I firmly believe that the day you are born, a blue print or road map if you will, is filed in a mythical warehouse.

It has all the twists and turns of your life written down. And no matter what you do it doesn’t really matter.

Why does one person survive a plane crash while 250 don’t.

When it comes to health, genetics is the blue print. It allows some people to eat like a pig and never get fat while others struggle with obesity their entire life.

And when your time is up, that’s it. I don’t care if your in a room with best doctors in the world, they won’t make a damn bit of difference.

Which leads me to the question I struggle with the most. What happens when you die? Is there an after life? Or do you just die, caput, your dead. Nothing more nothing less.

One thing I know for sure, sooner or later I’ll find out.

Actually, if there's nothing you don't even get to find out.

no doubt there is tons to learn but it's not suggesting that salt intake will not affect your blood pressure. there are reasons why salt intake is not suggested and health care professionals have no vying interstest in lowering salt intake

Nothing wrong with expanding our knowledge in the field of science. After all, science gave us the combustion engine, vaccines, and made the dream of the Wright brothers a reality which eventually propelled man to the moon.

But there's everything wrong with abusing science - specifically govt-backed mandates trying to legislate Utopia.

Science is ever-changing; govt mandates never change, which sums up why progressivism always fails and is left in dust by innovation and new technologies.

Nope, like your Bible-thumping Conservative Republican Governor has done in WI. :103631605

Democrats are very good at dangling this thing called 'Utopia' (winning elections).

What they fail miserably at is delivering Utopia.

That's where articulate, non-PC conservatives like Gov. Walker come into the picture: pointing the people to a better tomorrow by demonstrating just how badly progresssivism fails.

“The measure of success for government should not be how many people depend upon it, but how many are no are longer dependent on it”. - Scott Walker

Umm, progressivism is the epitome of dumb.

Creating generations of govt-dependent sheep immune from bad behavior is dumb on steroids.

Anyone who grew up in the 1950s in an avg single-income, double-parent household (probably with less than a high school education) will tell you, unequivocally, that society has gotten dumber as people have become more dependent on the govt for...well, everything.

The progressive "war on poverty" - dumping trillions down the toilet trying to replace the nuclear family (nature's social safety net) with Sugar Daddy Govt: dumb
Moral relativism: dumb
multiculturalism: dumb
giving every kid a trophy and teaching them hard work and sacrifice are sins (socialism good; capitalism eeeeevil): VERY dumb
anthropogenic global warming: dumb to the extreme

The reason kids are having to go to school longer is they are, well, dumber - a lot dumber - when they graduate high school compared to even 50 years ago. You would not believe the writings of an 18 year soldier with virtually no education in WW1, compared to today's avg. high school victim of public education who can't even read, write or spell.

Go back to the speeches of past presidents (Lincoln, Washington etc.)...Obama voters would not have a clue what they are saying!

Progressivism is the epitome of dumb. Govt dependency is DUMB because it eviscerates critical and independent thinking - great for politicians and bureaucrats selling the snake-oil of Utopia...shitty for everyone else.

Smart is not knowledge or education, smart is wisdom - knowing how to apply knowledge is power.

Today's ME Generation is dumber, less mature, less responsible, more entitled, more dependent, less emotionally stable and more easily brainwashed by cults ("global warming") than the ones who built America. Ask anyone from the Greatest Generation and you'll get an earful.

Progressivism (reorganizing society from the top) is the epitome of dumb.

you are a bit warped and unaware of your surroundings. I could go on and on but today's average 18-year-old from Public Education can read, write, and spell. Believing in global warming does not mean you are involved in a cult anymore than anyone who doesn't believe in global warming

Public Education compared to what? Public Education is a progressive FAIL no matter how you measure it.

For instance, take home schooling:

So much for the libtard canard of conservatives being 'dumb'

But wait, lets measure Public Education against itself - the results are even more horrifying:

SAT-Scores-declining-Zero-Hedge.png

You're a libtard, so expect to be proven wrong over and over. Funny how people with less than a high school diploma were wiser 50-100 years than today's "educated" crowd. Actually, if we replace 'educated' with 'indoctrinated' it makes perfect sense.

Today's government-indoctrinated kids are DUMBER, courtesy of your FAILED ideology.

'And no matter what you do it doesn’t really matter. '

Dave this cannot be the case. Sorry it cannot. Here take a look at the following:

as an example, how would genetics explain the following:

http://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/statistics/prev/national/figpersons.htm

'Diabetes is becoming more common in the United States. From 1980 through 2011, the number of Americans with diagnosed diabetes has more than tripled (from 5.6 million to 20.9 million)'.

fNumberOfPersons.gif

how does genetics explain the TRIPLING of diabetes in your country in a span of just 30 years?

ENVIRONMENTAL factors also play a 'huge role' . We have a long list of diseases of civilization- that is, anthropological studies tell us that many of today's diseases did not exist in hunter- gathering societies.

here is a terrific read:

http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/obesity-prevention-source/obesity-causes/genes-and-obesity/#references

this is brilliant --

“Genes may co-determine who becomes obese, but our environment determines how many become obese.”

even in IDENTICAL TWINS (same DNA) the expression of type-1 diabetes is NOT 100% .That is, if one has it, the other does not necessarily get it.

note, this is not an attempt to downplay the role of genetics , rather to shed light unto the critical role of environment.

Is it becoming more common or have the screening and detection improved over that period?

Most cancers are random gene mutations - genetics, environment don't even factor into the equation.

Bad luck.

Sad but true.

[h=1]Middle School Reading Lists 100 Years Ago vs. Today Show How Far American Educational Standards Have Declined[/h]
According to her research, the recommended literature list for 7th and 8th graders in Minnesota in 1908 included the following:

I notice you have a great interest in diabetes. Someone close to you a diabetic? If so just have them drop a bunch of weight. Problem solved.

However being heavy doesn’t mean you’ll have diabetes. I’m 68 years old, 6 feet 2 and weigh 240. I take zero meds and pretty much eat and drink anything I want. The only exercise I get is a 20 minute walk a day.

I smoke cigars, drink beer and have done it all my life. So did my grand father and my father. One died at 96 the other 94.

So I expect to live at least another 20 years unless of course I get hit by a bus or get shot in the back by a jealous husband.

Why do I expect to live least another 20 years? Because of my genetic make up. That’s the only thing that makes any sense.
