By SEX TRIPLING the payouts the NEXT day they have admitted they screwed up without actually saying it. My eyes have been OPENED WIDE with this fiasco. The RX is NOT what I have come to believe. they really should not be accepting wagers on this race if they can only pay 600-1 take it off the board...........you know your just screwing people..........i'd love to be in the books spot on this one. Having said that i have often played big race here in canada where the pool is seperate and you often get 50% of what a tri pays in the US..............i'd be curious to know what wsex entire take was in tri's on the derby

If I were WSEX and the other books that cap payouts, I would lay off these bets to books that actually pay track odds. What a no lose situation I would be in! I would pray that someone hit a big trifecta. I would get paid $11,400.00 (in this situation) and would only have to pay out $602.00. What a great profit at no risk.

This logic is among the many reasons that bookmakers, once upon a time, and long before internet bookmakers, horseracing had limits on payout odds.

Yes I bet horses offshore but I place my horse bets with Pinnacle.

I am a business lawyer so I read and know the rules at everyone book that I bet with. I read all of the fine print.

That is the problem here. There was no fine print.

"PAYOUTS BASED ON ACTUAL TRACK PAYOUTS"

This means to me that are paying full track odds. I will repeat myself a third time. This is the biggest fucking race of the year. Virtually every trifecta and exacta they booked would have paid over their limit. They should have used an asterik here, "see house rules". I am business lawyer. They would lose a lawsuit.

They have lost all credibility with me. I am fair. I don't always side with the player but this is an ass raping.

I held WSEX in high regard before this debacle. They should pay out 100% of the trifecta. $1,800 is bullshit.

WSEX is wrong. They created the confusion here.

Pay the player or suffer the consequences of being a second or third rate sportsbook.

cant believe u wudnt check the payout before the bet - anyone who has bet horses before knows in these large races its going to be larger than normal

the headline basically is dishonest as well- but they are going to always try to get the better of the client - not sure any book wants a 2 dollar bet to result in a 10 k + payout - regardless if you spent 2 dollars or 200 to hit it.

Every horse player is responsible for his own due diligence. Failure to understand the actual payouts before you bet is plain stupidity. How can anyone in who knows anything at all about gambling bet horses if they are not 100% certain of the payouts involved. That is beyond me. The payoff limits are real easy to find with a couple of mousestrokes not doing so is just plain lazy.
