valium, I actually started this thread in 2006,and most of the guys who participated in the thread are gone now... not here for any type of recognition just an easy way to journal...wow no love coming back at you from posters after you coming back in to your own thread after 15 months. Well keep up the walking mrganga and the sensible eating and you will get to where you want to be. Hang in there.
same time and distance as yesterday..weight is at 232.8.....nbacapper,here is everything that I've learned..getting rid of the lard is pretty much what and how much I eat. few years ago I was walkin 5 miles almost every day and went from aprox 300 to 235. I went for several months without a weight change, got dejected and just eventually stopped everything that had been workin..I can see now that I was eatin way too much and the only thing stopping me from gain was the walkin and of course that cannot work in the long run. anywho, today I focus 90% on what I eat and I walk because it makes me feel better and I've got a dog that looks forward to it....today I don't eat any processed food at all. pretty much, oatmeal, cooked in apple sauce(unsweetened) for breakfast and a quick snack. grapefruit, bananas, apples, mixed vegetables,tuna,mackerel,beets(pickled)..black folgers. an occasional sprite zero...primary reason I eat these foods is because they are filling.....keep the continue...keep going. i wish i could get out of my current funk. i really enjoyed being in the 170s. at 200 my body is really feeling it after work or sports
gmoney,i eat pretty much the same thing every day so no need for calorie counter. all I need to know is the caqlories in 1 cup oatmeal=300..1cup unsweetened apple sauce=100..1 apple, grapefruit, banana =aprox 100..1 can tuna =100..mixed veg = very low cal...I don't go to mcdonalds ...whole foods for the win..i read that in order to maintain at about 235,i need aprox 33 to 3400 calories and I don't get near that. more like the 2000 you mentioned..I started walking about 4 months ago and lost a little weight I do 5-6 miles 5-6 days a week. I saw very little weight loss, I then was told by my doctor to count calories and now use my Fitbit with the Under Armour calorie counter App which is easy and really good to use, I try to stay around 2000 calories a day and with that the weight has started to come of pretty quickly and of course I eat healthier since I watch what I eat. I have days I go over but most day am under....
Give it a try it works
took a month to get rid of 2 lbs but i'm fine with that. per the food intake,i'm leanin more and more to the vegetarian side of things. i still eat some fish and eggs but nothin like i used to.

thanks angel.....took the dog for a late evenin stroll around the dock for 35 minutes. I love it out there at night. fits in well with the present moment awareness I've been hookin up to...KEEP THE CONTINUEWell, I'm going to give you props...Sure , two pounds isn't much, but it is weight off. You could have continued your old ways and put on 10 pounds. It seems like you are learning more on what to eat. That is the important thing. Keep up the good work.

thanks for the heads up but the reason I haven't dropped any more lard is because I ate too much and didn't exercise enough...when I was 290-300 I could hardly walk but now I take my dog for walks and it really is the highlight of my day,and probably hers too..lolwell done.

you may want to consider seeing your MD for a check up, get baseline numbers. In addition , some conditions make losing weight much much more difficult, ex., hypothyroidism (more prevalent in women), sleep apnea, side effects of medications. Treat the condition
keep at it, have fun with it
