Soda - but got made fun of in college (Ohio) where they called it pop. Then got made fun of again when I moved down south. Still calling it soda.

I have some friends in Pittsburgh, and have been over to visit a few times. These people legitimately say yinz in everyday conversation. So weird.

I've lived in Chicago and Cincinnati and I've never once heard someone call them gym shoes.

Instead of you guys or y'all.

Are yinz having people over tonight?

It sounds so ridiculous. I thought it was made up at first, but it is definitely real.

People talk like that? My family from Chicago make fun of me just for saying y'all which is perfectly normal dialect.

Yep. People in Pittsburgh do, almost overwhelmingly.

Yeah my family clowns me for saying y'all too. It's just faster.

I grew up in New York/New England, and the term was definitely "sneakers." I find myself still using the term, even though I've been
in the south for 25 years.
