(please note obesity walks hand in hand with type II diabetes amongst others, not a 100% correlation , of course). If not, please consider reading it. It tells us that genes are not the only factor in obesity . In addition, equally important screening for 'obesity genes' is of no use. Below is a reference from said article. guidelines for diabetes diagnosis were set in 1979. Revised, more stringently in 1997 then again in 2003.
I don't have an answer as to the impact of more readily available testing has had on diagnosis numbers and hence how that chart would look differently . Do you? if you do please share.
let's keep in mind those numbers are DIAGNOSED tallies. They do not include the number undiagnosed. Estimated 1 in 10 Americans have hyperglycemia . Amazing.
