The word of the year 2008 was "change" in American politics. I believe this season the pac 10, regarding standings, could see alot of actual change, compared to last year.
USC, since 2002 has carried the big stick, like the Bush family most of this decade. Most people dislike them, but they still have the biggest guns in the room, so you have to respect them.
However, this year enough people "had enough" and USC finally gets dethroned. Berkeley, California and its liberals like King Obama, take the crown.
UCLA will be the John Edwards team. A coach with a collegian face, deep pockets, wise staff, but something about him makes you wonder if he is too shady to be trusted with the keys to the store.
Both Arizona teams will be like McCain & Palin. Only in the race to fill the field knowing they arent going to win when the race ends. They will add flavor winning a few games, similar to adding a nice set of legs at least to keep the race interesting into October.
Harbaugh and Stanford will be like Ron Paul, alot of spunk and heart, great ideas, but dont have the horses to really make real waves. However, Harbaugh has his own "yes we can" ideas and proves it punching one or two big guns in the mouth and getting Stanford to a bowl.
Washington acts like Huckabee, wins a few games here and there, but eventhough better than last year, nobody will be talking about them in November.
Although also filled with liberals, neither Oregon team finishes higher than 4th in pac10 this season. The Oregon teams, like Hillary Clinton, come bcs time, any tickets they get for those games will be in the stands watching, instead of on the playing field.
Washington State, well, unless miracles really do exist, they probably should work on their 2012 strategy. We'll call them the Ralph Nader team of the pac 10.
