playersonly and autiger,
i appreciate the sentiment. No one will give me an explanation. First they insinuate i tried to "past post" (a losing horse) then the supervisor tells me they were having a problem and then hangs up on me and now no one will even answer me on the boards. If i was trying to pull something (which is obvious i wasnt) they would have been in here in a ny minute to jump on my story but their absence speaks volumes. Its hard enough for me to pick horse winners (i really suck) and when i get one and i know im in the right and they screw me over it, it just pisses me off. I hate the feeling of being taken advantage of..i just dont get it

I thought the General said they would read this post and answer .
Also I believe he said they were a book in his top three.

I guess this is another one of those famous; "oh Well's"

Firstly, BetWWTS would like to apologise for the delay in responding to your initial posting on the forum.

We do acknowledge that we were experiencing difficulties with our racing service yesterday evening but this was an unrelated problem. Unfortunately the software was not closing some of the races at post time and instead left a number of races open past post. This was a timing issue and in no way did it affect the logging of any wagers placed at a particular track once the wager was confirmed. What was wagered online or over the phone is exactly as the client or clerk entered the bet.

That being said, since the problem was brought to the attention of the supervisor on duty late yesterday evening, we have conducted extensive investigations of all of our log files for yesterday’s racing at Northfield.

According to our records, the wager you placed at Northfield was on race 4 not on race 5 as you suggest. Please see our rules and regulations for further reference – more specifically rule 9.3 - Online wagers via the Internet are the sole responsibility of the customer.

As per the numerous e-mails we have sent to you today regarding your payment request, we have sent the full balance of your account by Fed Ex today. Please feel free to give us a call on 1-888-609-9450 to receive your tracking number.

To avoid such misunderstandings in future when placing a wager online whether with BetWWTS or any other book, we strongly recommend that players make a physical print out of their wager confirmation screen. This is for the protection of both the player and the sports book by providing irrefutable evidence to assist in the speedy resolution of any dispute and avoid any potential disappointment.

I'd also recommend cutting-and-pasting the actual wager screen into an email that you send to yourself with the book it was placed and a short description of the wager in the 'Subject' - then you'll not only have proof, but since you email it immediately you'll have a time-stamped copy in your Inbox - very handy for emailing to customer service. Once the wager has been settled okay, you can simply delete it.

Obviously your "EXTENSIVE" research was not extensive enough.. You missed the the part where i pasted on here that that the race 4 wager was put in at 8:06 and went off at 8:08...the race 5 wager (the wager in question)was put in at 8:28 and went off at 8:30...If you did such "EXTENSIVE" research you would have seen the pattern of every race i bet goes in 2-3 minutes before post time. To come in here with this lame excuse instead of admitting you were wrong and credited my wager is a joke. I will not let this go and will haunt you as i dont like the feeling of being taken. I would also appreciate your answer on why your "supervisor" hung up on me.

Also genius, you claim what happened was that i bet on a race that was already run but was left open, WHY THE FU#K WOULD I BET THE 1 HORSE TO PLACE WHEN HE DIDNT RUN FIRST OR SECOND IN THE FOURTH RACE?????besides i had bet the fourth race 20 minutes before and lost

Here is what you do. Get a bunch of firends together and starting jamming their phone lines on saturday and sunday at crunch time. Not only does it cause them grief it costs them every time they answer. You can find programs that will autodial repeatedly if you have dialup service. They sound like crooks to me.screw em'

happyday,
I don't know who is right here. You sound certain as does WWTS. We ALL make mistakes and it's the bigger person who can admit when they are wrong. Obviously that is not going to happen in this particular case. I take neither your side not WWTS side. But let me say this, a long time ago, I stopped wagering horses with WSEX because they're software would have the clock wrong and a race even 5 or more minutes away from posttime would not go through. I had the same experience with Carib, although rare! I know this is not the exact situation which you are discribing, but I think for Horse wagering on line, "Youbet.com" is hard to beat. Yes, even they have had a problem from time to time --but I don't recall it being clock related.Plus all wagers are very easy to print out and in black ink. More of an updating feature or some minor flaw. So, I just want to give a vote of confidence to them for horseracing. It is a shame your relationship with WWTS has ended on such a sour note. They are well regarded in the industry as you are aware. Thanks for posting about this and I'm sure other horse players will be very carefull and watching for future problems. Good luck.

This is unfortunate at least. I have communicated with WWTS and was told that the software indicated the player did indeed wager the wrong race and WWTS went thru extensive research today to see if their software could have been at fault and found nothing that would indicate such.

Without a screen shot by the player as suggested it is impossible to determine the actual wager.

I think many of us have experienced the same at some point with books & all we can say is it was a lesson learned.

There is no doubt that WWTS would not intentionally try and take this players money and jeopardize a stellar reputation.

happyday - I agree with oldmantime...

Condolences on your loss, and it sounds like you got a raw deal, but don't play horses at books like this with shit software for horses (or anyplace that won't pay full track odds, take bets til post, etc.)...there are way too many good places to play and not take a chance on one of these books with shit software, that have no clue what they're doing with horses, screwing something up like this...

betehorse and pinnacle are great for offshores, and youbet and expressbet, among others, are great for US based systems...

general,
i pasted the wagers as well as the start times of the race (per northfields website). remember i did bet race 4 and lost 20 minutes before. On wwts website they dont show the previous race when it is closed. the only race they had open for wagering was race 5.So there lame excuse i bet the wrong race is a lie. whatever the reason they stole 150.00 from me and it will not be forgotten

oldman and thrill,
i agree with you but didnt think wwts was one of the crappy racebooks. I have learned otherwise.anyways, thanks for the feedback though

WWTS just give him his money! WHY ON EARTH would someone place a bet on a losing horse??????? IF he knew the results, then he would not bet a losing bet!!!!!!!!

Somehow I remember how WWTS screwed over another player not too long ago on this site in regards to a tennis match I believe.

Now you probably dont want me as a customer anwyay, but I wont join just for you guys taking a stand like this on an OBVIOUS mistake. Hell I bet more than this, no telling what you would do on my account.

Why not give out the tracking number right now??

i have a friend that had a similar instance happen at wwts. i think it is their software. if the racing software is the same as the sports then know what you probably did. if you bet on 1,2,3 or more races and do not clear the wagering box, you can accidently bet the same game/race. that is what my friend did. she made a wager on one game, then went to place a wager on a different game and the check was still in the first game she wagered on. in return, NOT DOUBLE CHECKING her wager, she bet the same game again. their software is a little tricky when it comes to that. i think they should change it. if you have played with them you know what i am talking about. just be thankful it was $150, not 1K like my friend bet. anyways, wwts isnt out to screw people, they can be a little too cautious with their security questions, but other than that a great book.

Happyday,

I feel your pain; dealing with issues with books have become increasingly more and more difficult. Now, we have a major book who is keeping 150.00 lousy dollars of your money.

This is indeed embarrassing and just shows everyone the type of industry this is becoming.

Both large and small books have to revert to this type of action and manner to properly resolve these issues. Not good.

Sorry again,
SA

Did you call them on the phone number they wrote to call for the tracking number? (toll free number)

If you called and they didn't give it to you qa they stated,I'd be very interested in that.

I can't believe this isn't the most talked about topic on the board. WWTS claims the guy bet on race four, 20 minutes after the race was over. Not only that but he bet on a horse to place when the results were already out that the horse finished 3rd.

WTF? Any moron can see that the guy was betting race 5. Does WWTS think that this guy just wanted to give them $150 for free, knowing it was a losing bet? Jesus! Where's the outrage in this? Not only that, but why the hell was race 4 even open for betting 20 minutes after the race was over?

WWTS even acknowledges that they were having problems at the time!

This is WWTS' mistake and the player should be credited with his win. No question about it.

How do we, as bystanders know what to believe?

------------------------------------------------

This is off topic here, but I am not surprised at anything. I have been a LONG TIME customer of WSEX from the early days! Rarely ever winning, but I like and trust the book. Sunday-my account was tapped out and I tied to make online credit card deposit. Got a decline message and message to call them I did and the girl tried to put it through manually. It was still declined. I tried another credit card (online same story). So I sent them an email asking if they would pick up the 8.9% instant cash fee from Neteller. No response. Now keep two things in mind. One I've been a long time customer and 2. have never gone for a bonus. Basically this shows me there is no loyalty to any player from any of these companies. Even the ones with rock-solid reputations!
Just a "for what it's worth comment".
