A chunk of it comes from taxes. But there is no direct connection between the two anyways. Hence the deficit. The federal government can spend however it wants due to the fact that they control the federal reserve. And even all of this is besides the point. You're better than this man. I will state it again clearly. The extra money donated for taxes goes to pay the debt down. Not going to magically start programs.
