had to go to the track, and the bike trail today, sure is harder on the knees, buut,i got my 7 miles in,72 degrees with a light wind,ye cant beat that...raoul,last time i used a watch,it was takin me about 17 minutes a mile,i usually walk at a soccer field, sometimes the grass is cut very short, sometimes its so long, that it slows me down,,i know that it takes me well over 2 hours,i stop every mile or two,and do some stretchin, drink water, piss call, etc,(thats another reason,i like the woods)one thing i have learned,is that it dont matter (for losin fat)how fast ye go,its about gettin it done, either by time or distance, early on,i did the hills every day, sure made my legs stronger,i believe, that is why i can last for so long now, when i lose 10 more pounds,im goin to consider joggin a bit,(for the cardiovascular benefits),but from what ive read on the net(and i have read just about everything, hehehe),if you go too fast, your body starts burnin carbs, instead of stored fat,i have these weekend warriors, who come out and first thing they want to do is pass everybody, most of the time,i will see them, one more time, about a half mile up the road, layin under a tree, with their tongue hung out,old hognuts, just keeps on truckin,in other words, you cant jump up off the couch, and walk 7 miles,i started walkin,on thanksgivin day, dont recall how far i walked, but i do remember that i didnt think i was goin to make it,it has taken me over 4 months,to build myself up to this,it sure aint been easy, buuuut,if walkin is all ive got to do to become unobese, thats a small price to pay, hang in there raoul, the only thing bad about this is gettin started. my philosophy is this,,,get out there every day,and do what ye can, when you wake up in the mornin and still feel tired, take a day off,not long ago,i had to take 2 days off in a row, when i went back to walkin the next day,old hognuts, was like a young deer, felt so strong,i started to jump a couple fences(not really, hehehe),,iow, rest is very important,my challenge is,to know the difference, between,my legs needin a break, and old hognuts, wantin to watch(and bet on)a baseball game,,in all honesty,i havent,in 4 months(17 weeks)allowed my health,to become secondary,to a ballgame,(or anything else) one thing has become very clear to me,once i got my priorities in order,i enjoy the games(and every aspect of my life)more than i ever had before. 'keep the continue'
