There's no way WSEX pays this off... they aren't in the wrong. Smokey keeps conviently leaving out the word 'based' in most of his posts and there's a difference between 'paying actual track odds' and 'the based on actual track odds'. And I'm sure WSEX is about to close their doors since Smokey's life mission is to shut them down. READ the Rules before you play is a simple way to avoid losing money on something like this.

Thank you Max. I'm glad others are seeing the light on this one. I've been saying the same thing, but it's like talking to a wall at times.

Pinny and CRIS are your two best options.

To add to this, CRIS is a great out for horses but do have a dollar cap on race tracks by category A, B and C.

Pimlico is normally listed as a C track with a $10,000 payout limit on any one race. Perhaps they will lift or raise their limits for the Preakness. Belmont is normally listed as a A track with a $30,000 payout limit on any one race.

Pinnacle has similar race limit levels as shown below.

The best lesson is to not play horses at sportsbooks & instead focus on specific horse wagering places where payouts aren't a concern.

Labeeb,

No problem.... it's pretty cut and dried from what their site says.

If you are a large player, the last thing you want to do is place money into places like youbet that links directly into the mutual pool. Your odds will be killed at small and medium size tracks. That's why offshore is the place to wager as long as you pay attention and stay within the limits on exotics and straights and not exceed the payout ceilings.

Ted,

Am I understanding this correctly?

So essentially there are NO sportsbooks that will pay the same on large payouts?

Pinancle has a limit of $100,000 on the Triple Crown races. Will tracks pay higher amounts?

Are there ANY places on the net that pay equal to what a track will play?

I'm sorry but I am way too busy handicapping races & coming up with my selections to worry about where to bob & weave to get down on races & calcuate payouts & whether or not I am going to get screwed.

Betting on the horses shouldn't be some CIA mission.

It's not a CIA mission. It takes about 15 seconds to calculate. If you play horses, surely you have the mathematical aptitude to do the simple math.

When betting anywhere from 1 dime to 10 dimes on a race, you have to know your payouts by watching TVG or Youbet and can't afford to not calculate what to expect and can't afford to pour that type of money into the mutual pool at any track. That's why wagering at offshore sites like CRIS that don't put money into the mutual pool are important and the right place to bet. For the small time player, it's a different story.

I do play the horses & find the task playing at books beyond ridiculous which is why I stopped playing. I got sick of being screwed by ridiculous cutoff times, taking tracks at one point & not afterwards later, etc....

I prefer to bet where I know my money is safe, I don't worry about ridiculous caps & can have the easiest access to my money.

I have bet nice size chunks on races many a time. One other big reason I don't care to play at books is the tracks I usually want to play they don't even take.

To the best of my knowledge, all sportsbooks that I am aware of have ceilings either on exotics and/or the entire race. This doesn't mean there is some book out there that may pay full track odds with no limit. I am just not aware of any. This limits their exposure. They all vary that's why it's important to know their payout rules. As for on the net, yes Youbet.com is linked to the tracks and the funds go into the mutual pool and I believe they pay the same as the track.

If you are playing at tracks that the books don't take, then I must assume they are small tracks. If, as you say, you bet nice size chunks on races at small tracks and the money goes into the mutual pool, your odds would be dramatically dropped. Hate to say this, but something doesn't add up here. I've been involved in horse racing for 34 years. Tell me how if your money is going into the mutual pool and how it is not affecting the odds if your betting large amounts?

I HAVE TRIED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE RX TODAY AND SET BACK AND THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY.

HERE ARE THE FACTS AFTER TAKING MANY, MANY DEEP BREATHES.

* I CAPPED THE HORSES VERY LITTLE DURING THE WEEK.
* I DECIDED THAT I LIKE 4 HORESE AND WOULD PLAY A 4 HORSE TRI BOX, I WOULD PLAY TWO OF THEM ACROSS THE BOARD, ANE PLAY A COUPLE EXT BOXES.
* I AM IN RURAL WEST VIRGINIA ON BIZ AND LEAVE A MTG THAT WAS 10 MINS FROM MT HOTEL TO GO PLAY THE RACE KNOWING THAT I CAN PLAY AT A CREDIT HOUSE OR DRIVE RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD TO (TO MY SURPRISE) A VERY NICE TRACK AND BET. THE FIRST THING I DO IS CALL A FEW FRIENDS THAT DO DECENT ON THE DERBY. THEY ARE FAMILY. MY FAMILY OWNS 2 BOX'S AT CHURCH HILL BUT I HAVE BEEN SO MANY TIMES AS A CHILD but THE LAST TIME I WENT I HIT 5 OF 6 ON THE PICK SIX AND HAD A BLAST THAT NIGHT. THERE IS NO WAY I COULD EVER HAVE THAT MUCH FUN AGAIN SO I HAVE NOT BEEN BACK THERE. I'M FUNNY LIKE THAT. IF I HIT A VEGAS CASINO I NEVER BET IN THERE AGAIN.I FIGURE I WON AND MOVE ON.
* BEFORE I BET AT MY CREDIT HOUSE AND GO TO THE TRACK (I THOUGHT IT MAY BE FUN TO GET IN ALL THE FURRY) THEN DECIDED I WOULD RATHER JUST STAY IN MY ROOM AND WATCH THE RACE BY MYSELF THEN GO EAT AT ONE OF THE BEST ITALIAN REST. I HAVE EVER BEEN IN.
* I HAD BEEN PLAYING POKER THE NIGHT BEFORE AT WSEX.COM AND ULTIMATE BET. I PREFER UB BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE PLAYERS BUT MAINLY THE HAVE HEADS UP GAME. LOVE THE NUMBER OF HANDS AND READING ONE MAN. ANYWAY, I SEE ON THERE HORSE SITE THAT THEY ............

"PAYOUTS ARE BASED ON ACTUAL TRACK PAYOUTS"

AND I HAVE NEVER REALLY WON ANY MONEY, NAH, I HAVE LOST MY ASS FOR YEARS THERE. THAT'S THE TRUTH AND THOUGHT IF I HIT THIS TRI I WILL HAVE FINALLY WON SOMETHING FROM THEM.

* YES. I KNOW THAT MY LOCAL PUTS CAPS ON HORSE PAYOUTS. YES, I KNOW OTHER OFFSHORES DO ALSO.
* BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE RIGHT THERE IN PLAIN SIMPLE ENGLISH THAT THEY PAYOUT ACTUAL TRACK PAYOUTS... NONE OF THEM.

* IF THERE HAVE BEEN AN *ONLY ON WIN, PLACE, SHOW. READ RULES AND REGS ON EXOTICS. I WOULD HAVE BET AT THE CREDIT SHOP OR SIMPLY RIGHT 30 MINS AND CASH AN HUGE TICKET.

* WSEX HAS TO KNOW THATTHEY GET A TON OF HORSE ACTION ON DERBY DAY FROM NON HORSE PLAYERS. THEY HAVE TO KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS. I HAVE NOT BEEN THE ONLY PERSON THAT READ THAT AND THOUGHT "WELL, I SHOULD READ FURTHER BECAUSE THAT IS UNCLEAR". IT WAS VERY CLEAR.
* AFTER THE PAYOUT WAS POSTED I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH A VERY, VERY RUDE MAN AND BELIEVE ME IF YOU WANT, AT THAT TIME I WAS BEING VERY NICE. I AM OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW THE SUGAR OR VINIGER DEAL. HE HUNG UP ON ME WHEN I ASKED TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT AND I WOULD NEVER PLAY WITH THEM AGAIN.
* I CALLED BACK AND GOT A MAN THAT WAS VERY SINCERE AND A CLASS ACT..... HIS NAME IS "ALLEY"... HE SAID THAT IF HE WAS ME HE WOULD BE ANGR ALSO AND THAT HE UNDERSTANDS WHY I THOUGHT I WOULD BE PAID "BASED ON ACTUAL TRACK PAYOUTS" BUT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. HE ASKED ME TO WAIT A COUPLE DAYS UNTILL HE COULD TALK WITH SOMEONE HIGHER UP.

*** IN THE VERY BEGINNING OF THIS THREAD EVERYONE AGREED WITH ME. NOW ALL THOSE THAT REALLY DO NOT KNOW ME BUT DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT SOME PEOPLE PAY ME FOR MY PLAYS HAVE DECIDED TO TRY AND TAKE IT OUT ON ME HERE. THAT'S COOL. BUT I AM RIGHT AND THEY ARE WRONG.
* THEY WOULD NEVER WIN THIS BATTLE IN AN AMERICAN COURT.

* OH, I FORGOT THE BEST PART. AFTER SEEING THE "ACTUAL TRACK PAYOUT" ON TV I CALLED A MAN THAT OWNS A BMW MOTORCYCLE I HAD BEEN BIDDING ON AND BOUGHT IT. HE TOLD IT OFF EBAY AND I HAVE TO TAKE IT THIS WEEK. SO, I WENT FROM GETTING THS BIKE AND STILL HAVING AROUND 3K IN MY POCKET TO GETTING $600 AND PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET FOR THE BIKE.

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. I WILL NEVER LET THIS DIE. NEVER.:icon_conf

I never once said it didn't affect the odds so don't go there. I don't consider Finger Lakes the smallest track out there but alot of books I have noticed don't take it anymore.

SmokeyLoser, YOU'RE AN IDIOT. THE WSEX RULE ON MAX PAYOUTS HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. READ THE RULES STUPID!!

Most off-shore books have max payouts on exactas and tri-fectas.

EXACTLY RIGHT. The rules were there, and before placing a bet, it is the players responsibility to know them, and not cry about them when the posted rules bite him in the ass. The WSEX Horse rules are easy to find, and if the player didn't do his homework, it's not the books fault. It's ironic that this comes from you though, Chuck, considering how you've railed about SIA's boxing rules about 3 way action and draws, considering it was clearly on their website. The Books were correct in both sitautions.

All prices are based upon Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices when i see this I still check the real price. Do your homework and you wont be crying like a little baby.
