So you are telling me an NFL bust like Manziel wanted no part of Mariotta. What's next? Jamarcus Russell wanted nothing to do with him either.

You're the one that started the comparisons between the two, not me.....I'm just making a point with it..

If you say so buddy. You told me Manziel wanted no kinda competition with Mariotta.

Mariotta seems like a decent kid but so is Tebow. That style just doesn't work.

Let's talk about this pending trade.

I'm done with this thread...I have made my points...I will add this though..and we can revisit this thread down the road. My prediction is MM will be a real good starting QB in the NFL for a dozen years...That would be worth the high draft pick..

You are done because you can't successfully debate me. I have made great well thought out points. Like I said, I don't anticipate Mariotta being an off the field distraction but that style doesn't translate. The first time you see him in a pistol or read option, it is over. i don't care if it is a 45 yard gain. It's over.

And think about this Red Eye, I would trade down. i already have Mike Evans, now I will have Amari Cooper. I get my white pocket passer in the 3 or 4th rounds prob with the pics you are trading me. I now only a TE away and a couple lineman from being great on offense....I play my white qb from Day 1 so I can see how he will do with a big sample size. I bring in vertern old back up to help him. If we win, means he is doing great, he falls on his face, i have another high pick and may take Hackenburg if he checks out. Not committing to him but you get the point.

You absolutely must have a qb to consistantly win.

What is the flaw in my plan?

I want 2 #1 picks to move down 3 sports as Raiders may take him. I want this years 2nd, next years 3rd and DJ Hayden. If you are willing to part with Kalil Mack, you can keep the 2nd round pick ( conditional) and get a conditional 5th round pick.

Good price for your franchise qb.

I haven't read all of this thread & everyone's opinions, but all I can say, as a lifetime Buccaneers fan, I pray they don't use that #1 overall pick on Mariota OR EVEN Winston.

Yes we need a QB, but I'm not sure either of these guys are even as good as Teddy Bridgewater, who was picked 32nd overall last year...

My phone hasn't even rang today from Chicago or New York for their GM positions. Ridiculous. all 3 jets quarterback would be gone.

Not making a judgement on Mariotta but there are legitimate questions if he can be a consistent dropback passer at the pro level, we'll see.

That's why I like Winston better. Winston is a true pocket passer. One of the best I've seen in college. Although his 1H interceptions are very weird this year. Not sure what's going on with that.

This must be a difficult college football playoffs for you!! Who you rooting for?

Roll Tide. It seems like its been 2 months since a meaningful college football game has been played.

Alabama and Florida State just have more talent. I know, I know. 2 black quarterbacks. It can work in college but not in the NFL.

I imagine Vince Young looked better in high school than Tom Brady.

Whatever, bro.

You're the worst kind of homer. Your QB (Mariotta) is no different than any of the other running/spread option QBs that have come out....and FAILED...over the last few years. But, as a homer, you can't admit that. I got it.

You're right. There's no need to further "debate" this topic....

CB: 1 (and that's being generous)

No way I take MM in the first.

Those who thinks Russell Wilson sucks is an idiot. He is a bad ass.

Clinton Dix.

Ones that come to mind that struggle are Trent Richardson, Kirkpatrick, and McClain, Mark Ingram. They have so many top picks, some won't make it. You can't count guys like McCarron who are throw away picks. Julio Jones looks very comparable to Amari Cooper. I am trading down not up.

And paning out is not always a pro bowler. With your 1st round pick, you would hope he would be though. When you have so many NFL draft picks, not all wil be standouts.

I would say by and large, Oregon players don't work out in the NFL especially on offense. Lamichael James lit the world on fire in college.

McClain and Ingram are doing very well right now.
