I have already posted the lines for every Monday Night NFL game in the pro section. The college future lines should be out sometime next month, if not sooner. I will keep you informed.

Silver7 and everyone else, has anyone been able to obtain a copy of this years' blue ribbon?

If so, would you please post the contact details in this thread and thanks.

I hope they didnt disappear because of the mortgage meltdown.

Woof....I haven't ordered mine yet. But here is the website that I got off of the book. www.blueribbonyearbook.com Last time I tried to order it they had web server problems and I couldn't get through. I'll try again today and see what happens. If nothing else you can probably call their number, which I think is on this website.

Thanks GS, but the # at their website has been either a message of all circuits are busy or its been disconnected for more than 6 weeks.

They are also still showing the 09 march madness ordering information.

I hope it didnt badly affect them, but the magazine always featured a company named franklin mortgage.

I dont know of another printed magazine that can substitute for the info br contained.

It certainly sounds as if they bellied up. Their phone number is disconnected and there is no new number, which is a dead giveaway. They were not very popular. To be honest, this is the only forum where I have ever seen them being mentioned. They were part of Blue Ribbon Media Services, out of Nashville, and I can not find any information on them either.

It's sad because that was a damned good publication that always kept me busy reading in the dog days of summer. I'll miss it.

I agree with trent that early season # wont have nc state more than a td fav over south car, a team that hammered them last year.

if the boise # is -2.5 or less i have to back the broncos. Oregon doesnt look very tough this year and boise is the best home team in cfb nowadays.

i think boise beats oregon in the opener on the smurf turf.

gs i agree br printed the best magazine and it will be greatly missed. im sure alot of the same material is available around the web, but it was nice having a printed copy in one place. was also a must have for hoops.

I think you guys are too high with LSU ranging from -21 -23 at washington.

Ill throw out a -16' in that spot as my early # since Washington has some returning players and a decent qb when hes healthy.

If I can get +21 or more ill be on Washington.

they did get 3td last year from okla but lsu this year doesnt = last year okla imo.

I'll just have to disagree with you on this one. While I buy Steele's magazine for the numbers and depth charts, I bought BR for the unbiased look at each team and the insightful reads. BR used a lot of actual interview info with coaches which I liked as well.

The closest I have seen to this publication are the team reviews found on CollegeFootballNews.com .

@ NCST-4 that would be around a 18 pt swing. SEC team vs ACC team; at frist glance it seems a bit too much. NCST did finish the season strong last year.

Best Wishes

I am really bullish on CAL but they may be a bit out of sync early on. I just can't shake what my gut is telling me on their QB situation. I've long felt that Riley is going to be the next great CAL qb but indications from Tedford clearly do NOT signal much confidence. This is NOT the Tedford way. He does NOT motivate his guys like this. Unless through fall camp we do not see a very clear statement from Tedford that Riley is the guy I think bettors need to prepare themselves for another 2 headed qb and that could mean trouble on large spreads... I've given this a lot of thought.

Ditto ditto.

Tedford's attitude towards Riley means a lot. A WHOLE LOT. The only point I have to raise is where CAL might have a payback motive when MD comes to Berkeley for the return bout. Keep in mind that Riley basically blew the game @MD with the rest of the Bears outplaying the Terps.

Remember how the Bears with Longshore beat up Tennessee in their Berkeley rematch? Same motivation here with Riley. He's had a few good games. You know that is the truth or Tedford wouldn't bother with him at all. I think this is a likely spot for Riley to play well. At home, a reverse situation compared to the egg he laid last season... etc. Call it atonement. For that matter, this whole season boils down to atonement on Riley's part. The best cast of surrounding players since he blew a shot at #1 when they lost to Oregon St.... or should I say when HE blew it vs Oregon St. I just don't know if he has it in him. The problem is, neither does Tedford.

We may learn a lot more in fall camp. Just pay attention to what Tedford says about Riley in the beat stories etc. I will be doing the same.

Im reading alot of Cal love here.

Steel high on them, again, and of course always a strong pac 10 voice among our forum here.

Cal better have their eyes open for Minnesota week 3.

@Oregon and USC on deck, that game looks like a ripe spot for a Gopher road upset.

I may have to bite on some Minny ML for that game.

I agree. Cal has two "look ahead" situations back to back. After two tune-up games, they have a trip to Minnesota before their trip to Oregon, and a trip to Oregon before the USC game at home. Last year Cal was 1-4 on the road. Cal's three year away record is 5-11. Check the line closely, especially if Minny loses or has a tough time in either one of their first two games, at Syracuse and at home against the Air Force.

As far as Cal's QB problems are concerned, I have to wonder how much of this Tedford brings upon himself. He is very quick to pull the trigger on his starting QB. He had Longshore and Riley on a yoyo when both were healthy. Now there is talk that the new kid, Freshman Brock Mansion (that name belongs in the WWE) is the real deal. If Riley slips, there could be a quick change, much quicker than if USC counterpart Pete Carroll has with Corp, having Barkley in the wings.

again, your mistake is judging the response from this forum
this is the minority...99% of the people that will make a bet week 1 aren't even talking about college football right now..!!

cal was -8.5 to stanford second to last game of yr at home
they opened -7 to miami in bowl that was a "home" game, which after suspensions for um and qb transferring that line ballooned to -10 and they didn't cover

maryland was +3 @ v tech on thrs night espn in their 2nd to last road game last yr

throw in the fact that maryland beat cal last yr, and pretty much dominated, and that line won't be as high

not to sound condascending, but you're getting confused with how much better you feel cal is and power rankings with what the spread will be...do i think cal can win by 14..?? well, considering that i have a nati'l title future on cal, and stated in another thread that i'm down on maryland, it's obvious that i think cal is much better...

but i don't think we'll see -14 on that game, or -16 like some one else posted

Don't know about dominated being the right word. CAL outgained the Terps by a 461-297 margin lastyear at Maryland.

Bonehead mistakes by Riley cost them a win and buried his team (a la your typical Kevin Craft day at UCLA -- maybe not that bad.) Such are the reasons behind Tedford's balking at naming Kevin Riley their starter.

Good to see you around ghog11. Hows WVU looking this year?

Since WMU won outright getting 7.5 from Illinois on a neutral field last year, I dont expect to see Michigan laying 14.

Michigan offense is returning everyone but a new qb and Hiller is a top 10 qb.

Last year at home Michigan played 2 mac teams, week 2 Miami, Ohio and week 6 Toledo laying 2tds+ in both games. They failed to cover Miami, Oh and lost outright to Toledo.

If books post less than a td here Ill be on Michigan.

What about Michigan's Defense this year? They lost some key guys and were absolutely horrible last year despite the fact that defense was supposed to be their strength. I know they red shirted some good O-linemen last year so they should be able to improve on that huge deficiency. I just don't know what to think about this team. A lot of people have them being solid this year but I just don't know.

They will have a good running game and I really like Brandon Minor who I think will be a big name by the end of the season. On top of that, they should be able to limit the turnovers that killed them last year but I just can't get over how bad their defense could be.

Maybe the new DC will be able to get it done with talent despite the inexperience.
