Lots of masks around here...

It is comical though to be honest, politicians have no clue...
So you make it mandatory to wear something, anything over your mouth and nose.

Mask no matter what level it is, bandana, scarf, etc...
Have seen many masks that are not fit well, lots of openings, not of level to help, etc
Let's also add in that most people are wearing the same mask for multiple days, etc.
You do know w=once it is worn/used it is contaminated. So tell me how is that helping anyone?

All these points were made by my medical friends who think it is ridiculous and not really helping much
for those reasons. They are also bothered that people are wearing latex gloves when out shopping and what not
They also think it is ridiculous and say it does nothing to help protect. Actually it does the opposite from some of them.

So please explain how much protection you are really, giving or getting???

People are ignorant of things to be honest. Many think we are doing all of this to prevent them from getting the virus lol
Pure folly to think that and shows how ignorant people are. Some of my friends think this.
Some of them also think if you get it you will most likely die....

If there's any contamination on the mask after wearing it, it is destroyed by properly washing it. I have one made out of material that can be put through the washer & dryer repeatedly for years.

Some other masks that are not machine washable can be put in the oven to destroy any virus that may be on it, if you know how to heat it safely and sufficiently. There's info on the internet about it.

Virtually any decent mask/face shield will be useful in hindering the ability of the infected who don't know they're infected & have no known symptoms to infect others. That's the main reason it is being encouraged.

If you live in one of the larger cities everyone has a mask on - you cannot go into any store without a mask - 91 degrees in a line with a mask that you can barely breathe in makes u inches from a panic attack

And how many people do you really think are even thinking about that?
Looking up to do that or even doing it?

Let's be realistic people in this country are inherently dumb and do not think for themselves
If they are not saying it on tv, they are not thinking it...

I'm srill wondering if you have medical issues and can't wear a mask.....how does that work? You go into a store...you have no mask so they want to kick you out. They are going to let you in because you say you have a medical issue? Are you suppose to walk around with your medical history?

My paragraph 3 is common knowledge. It's been all over the news for weeks.

My paragraph 2, as i said, is info available on the internet.

Re paragraph 1, i think probably many millions are aware of it.

What medical issue keeps someone from wearing a mask? I haven't seen anything in the news about that. Is it extremely rare?

Many people get food delivered to their home rather than risk going out. Some stores deliver. Others hire some service or get a charity organization or friend, neighbor or relative to do the shopping for them.

I think you are right about the masks Xfiles. I was wrong. Saying they aren’t necessary.

It’s now required here in Maryland when going out for shopping. Also another 30 days added to our stay at home order.

I heard it can be transmitted just by talking because the molecules are too small compared to a sneeze, that the specs are too small to settle and that they just float in the air.

Being in an open space outside like a park should be good. But indoors, probably smart to wear a mask.

Thanks for the info Mob. I wasn't aware of the Maryland order. God bless!

Masks to Be Required in All Maryland Grocery Stores, on Public Transit

Masks or face coverings will be required in all Maryland grocery stores and pharmacies and on public transportation starting Saturday morning, the governor announced Wednesday.

The state announced 40 deaths from the virus on Monday and an additional 47 deaths on Tuesday, marking the deadliest 48 hours of the virus crisis in the state thus far.

Gov. Larry Hogan said the mask order designed to slow the spread of coronavirus will go into effect at 7 a.m. Saturday, to give businesses time to prepare.

The order will require the wearing of masks or face coverings when inside any retail establishment, including grocery stores, convenience stores and pharmacies, or on any form of public transportation.

All store staff members also must wear face coverings and implement social distancing measures.

The order follows multiple orders by counties and cities that their citizens wear masks.

Statewide, 10,032 cases have been confirmed and 349 people with the virus have died. The state has identified an additional 64 probable deaths because of the virus. Go here for full details.

  • you are a designated caregiver for someone who has the flu and are at high risk of serious complications from the flu you may want to wear a facemask. Because a facemask will restrict the flow of air, a facemask should NOT be used by people who already have difficulty breathing due to an existing medical condition, such as asthma or emphysema.

Thanks exploited. A google search of "facemask asthma" has some listings for masks that can be worn by asthma sufferers:

KN95 is the only one to my knowledge that will keep from breath the virus

the others like a scarf, surgical mask, etc is just for you not breathing on everyone

so If mask is required it should be a KN95 tight fit, other wise you still can get thru other forms of material or masks

And these are hard to find, 2 month lead time on many
