got to the track at just about the time the sun went down behind the trees, and it made for excellent walkin....jogged 59 minutes and walked 25........somewhere around the 30 minute mark i got the runners high and it lasted longer than i think ive ever experienced .....got into a groove and the only way to explain it is this...everything slowed down to a crawl, but i actually went faster for a longer period of time than i ever have...,but it was effortless......the legs are slowly gettin in joggin condition...this one day on and one day off is workin great, wish i could jog every day.........'keep the continue'

hit the trails for 60 minutes worth of joggin and about 25 minutes of walkin...no comparison to joggin up those hills in the forest and doin it on the 1/4 mile track.....sooo much easier not havin to deal with roots of trees, etc on the track..but,it is more fun...track is boring........'keep the continue'

george,i dont just feel like a different human being i am a different human being..being fat changes who you are......when youre as big as i was the thought of it totally consumes you..its scary as hel...when i got to 295 i said to myself that i'd rather be dead than live like this so what are my options? began studyin nutrition and exercise on the internet and started walkin(first day 1/4 mile and it wore me out)...you ask me do i remember what it felt like?...just like it was yesterday and i dont want to ever forget it..i dont klnow how obesity affects people who've always weight issues but for me who had always been in decent shape(quit drinkin,smokin..annnd retired) it was almost overwhelming to realize how i had let myself go.....after i learned everything i could about what NOT TO DO,it sure is a lot of fun learnin what TO DO......lets go for some late night cardio....yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha..................'keep the continue'

78 minutes joggin and 25 warmup and cooldown........i must re-iterate that this 1 hour and 18 minutes of joggin is some of the slowest joggin you'll ever see..im not tryin to race anybody or break speed records, this is just somethin i need to do and happen to enjoy it.i've got a slow steady pace that i seldom deviate from ....recently read a book callled 'running to win' by george sheehan,m.d. (contributing editor, runners magazine)and one thing stuck out in my mind that he said was... 'your body doesnt recognize distance,it recognizes time'....hmmmm..that makes a lot of sense to me.....next excursion will probably be sometime monday in the a.m........'keep the continue'

parked at library, walked down to bike path(15) jogged up 1st half of trail(31) jogged backed down(32) walked back to car(25)...63 minutes joggin and 40 walkin.......by the time i got started it was 84 degrees..joggin up the 1st half of the bike trail wore my ass out..its not severe but a slight incline for abot 3/4 of the 31 minutes..when you're joggin,(especiallya novice)the slightest incline makes a world of difference...for example..it took 31 minutes to go up the hill and 32 to go down it..lol.....my ass was draggin and the last 10 minutes or so i wanted to stop, but i didnt... what that tells me is i was doin some real bidness goin up the hill and my next trip will be back to the track..lol......it sure seemed hotter than 84..guess its because i've been goin out at night or early mornin.....i like joggin in the sunshine but it just takes too much out of ye.....this recliner and ac feels good.........'keep the continue'

parked at library..down to soccer field(16) jogged trail behind soc field + round and half at soccer field itself(61) walked backwards uphill and back to library(16)....61 joggin and about 32 warmup and cooldown....up until tonight, the joggin sessions have been about 25% fun,and the other 75% work......this evening was different from anything i've experienced, since i got my ass off the couch(november 96) and took control of my life.......before tonight he hills would really take it out of me and it'd be like work just to finish......this session was all fun....dont know if its because im gettin in better joggin shape or just had a good night, but i sure hope its the former.........before i headed down the joggin road,i had a conversation with the track coach at berea college.. he said because of all the walkin i'd done that i cold get in halfway decent joggin shape in 30 to 60 days,so guess he was right.......one thing im pleasantly surprised about is that insted of 48 hours rest that was needed initially,i now only need about 30........track coach also said walkin on level ground is just 'maintenance'.....OUCH...he's a cold hearted mfer but he's right.......if anybody asked me about gettin started,i'd tell em to 'hit the hills'..REST..then hit the hills again....trouble is, when youre a couch potato, walkin up hills is almost like torture for the first month or so, and most people cant or wont hang on..........this brings to mind somethin winston churchill said....he'd quit smokin some time ago,and a reporter asked him if he'd ever smoke again and he said...i dont know if i'll ever smoke again but bygod i'll never quit again...lol........6 days to go with the 30 day joggin challenge...........'keep the continue'
