June 25th 7k Play Of The Week
7k Toronto -117 (Easy Winner 10-8)
The White Sox come in off a very solid series vs the Red Sox, in which they took three of the four games played, but I don’t see them keeping it going here. Miguel Gonzalez has nice numbers vs the Jays in his career, but he has struggled overall this year, especially at home where he has a 5.87 ERA. That is not good news when you’re about to face a hot Toronto offense. The Jays have the far better offense in this game and they also have the edge on the mound with Dickey over Gonzalez. Take Toronto in this one.

June 25th 7k Play Of The Month
7k Boston -132 (Lost 3-10)
The Rangers are the hottest team in the AL and may be the hottest team in the majors right now. Boston may have taken the win in the finale against the White Sox but they’ve struggled mightily of late. Still, if there is a pitcher that can slow Texas right now, it may well be the knuckleballer Wright. He leads the league in ERA and has averaged better than seven innings a start. With the Rangers’ rotation banged up, the bullpen may be a bit overworked. Boston picks up a gritty win in this contest.
June 25th 5k Play of The Day:
5k Houston -1.5 +125 (Super Blowout Winner 13-5)
I am taking Houston in this one. Fiers has been solid as of late, allowing only a combined six runs in his last four starts, so I feel confident backing him. Also Young has not been good this season, posting a 5.56 ERA, and he has a 5.49 career ERA against the Astros and Houston is starting to look like the team we saw last season so I think the Astros offense will get to Young, notching the victory in the process.
June 26th Play of The Day
7k Cincinnati -1.5 +165 (Easy Winner 3-0)
Perdomo is making only his fifth start after 15 appearances coming out of the pen. His last relief appearance and his first four starts have truly been disastrous. In that time, he has given up 24 runs in 23 innings. What’s scary is that has barely moved his ERA at all. His ERA has been above nine for every appearance but one dating back to May 10th. It’s truly amazing the Padres don’t have anyone else they can pitch. I like Cincinnati in a rout my friend!!!

7k Pittsburgh Over 8.5 +105 (Easy Winner 9 Runs By The 5th Inning)
I look for this one to resemble game one were they put up 14 runs. Both starters are struggling right now and these offenses should be able to take advantage of that. Liriano has struggled in day games with a 6.67 ERA in five starts, with those games averaging 10.8 runs-per-game. Kazmir has also struggled in day games with a 7.71 in three starts and those games have averaged 14 runs-per-game. He also has a 5.17 ERA on the road and his road starts have put up 10.29 runs-per-game. Look for around 12 runs in this one. The Pirates are:

Scherzer has had a lot of success against the Mets, posting a stifling 2.30 career ERA against them, and the Mets lineup is only hitting a combined .227 against him so I feel confident Scherzer can continue his success against the Mets. Also Verrett has not pitched well as a spot starter, posting a 5.79 ERA in his four starts, so I think the Nationals will be all over him in this one.

7k Texas +121 (Lost 1-2)
The Rangers have proved themselves to be the much better team than the Yankees, both throughout the season and in dominating the first two games of this series. Michael Pineda has been a huge disappointment and the potent Ranger offense may well just beat him up early. I think the Rangers win another easy one over the Yankees.
The Texas Rangers are:

The Dodgers may have the better team, but I like the way Zach Davies has been pitching. I expect a low scoring game and I tend to favor the home teams in matchups like this. I think it’s a one run win for the Brewers and I expect Davies to be just a little bit better than Maeda on Thursday. Let’s take the Brewers at home.

5k Chicago Cubs -125 (Lost) This game is a tough call but I am siding with the Cubs in this one. Both starters are coming off rough outings, but Lackey is a veteran and I feel more comfortable siding with him, plus the Mets lineup is only hitting a combined .235 against him. Also, the Cubs hit left handing pitching well, scoring 107 runs in 57 games against lefties, so I am confident they can score some runs off Matz. The Mets offense simply hasn’t been productive enough, so I would side with the Cubs who can score runs in bunches.
The Chicago Cubs are:
12-3 in their last 15 games against a left handed starter.
4-1 in Lackey’s last 5 starts against the NL East.
23-9 in their last 32 games against a left handed starter.
17-5 in their last 22 Thursday games.
The New York Mets are:

I think this pitching match up is pretty close, with maybe even a slight edge to Philly. However, I think the Royals are still the better team and they will be playing a bit desperate with the Indians not losing ahead of them. The Royals seem to play their best when they are cornered and that’s how this series feels like. I think KC takes at least two of three and get the win on Friday.
