's #1 overall, but if they could land carr, they can & will refrain and sit tight

Think the Bucs and Saints have the 2 worst salary cap situations.

Carr could walk into Carolina and at worst, be a game a away from the NFL Champ game. I should be his agent.
