Hognuts, how is your diet? I bet if you cleaned it up a bit you would drop weight even faster - 80% of looks/weight is diet - one tip - try not to drink any calories - drink water, diet soda, crystal light - juices don't fill you up like food and have a decent amount of calories and then yuor hungry later.

It's all very simple - how many calories do you need to maintain - are you taking more, less or a maintaining amount - walking with less calories equals a double weight loss effect.

seymour,my diet is pretty good,i only drink wate and decaf, with heavy whipping cream and splenda, turkey, chicken, spinach, lettuce, onions,a whole one at every meal(anti oxidant) 4 or 5 apples, every day,one can of healthy soup, every night, extra sharp cheddar cheese, found a bread, that is only 5 net, effective calories, per slice, egg beaters occasionally,i eat primarily whole foods, prepare most all of it myself, use no sugar or salt, black pepper is about it, dill pickles, from what i have studied,on the net,i really dont eat anything that is unhealthy,or doesnt go along with tryin to shed the fat,but any suggestions, are appreciated,by november 1st,i plan on weighin,200 lbs..another nice day here in ky,got to go and see if i can knock off another 7 miles, before the baseball games start

The only other thing you can do is try lifting weights too - it makes a difference in speeding up your metabolism - but I would imagine you'll weight 200lbs by November - diet is the most important - nothing else comes close.

Hognuts how long does it take you (on average) to walk the 7 miles?

Keep up the good work started walking two weeks ago i've been doing 2-3 miles with a steep decline and a killer incline been kicking my ass. its been taking me an hour to do that route.

had to go to the track, and the bike trail today, sure is harder on the knees, buut,i got my 7 miles in,72 degrees with a light wind,ye cant beat that...raoul,last time i used a watch,it was takin me about 17 minutes a mile,i usually walk at a soccer field, sometimes the grass is cut very short, sometimes its so long, that it slows me down,,i know that it takes me well over 2 hours,i stop every mile or two,and do some stretchin, drink water, piss call, etc,(thats another reason,i like the woods)one thing i have learned,is that it dont matter (for losin fat)how fast ye go,its about gettin it done, either by time or distance, early on,i did the hills every day, sure made my legs stronger,i believe, that is why i can last for so long now, when i lose 10 more pounds,im goin to consider joggin a bit,(for the cardiovascular benefits),but from what ive read on the net(and i have read just about everything, hehehe),if you go too fast, your body starts burnin carbs, instead of stored fat,i have these weekend warriors, who come out and first thing they want to do is pass everybody, most of the time,i will see them, one more time, about a half mile up the road, layin under a tree, with their tongue hung out,old hognuts, just keeps on truckin,in other words, you cant jump up off the couch, and walk 7 miles,i started walkin,on thanksgivin day, dont recall how far i walked, but i do remember that i didnt think i was goin to make it,it has taken me over 4 months,to build myself up to this,it sure aint been easy, buuuut,if walkin is all ive got to do to become unobese, thats a small price to pay, hang in there raoul, the only thing bad about this is gettin started. my philosophy is this,,,get out there every day,and do what ye can, when you wake up in the mornin and still feel tired, take a day off,not long ago,i had to take 2 days off in a row, when i went back to walkin the next day,old hognuts, was like a young deer, felt so strong,i started to jump a couple fences(not really, hehehe),,iow, rest is very important,my challenge is,to know the difference, between,my legs needin a break, and old hognuts, wantin to watch(and bet on)a baseball game,,in all honesty,i havent,in 4 months(17 weeks)allowed my health,to become secondary,to a ballgame,(or anything else) one thing has become very clear to me,once i got my priorities in order,i enjoy the games(and every aspect of my life)more than i ever had before. 'keep the continue'

Eating whole foods is where it is at. The whole foods have a lot more fiber and all that good stuff that fills you up. White flour and refined foods don't fill you up, so you keep eating more and you put on weight.
levi,i went back to see how far i walked my first day,and seen this,i want you to know, how much, this one sentence helped me,"white flour and refined foods dont fill you up,soo you keep eatin more and you put on weight'.i know it sounds simple,if ye already know it,but if you dont already know it,you can drive yourself crazy, thinkin you are eatin healthy, when you are killin yourself.

Is all of this walking beating up your knees? I know mine would be hurting enough to have me on a bike at this point-and not nearly as big as you are.
