I think its practically impossible for Canada to impose similar anti-gambling regulations for the following reasons. Every Province (I believe) has its own gambling and casinos. In the case of British Columbia I can bet NFL, NHL, NBA etc. online at the BC Lottery Corporation using my credit card. The only problem is they have miserable odds on 2 to 12 team parlays. Canada is also a WTO signatory and would be subject to the WTO ruling in favour of Antigua if a case were brought to be against Canada. Canada does not have a history of ignoring its international treaties and agreements and would probably respect the Antigua ruling even though it does not directly apply to Canada.

Nice to see the Canadians are doing things the correct way and honor agreements.

Same cannot be said about the US.

I had a newspaper bookie at college. He made me lay 6-5 and I still beat him until he finally couldn't pay anymore. Can you imagine the frustration of getting your brains beat in by someone laying 6-5? Funny... All I did was call a Vegas spread recording right before calling my man, and I'd bet anything 2.5 points off, and collect on Wednesday.

They might be giving these guys a chance to voluntarily get out of the biz, before persuing them. But who knows what's really going on behind-the-scenes? I do know that there's a lot of offshore books and gamblers who are extremely comfortable right now. The offshore sports gaming environment has turned into a Vietnam night jungle patrol so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face, where there are ambushes waiting, trip-wires and mines, and shit just generally jumping out at you. You sleep with your hand on your weapon (your money) and one eye open.

He was CEO until December 2002. He was appointed non-executive director and Chairman in January 2004.

This is what doesn't pass the smell test for me....even if the US media was napping on this you'd think that the UK media--particularly the UK financial media--would be all over this story if it had any implications on the company. MLK day isn't a holiday there. I'll keep my eyes open over the next few hours as its around 6 AM Tuesday London time. As of a couple of minutes ago there's nothing on the major UK based financial news sites. As it stands, G911 is the only place this story has been reported....

Even if they *were* pinched, Neteller doesn't seemed to be involved on a corporate level. If a couple of ex-Microsoft execs were arrested it would have no impact on their operations--looks like the same deal here.

The best thing to do in my opinion is get your money out of shady books even if you have to forfeit some bonuses and get it into solid books.

That's what I was thinking, a book that "cares", deals, to european costumers, is not gonna scam anybody, they're gonna be in business for a few more years, at least.... meaning they have to pay in order to stay in bussiness....

I will say having a few good locals are nice espically I have noticed that most don't move number after 6:30 pm est and I bet on the spot, no call backs or they are on to you. Never 2.5 point edges anymore but just getting 1 point edges have won for me in the past.

Pulled my money out of Neteller today. I received an email from sportsgambling website owner that their was a rumor that Neteller will no longer be dealing in the USA within the next day or 2.
